Dragon Roll (8 Pieces)

If you're staying near Hilton Hawaiian Village, do yourself a favor and walk across the street to Kan Sushi Hawaii. The fish was incredibly fresh, the service was friendly and attentive, and the entire experience exceeded our expectations. Every roll and sashimi dish tasted high-quality and beautifully prepared. A special shout-out to Emily, our server, who was fantastic. She was friendly, attentive, and helped make the experience even more enjoyable with her great recommendations and excellent service. Whether you're a local or visiting Waikiki, Kan Sushi is absolutely worth a visit. Come hungry and leave happy...you won't be disappointed!

We went for lunch at $28.95 AYCE sushi (excluding the premium stuff) on a Sunday morning at 11 AM as soon as they opened. No lines. PROS: - very sweet server, very friendly - excellent price in Waikiki, or anywhere, for an AYCE! - everything tasted fresh - large selection of seating choices CONS: - frequently missing or messed up orders. My baked lobster roll went to another table and they tried to give us miso soup we didn't order. - extremely long waits for some items, inconsistently. For example, my Hot and Fresh roll came within a few minutes, but for my second order, it took over 35 minutes; the waitress was nice enough to pack it up for me to go since I wasn't happy about it. My co-worker said her record wait-time for sushi was 45 minutes for one order, I guess this is par for the course, given the hundreds of orders people place and can get mixed up, wrong, or not even show up. - water refills were not given automatically, we had to ask, and all three of our glasses were completely empty. Asking anyone other than our server went on deaf ears and completely flat affect with no response. NEUTRAL: - parking is available but it's pricey for local standards at $6.00/hr at Canterbury Place. If you want free parking, you'll have to go on a Sunday and walk from the streets, at the Ala Wai Small Boat Harbor near the beach (limited free stalls), or buy something at Ala Moana Shopping Center and then walk to Kan Sushi (about an 18 min walk, but faster if you cut to the left of the Ala Wai Canal along the Ala Wai Blvd, right on Lipe'epe'e Street, modified left onto Hobron Lane (stop by Kulu Kulu cakes on Hobron before you go home), right onto Ena lane and left onto Ala Moana Blvd and Kan is right around the corner. TIPS: - you can supposedly order 4 things at a time, per person. If they let you order more, I'd go ahead and do it, since we were the first people into the restaurant, and the 8th to leave due to food coming out slowly or not at all. A huge group of about 25 people came in soon after, and that could have had something to do with it. - order the meats first since they come out first (and fast to cook compared to making a sushi roll by hand), then order the rolls. - make sure you stop by Kulu Kulu for sweets and pastries on Hobron Lane (walking distance) for a sweet treat after. I hear there is an ice cream shop underneath the building that Kan Sushi sits on, but Kulu Kulu is a well-deserved treat if you are willing to splurge for top-notch, 5- star sweets.

This AYCE restaurant combines my two favorite loves - Korean BBQ and sushi! The restaurant is right across from Fort DeRussy and diagonal to the Hilton Hawaiian Village. There is ample parking in the parking garage right behind the restaurant. We got here early (around 6pm) on a weekday. The place was not crowded yet but a flood of customers came in shortly after we arrived. The service was friendly but slow. There was only one server handling an entire section of around ten tables so we had to wait quite a while for our drinks and food to arrive. There needed to be at least one more server or server assistant to handle the multiple requests from guests. However, our server was patient and handled himself well. He knew we were waiting for quite a while to get our food and made sure to apologize and give us updates on the wait. The food was excellent. I wish I had taken more pictures but I was way too busy stuffing my mouth with all this goodness! There is a nice selection of meats, side dishes, and sushi rolls. You can upgrade to the premium meats for $20.00 more to get wagyu and other specials, however, we felt satisfied with the regular menu selections. Keep in mind that if one person decides to upgrade, everyone on the table has to upgrade is well. The price is reasonable ($38.95) and I much rather go here than Gens any day! Definitely will be back for more sushi and korean bbq!

Our first time here with our Ohana so let be break it down for sushi & meat connoisseurs. A table for 7 and Joseph took care of us. Celebrated two birthdays and we cleared 20 dishes of different sushi-Tom & Jerry; dynamite sushi; Tiger roll, California rolls, Roli Poli (guessing); fried oyster, fried squid, shrimp tempura, Hawaiian Steak, grilled pork belly; Kalbi; cucumber salad, -like I said, we ate! Joseph helped us with recommendations to try & it didn't disappoint. Mahalo to Joseph & crew at Kan Sushi!! Ohhh can't forget the sushi chefs!!!

Came here for an early dinner surprisingly not much wait for walk-in on a Saturday. Ordered our sushi, crunch roll, dragon roll, tiger roll, yam bam cruncher and salmon and shrimp nigiri, takoyaki, kalbi and whole bunch more. I'm pleased with how fast the service was. The rolls came out quickly back to back with each order probably because it wasn't super busy. All rolls were pretty tasty. Minus one star just because this is the first time ive had bones in dragon rolls or any rolls with unagi on it. Yes i know fish comes with bones but I would assume higher quality sushi restaurants usually take out the bone. Sakura doesn't have any bones in their unagi. I had a bone stuck in my throat but I didn't overreact in the restaurant but while driving home I had to pull over to try and take it out because it got painful with every swallow. Ambiance is nice, restaurant and bathrooms are clean. Nothing too fancy. Nice and casual.

Kan Sushi was solid. I went with the premium all-you-can-eat option, which is $20 more than regular AYCE and $59 before tax and tip. The service was amazing and the ambiance was great. The standout was the seared salmon carpaccio -- soft, rich, lightly seared, and balanced well with the sauce and garnish. I also liked the variety of tapas-style options, which made it easy to mix up the order. For sashimi, I had octopus, mackerel, seared yellowtail, premium tuna, and premium salmon. For carpaccio, I had seared salmon, seared tuna, and albacore. I also added a yellowtail hand roll, miso soup, seaweed salad, soft shell crab, and tonkatsu. I love a good AYCE.

Literally soooo good, a friend recommended this place and It did not disappoint. Such great service, friendly staff, quick and efficient. Will be back for sure. I am extremely full now also the appetizers are fire

I absolutely love Kan Sushi! I ate here recently for the first time. It was my cheat meal for the week and I'm so glad we went here to fufill my sushi craving. It was a recommendation from a friend and was also rated pretty good on Yelp. I saw a video on Youtube as well and that's what sealed the deal for me. We ate here on a Saturday night around 7pm. I saw on Yelp that they don't take reservations over the phone for parties under 6 people so we had to do a walk in reservation only. We parked next door under the old Wailana Coffee House Restaurant since I heard it was cheaper than parking under Kan Sushi. I checked in at the front desk and our wait time was only 25mins. They take your phone # so that they can notify you via text message when your table was ready. We just waited outside until it was our turn and there was a good amount of people waiting too. They send you a link so that you can see what your position is in line on the waiting list just in case you want to explore the shops near by. While walking in, we noticed that the restaurant was really full. Waiters were running around and it seemed that our waiter was super busy so one of the managers took our order initially so that we didn't have to wait too long. We decided to go with the Premium AYCE price since we were ready to eat everything we could on the menu and the premium included the A5 Wagyu and Uni. Sadly, they were out of the A5 but we had free reign over everything else on the menu minus the drinks. We ordered about 7 items each for the first round and then ordered more as we finished each dish. Here's the list of everything we tried: Tunapeno Roll Bonnie and Clyde Roll Cholesteroll (Manager Recommendation) Sea Salt Edamame Spicy Beef Gyoza Shrimp Tempura Takoyaki Garlic Pork Bun Jalapeno Bomb Beef Bulgogi Hawaiian Steak Spicy Pork Bulgogi Baked Mussels Korean Chicken Wings Tuna Tataki Premium Sashimi Platter Negitoro Gunkan Cucumber Salad Micro Spring Salad Seaweed Salad Yellowtail Carpaccio Sweet Green Tea I'm probably missing a few others but overall, everything we had did not disappoint at all! All of these dishes were delicious and I'm glad I didn't get too many rolls or I would have been too stuffed to eat anything else. There were only 2 of us at our table and we ate everything I listed plus some I ordered more than once. We were super satisfied with our experience here. They don't have a dessert menu but that sweet green tea was a nice little treat in between bites. The waiter that was assigned to us did an awesome job keeping up with our orders and making sure we didn't go thirsty. The price was worth it at $60 per person! I will keep coming back here and can't wait for our next dine in at Kan Sushi! I already recommended them many times to friends and family and might be coming back with a larger party in the future. I know there are plenty of comments in the reviews saying that their customer service isn't the best but we saw that they actually are trying to improve and do better. We didn't wait too long for anything and got everything we ordered. Food and drinks came quickly so we were in and out in less than an hour. I highly recommend this restaurant to all you sushi lovers. It's the best All You Can Eat Sushi establishment on the island! Thanks again Kan Sushi! We'll see you in the future for more!

Here we are at it again... and Kan Sushi still delivers every single time. With Kendal and the manager running the show, you honestly can't go wrong. The same staff, same menu, but somehow the food tastes even better each visit. The vibe is consistent, the service is on point, and the dishes come out fresh and flavorful. If you haven't been yet, y'all seriously need to get down here. This place stays winning. Marie

What a lovely all you can eat sushi experience! I had sushi with my husband last night and we ordered the Snowflake salmon (that was delicious!) creamy S&S, after rain roll, Bonnie and Clyde roll and a crunchy roll. I loved the after rain roll, creamy S&S and Snowflake salmon! The Bonnie and Clyde was really nice too! I was worried it was going to be too spicy for me but it had a nice kick, nothing too spicy. I was looking forward to the Yam Bam roll but didn't know that the sweet potato was on the outside of the roll and not on the inside. My mistake for not paying attention but it was still good! Our server Ryan was great, even when I dropped two forks on the floor in a row. My only suggestion would be to have a spoon to scoop up the sushi since chopsticks are kinda hard for me. Overall it was a lovely experience with beautiful interiors and a quiet atmosphere!

There are meals one enjoys. Meals one admires. Meals one respectfully documents, notes the flavor balance of, and later describes using words like "elegant" and "well-executed." And then there are meals that rock your world. This was one of them. Kaiten sushi, or conveyor belt sushi, is a casual, affordable Japanese dining style invented in 1958 where plates of sushi rotate on a motorized belt passing diners, allowing them to select dishes directly. Here at Kaiten Sushi Ginza Onodera, it's not the typical catwalk of pre-made maki rolls, nigiri, and other offering. You order off a kiosk and then it is fast-tracked to your table via sushi belt. Here at Kaiten Sushi Ginza Onodera, you are granted the ability to try their Edomae-style sushi for a more affordable price. Edomae-style sushi is a traditional Tokyo cuisine originating in the 1820s, featuring seafood, often cured, marinated, or simmered, served atop rice seasoned with red vinegar (akasu). It focuses on enhancing fish flavor through technique rather than just raw freshness, historically acting as fast food for 19th-century Edo residents. We are staying at the hotel, Prince Waikiki, and based on the rave reviews, we expected a flawless, high-end meal. While the restaurant looks clean and accurately mimics a true Japan dining atmosphere, the kitchen execution and lack of basic customer service completely ruined our celebration. My husband ordered the Yokozuna set and 2 Kanimiso Gunkans, and I ordered the Ozeki set (we both substituted our Ikura, and he got the Big Shrimp). While chewing his premium Toro, my husband hit a massive fish bone. It was huge, a legitimate, dangerous choking hazard. For a restaurant charging top-dollar for high-grade tuna, a bone of that size getting past a sushi chef is completely unacceptable. When my husband showed the bone to our waitress, she just casually said she would "inform the chefs." That was it. No manager ever came over, no one apologized, and they didn't even adjust our bill. We were forced to pay full premium price for a dish that nearly choked my husband. The pacing was completely mismatched. My husband's food arrived almost immediately, but my Ozeki set took an incredibly long time to come out. Because he didn't want to start eating without me on our first date, his sushi just sat on the table getting warm. The kitchen was running painfully slow, which made no sense because the restaurant wasn't even fully seated yet. Just that little moment left a bad impression and would have been worse if my husband choked. I honestly could have just went to genki sushi, never gotten bones in my fish there. Overall, sushi was good but not something to rave over. to pay that much for sushi I was expecting more, and this fell flat.

After walking around, the hostess asked if we had a reservation. I gave her my name, but she said we didn't have one, even though the restaurant was nearly empty. She then explained that our reservation was actually at their sister restaurant around the other side of the building. We went over there and found that it was primarily a sushi restaurant, which wasn't really what we were looking for. We had expected more of an izakaya-style experience, so we canceled the reservation and returned to the original restaurant. Once seated, the service was good and our server was attentive throughout the meal. One thing that was a little confusing was that sushi and sashimi had to be ordered from the sister restaurant, even though we were dining in the other restaurant. The food was brought over and served to us without any issues, and there were no problems with the bill, but it took us a while to understand how the two restaurants operated together. We ordered several dishes, including chicken skin wrapped gyoza, crab tempura, an assorted sashimi platter, a cream cheese and fish roe appetizer served with toast, an egg dish topped with fish roe, chicken karaage, and the miso butterfish. The highlights for me were the chicken karaage, miso butterfish, and gyoza. I enjoyed them enough to order another round of the gyoza and chicken. That said, many of the dishes leaned toward the sweeter side of Japanese cuisine, which just isn't my personal preference. If you enjoy those flavors, your experience may be different. Overall, the food was good, the service was solid, and there were a few standout dishes. The confusion with the reservation, entrance setup, and relationship between the two restaurants got the evening off to an awkward start, but the meal improved once we were seated. I'm not really a Japanese food person, so four stars is probably the highest rating I could realistically give a Japanese restaurant. With that in mind, I thought they did a good job, and there were a few dishes I would consider ordering again.

We had leftovers for breakfast the next day! - For appetizers we got: Ulu Tots, Japanese Eggplant, and Corn Beignets. The Corn Beignets was the best. - For entree we got: Tomato Miso Black Cod and the Short Rib. Both were delicious and worth a try. Sad to see that this restaurant appears to be closing.

I really can't tell you all we had because Randy took charge. Every bite worked well with the bottle of sake we had. I do know that one of the bites included firefly squid, those cute, small, bioluminescent cephalopods famous for their brilliant blue light. Regardless, it was a fun way to cap off the trip. It was quiet loud when they welcomed guests which wasn't easy to handle but I understood why they were doing that. Loved the presentation of our choices which we took pics of. Thank you for a fun evening. We'll be back next year.

First, our service by Manager JP and server John are 2nd to none. If you follow my Yelp reviews and sushi reviews you KNOW we are indeed global sushi "experts" from San Francisco, to NYC, Miami, Tel Aviv and everywhere in between. We were in town for the King Kamehameha Day and weekend parades and celebrations. Our son is a rising Senior at University of Hawai'i at Mānoa and two of his friends joined our party of six which our son made the Sunday evening reservations. My mother-in-law was using a scooter this trip and JP was very generous & helpful in accommodating our "parking" needs inside the restaurant. We were seated in a "prefect" table outside overlooking the Wakiki strip. Our server John was very welcoming, hospitable and kind. As we settled in and reviewed our massive menus which "like reading a newspaper" has just about everything to accommodate any diner needs. Unfortunately, a light rain and drizzle happening requiring us to relocate inside in a very comfortable table at the front of the restaurant that John took full charge in making our "transition" simple and quickly. Now, the sushi selections were very unique, amble, beautiful and delicious! Our creative cocktails and entree selections are too extensive for this dyslexic to list here. I took a photo and it is listed in the photos. Our sushi experience was amazing! Highly recommend Doraku Sushi Waikiki! Manager JP and Server John rock!

There were standouts and overall we loved the meal. A local id gets the 10% service fee removed which was nice. Every piece of sushi was beautifully presented not overwhelming. You can really tell the chefs put a lot of thought into the balance of flavors and textures. One of my favorite bites was a sashimi piece topped with something that looked like finely grated cheese (not sure what it actually was), but it melted perfectly with the fish and added a really unique savory flavor. The chefs and staff also had a good sense of humor. At one point they served kinki fish and jokingly explained that the English translation sometimes gets called "idiot fish," which got everyone laughing at the counter. The omakase is definitely on the pricier side, but the quality, presentation, and overall experience made it very satisfying. If you're looking for a refined sushi experience with great service and beautifully crafted bites, this place is worth the splurge.

DOMO Café, you do NOT disappoint! Domo's Kahala location has quickly become our go-to, grab-and-go…read moresushi joint. Although they have a clean and comfortable space for dining in, we regularly stop by after church or on the weekends for something to savor at our favorite park. Seriously, it's easy to enjoy their bowls, sushi sets, or bentos anytime and anyplace. We've got a passion for this place. Here's how this love affair started...I discovered Domo when a friend invited me for some sushi and sips at her place. I was amazed at the beautiful platter of sushi that accompanied our sake and wine. My friends are the best hosts! I devoured the bombs, nigiris and rolls (in between sips!). Everything was simply delicious! Fast forward a few months, I order a couple sushi sets to host a poolside, golden-hour birthday get together at my other friend's home. (I know, you want to be part of this squad, right?!). Anyway, using the online order system is a snap! My hubby went in to pick up the sushi and said they were slammed but our sushi sets were ready to go. This time we ordered some ikura because the hubby and my bestie are big fans. Both agree it was fresh and fantastic! And the garlic set with the flash-seared fish and a hint of mayo is a MUST-try. We also ordered a California roll for my friend's aunt who is not really a sushi fan. She delighted in several pieces and even enjoyed the nigiri from the garlic set. Total convert! After enjoying the platters and sets, we had to try the bentos and bowls. This time it's just us and the pup at the park. The bentos provide a great variety and comes with miso soup. The hubby really likes the shrimp tempura with ahi and salmon nigiri and ahi poke. It's a steal at less than $20. I'm a bowl girl myself and like the spicy tempura. The tempura is cooked crisp yet tender. The spicy ahi poke combined with the creamy crab salad and the crunchy ocean salad delights all my tastes buds. It's truly an adventure in finding the perfect bite--and there are so many in this bowl! I also love the seared salmon bowl. It is melt-in-your-mouth goodness. I add the fried onions for some texture. You know a place is top-notch when you can feel confident that anything off their menu will satisfy your cravings. Because this is a Yelp review, here are some helpful tips. For sushi platters, pre-order. The online system is simple to use. Service is fast and efficient if you're just walking in for a quick bite or to grab something to go. Parking has always been easy for us to find in the small lot in the complex where Domo is located. It's right next to Assagio's Kahala. But if you're worried about parking, I suggest ordering in advance and then just picking up. This works great during peak dining hours. If you want fresh, delicious sushi that is reasonably priced be like us and visit Domo Café. You will probably also be like us and want to go back to try more.
