Whoever came up with the idea of a sushi bar within The District dining complex is very cool. It's a small train but fits in well with the funky upmarket food court vibe. At $3 for all plates (except the gold plates), it's a great find (not sure if this is an opening special only).
Service was appalling. It's run by some novice Koreans who seem to have no knowledge or experience in the service industry. There was no greeting upon entering, you're expected to find a seat for yourself, no cutlery or dishes are provided so you have to ask the staff, no water is provided and you have to ask each time you want a refill, they forget orders (only to start preparing them 20 mins later when they remember, when you are about to leave), etc.
The most frustrating thing was asking for the bill. We had stood up in front of the counter for a good 5 minutes directly in front of the staff, who were too busy to serve us - instead preferring to make sushi for the sushi train with zero customers at 8pm.
When we were finally charged, the waiter typed in our bill into the system and then proceeded to have an in-depth discussion in Korean about how they had prepared the wrong order for a table not sitting at the sushi train!
Will not be back again. read more
