These guys are the bomb! They took care of my folks with their propane needs for decades. And you know what, they did a lot of their services for free. You can't beat the knowledge and professionalism of their staff. The techs practice safe methods 100 percent of the time and have been providing years of complaint free customer service. Safety checks relighting pilot lights and even adjusting pilot lights for proper function even relighting my folks 80 year stove...free. These guys aren't good they are great. If you need anything that is connected to propane see these guys. In fact when you refill your next tank of propane for your BBQ it probably was delivered to your refill point by them. They have a cool mosquito catcher in stock and large variety of products for the BBQer. From now on my propane and propane accessories will be purchased from Kamps Propane. Their service is terrible they do not deliver on a timely manner and have terrible customer service. I have been waiting for over 12 days for them to come and they gave me 4 dates that a deliver would happen and it STILL hasn't been delivered. No supervisor or manager can be reached and they even charged me extra to get the service quicker. I would never choose them for service unless you like terrible customer service. read more

Used this company for years for our commercial forklift propane tanks. Horrible customer service. You can reach out with questions/complaints on their website but they will never answer you. Tried to cancel services over email, no response. Called to cancel over phone MULTIPLE TIMES, took them over a month to come pick up their cage and tanks we were renting. We canceled our services over 3 months ago and are still receiving invoices for service fees and cage rentals. Called Kamps and spoke to customer service about this AGAIN MULTIPLE TIMES and continue to receive invoices for services not provided. Can't get anyone to respond to emails. They don't even have good pricing. I can't imagine why anyone would ever use their services unless it was their literal last resort. Stay away from this company and save yourself the headache. We are now using Campora and have had incredible customer service and lower rates, a win-win. read more

Second time here. Happy with the first trip. I understand a business has the right to refuse service, but a customer has the right to not spend their money at a place as well. Being that I'm fully vaccinated I walked in without a mask. On this day, May 25,2021 California does not mandate mask wearing for fully vaccinated individuals. I asked for help and the lady told me to wait outside and she would send for a gentleman to help me. She then said that when I come back in I need a mask. I asked "even if I'm fully vaccinated"? She had a rude comment accompanied by eye rolling and head gesture, "umm yes, you need a mask". I'm giving it a bad review for her attitude not the company's choice to require face masks. read more

Tried to give these guys a chance and got my tanks filled there 3 or 4 times, but the customer service is not good and the last time I went there it was my last time. Nobody seems to care about anything, especially the customer. The guy filling the tanks makes you feel like you are bothering him and just interrupted him from doing something much more important that filling my tanks. If I could give this place zero stars I would I got a bill stating I had until the 4 August to pay they turned my gas off five days prior to that and made me wait until August 4 to unlock it then the manager told me that he wasn't sure if they even put a lock on my gas line and oh well if they did and the soonest that they would get out to remove it would be five days from when I called how ridiculous plus they call and call and call with your billing information even when it isn't due the manager was super rude proceeded to yell at me that it wasn't his fault if they couldn't remember if they had came out to put a lock on it and I was out of luck until they can get out there to take it off how unprofessional and how rude I told him I had proof that they weren't supposed to do that and he said oh well how awful definitely don't go with this propane company terrible customer service wouldn't recommend it to my worst nightmare read more

Very disappointed with their service. I received their Fall 2012 newsletter that offered a Heater Check Special for $59.95. When I called the local Hayward office to schedule they told me they didn't have any service techs at that location. They refered me to the corporate offices in Manteca. I call there and was put on hold for a long time then transferred to the local Manteca office. I explaned that I did not care what office sent the service tech, I just wanted to get my heater checked out and take advantage of the special price before the 11/30 deadline. I was told the Sevice Tech and Manager were not available and someone would call me back to schedule the Heater Check. Of course, no one ever called me back. A couple of years ago the driver delivering my propane backed up onto my lawn and left giant tire tracks in a deep depression. When I called to office to report it the manager said when the weather was better he would send someone out to check it out and make any repairs necessary. No one ever came out and I had to repair the damage myself. Propane is propane. One brand isn't any better than another. Its the service that counts and the employees of this company just pass any hot potatoes to the next guy and no one takes ownership of any customer problemes that are not their immediate job description. It is obvious the company does a poor job of keeping them motivated to provide excellent customer service. read more

This establishment gets 5 stars. When my house ran out of propane on the coldest of nights they sent a truck to give me a few gallons to get me through the night. They returned with the propane truck the next day to fill my tank. It was my fault that the tank ran out, but they did not care about that. This was such a human thing to do. To recognize that someone was in need of help and to go out of their way to help them. You do not see that level of kindness these days. I do not recommend this company, you are late on your payment 1 time and your automatically on cash only. They do not work with their customers and the account rep is rude, disrespectful. They had no desire in helping their customers or stand by their product. I had a tank leak 100 gallons of propane it was empty in 5 weeks, all they can say is you used it, buy more. NEVER deal with these people. I had been a long-time customer on a rural home and they delivered propane when I didn't need it (and told the driver I didn't need it) without telling me the price was $1 a gallon higher than usual -- then sent my account to collections, despite the payments I was sending in (a practice which had been acceptable for years before) and threatened to lock off the tank if I didn't pay the full amount immediately. Didn't care that I told the driver not to fill the tank, nor that I was paying them. Needless to say, I am now a customer of Amerigas (at more than a dollar a gallon less) and with people who can treat people with diplomacy and respect. I could explain the complete train wreck that Amerigas and their Scotts Valley office almost made of our move in to a new home but, I won't waste this space. I called KAMPS after a new neighbor saw the misery that I was being subjected to recommended KAMPS. OMG: What a huge difference!! 1) Amber provided excellent customer service. 2) She had a technician out in a flash. 3) They are replacing the Amerigas tank with their own. 4) They got me up and running with a temporary tank. One final detail: I also found out that Northern Energy (who was my old provider) was purchased by Amerigas recently. What a shame. They were good too. GO KAMPS!! read more

I just got off the phone with their "Customer Service", They sent me to Collections for a invoice that I never received. They "tried" to call me and said that my number was disconnected. Mind you that I was sent to collections right past my 30days after the propane was delivered. They just lied about calling me and sending me invoices. How many can you possibly send in 30 days? Ty in the Sacramento office gave me an amazing tip that saved my poor old propane camping frig when everyone else said it was toast. He saved me between $400 and $800 to replace it depending on whether I found a used one or bought a new one. He didn't have to do that but he did and I am grateful. These folks deserve your business. The house I just moved into has Kamps propane tank I thought I had to stay with them. I called them several times to get started, the lady on the phone was to email me the paperwork for new customers, after several hours and no email I called her back as I knew they were going to close soon. She said she forgot and will send it now, again no email I called the next day and the 2nd person I spoke with was very rude on the phone and said I should of known who I was speaking to originally so she couldn't help me. I gave her the address as I didn't know who I was originally talking to she took a message and would let the person know and have her send me an email with the paperwork to start, mind you I work 16hr nights I'm doing this with just a few hours of sleep. I finally got an email just before closing and it was an invoice to another company, since the office was closed I couldn't speak with anyone and I don't have any heat or hot water in my house over the weekend it's only the beginning of December and extremely cold. Come Monday I decided to go down to the office, again after working another 16hr shift with just 2hrs sleep to fill out the paperwork. I'm willing to pay for any fees that need to be done but she couldn't tell me what I needed to start to get someone out to my house and unlock the tank. I had to wait for a phone call while I was at work from another department to pay over 300$ to start service but they didn't fill my tank just sent someone out to unlock it 2 days later. I asked if they would fill it and the tech said yes but I had to contact the office to set it up. Okay at this point I'm flipping tired I just want a hot shower and heat for my home. The tank was at 30% so I just called today 12-30-16 and had to pay an additional $400+ the lady on the phone said I have a bill for $66..okay what for when I originally paid $300+ to get someone out and my tank was not filled at that time, I was told it was for the tank rental..It's only been 3 weeks why am I being charged again..Ugh whatever!! And they won't be out till Wednesday. I would not recommend this company you just get the run around and prices are very high. Not worth it. I will be looking around for other companies. read more
