Complimentary birthday dessert
Adaora O.

Writing this after my second time trying Kama Bistro! Funny enough, both visits involved a birthday celebration. We had a big group of about 8 so we had to call to make a reservation. They seated us at a large enough table in the center of the dining room. Our server was kind and helpful, however, she seemed to be stacked with tables. Nothing against her or her service, but I noticed a few of our dishes got messed up (my dairy-free dish came with yogurt) and we had to wait a bit to get her attention a few times. It was my boyfriend's birthday so they served us a complimentary dessert (ice cream with a chocolate sauce). Overall, I thoroughly enjoy Kama and the food is great! A great place to come for dinner.

I have been wanting to try this place. Reservations are highly recommended because they are busy. We were greeted and seated immediately by the hostess when we arrived for our dinner reservations. The interior is nice and dark. Our server that evening was attentive, friendly, and efficient. I've tried: CHICKEN VINDALOO- the sauce is rich and delicious! LAMB TIKA MASALA- the meat is so tender, and the sauce is flavorful NAAN- great for dipping into the vindaloo or masala sauce The Mango Martini and Smokin' Berries cocktails were both great. I'd come back to try other dishes. The portions were just right, although it would have been better if there were mote protein in each dish. One dish is good for 2 people to share, if having rice or naan to eat the dish with. 'Til next time.

The food was outstanding!!! We all loved the Tikla Masala spinach and regular sauce for chunks of chicken. Thr paneer was delicious! The Love and Passionfruit teas were great. Service was very informative, knowledgeable, and polite. Overall, I can't wait to come back!

My husband and I were looking for a place that was more quiet intimate and this definitely was the place. We made a great choice. The food was so delicious. I definitely recommend the crispy potatoes in the appetizers they were spicy but not hot spice. Flavored very well and I will definitely be having them again. I get to try my husband's paneer ravioli it was delicious and I wished I had gotten that instead of what I had. I had the Saag spinach masala, it looks like it was healthy, which it definitely was. It just needed a little bit more of flavor to it. We're in La Grange all the time. It's definitely gonna be a place that we visit again we signed up for the rewards program. We will try different entrées and appetizers and let you know how they taste.

Goan Mussels Curry

We had dinner here on a Sunday night and were glad we made a reservation as they were busy shortly after 5:30PM. The cocktail menu is extensive and creative. I went with the Goan sour and it was excellent. The coconut lime foam on top was a fancy addition and it went nicely with the drink. We shared an order of the Goan curry mussels and were glad our server suggested getting some naan to soak up the sauce as it was delicious. The mussels were fresh and tender and the curry was perfect with them. We could have made a meal out of a few orders of these as they were so good! I had the lamb chops masala for my entree and the lamb chops were so good! They were tender and flavorful and had just the right amount of char from the grill. The sauce was amazing and I could just eat a bowl of that with some naan. Medium spice level had flavor without heat. I think this was perfect for with the lamb chops. Speaking of the naan it was fresh, warm and delicious. We also shared an order of the okra and that was crispy and delicious. It was a huge serving and so we had a container to take home . Service was excellent and our server helped us out a number of times including the recommendation of naan for the sauces and also giving us a heads up that rice came with our entrees since we almost ordered it separately. The atmosphere is casual and modern. The food was so good this is definitely on my list of places to return when I'm in town visiting family.

Paneer ravioli, Chicken Tikka Harrisa, aloo paneer naan

I had a lot of expectations on the food at this place due to great and very welcoming ambience. I was really disappointed to see the small portions for the high price from the menu. The food was very spicy though I ordered medium spicy. The chicken appetizer was very disappointing and didn't taste good at all. Paneer ravioli was okay but costed $27 for 5 pieces of Ravioli. The stars they earn is only for good service and ambience but lack the taste for the food. I may not choose to go to this place again.

Kama Kaze Lamb Shank

My husband and I went to Kama Indian Bistro for a date night, and it was a fantastic experience! The food was delicious--he tried the Harissa Chicken Tikka appetizer and absolutely loved it. The chicken was tender, served in a rich and flavorful crème. For his main dish, he had the Kama Kaze Lamb Shank with ghost pepper, which packed a bold and spicy kick. I opted for garlic naan, puri, and spinach masala, all of which were fresh and full of flavor. Service was great; our waitress was kind and attentive, and despite the restaurant being nearly full, we were seated immediately. That really stood out to us because many places either make you wait or rely strictly on reservations. The hostess made sure to find a spot for us quickly, even on a Friday night at 6:30 PM, which is pretty rare. We waited about 25 minutes for our food, which was reasonable, and the atmosphere was absolutely beautiful. Overall, Kama delivered an extraordinary experience. Highly recommend if you're looking for great Indian food in LaGrange.

I've been to this restaurant twice and will come back. The food is 10/10. I'm a foodie and flavors were perfectly balanced, everything cooked well and all pairs nicely together. The cocktails are perfection as well. Special mention for the the mussels. The broth is so good that my fiancé and I love it so much we drink it like soup and dip with naan. Service was supper attentive and friendly as well!

Lamb Shank vindaloo & Chicken Tikka Original- Full, Garlic Naan

If you're looking for Indian food and kind of fancy, this is your spot. Felt so welcomed from the moment we walked in. It's a pretty big restaurant with a lot of seating. We did the restaurant week menu and was STUFFED. My husband got the pani puri which was probably the only dish we didn't like all night. The mango filling was way too sweet. Thankfully my goan mussels curry came just in time, it was absolutely delicious. I poured the curry into my puri shells and ate that. For entrees we got the chicken tikka and lamb shank vindaloo. The curries were so good. The vindaloo was just the right amount of spicy and the meat was falling off the bone. The chicken in the tikka was a little dry but still pretty good. We got rice with our dish and got a side of garlic naan. The naan was perfectly garlicky. Lastly for dessert I got the gulab jaman and my husband got the kulfi ice cream. He said the ice cream was a little gritty but to be expected when using kulfi, and the gulab jaman was very sweet but hit the sweet spot you want at the end of the dish. Overall we had plenty of food to bring home. And this was a great spot for restaurant week!

We went for La Grange Restaurant week so we could get a taste of a lot of different foods at a cheaper cost. It was so worth it! Our service was phenomenal and the food was even better. The ambiance was nice and every table had a candlestick. Cannot wait to eat here again!

This is my second time visiting Kama And this place never disappoints!! Tried the jackfruit tacos for the first time and absolutely loved it !! They are perfect balance of sweet and tangy :) The Roganjosh was absolutely fantastic and soft and tender! And of course my fav mango lassi !! Service was a bit slow due to weekend rush! I would visit this place again :)

My friend suggested this place last year and I decided to try it out for myself. We decided to go at 6pm to beat the dinner rush on a Friday. As the night progressed the place was getting packed. The place was very spacious with a bar in the center once you walk in. The drinks looked amazing. Since it was a dry January for me, I only looked at what people orders. We ordered a couple of the appetizers (Samosas and Mussels) to start. Both were so good. Inside of the samosas was flavorful with every bite. The mussels were delicious as well. We both had an entree. I ordered the mixed lamb grill. The lamb chops were so tender and the spiced lamb skewered meats were perfectly cooked. I loved the greens on top paired well with the savoriness of the meats. I ordered the Aloo Gobi as a side for my main dish. The cauliflower and potatoes were a nice offset of the lamb as well. We had three orders of the garlic naan. Love the large chunks of garlic! The staff were super nice, attentive and very accommodating. I can't wait to come back and try other items on the menu!

The food, service and ambiance are almost always as good as you can get in the western suburbs. It's not cheap but it's worth it.

Where to begin! I cannot even tell you how we came across this hidden gem, but I am SO glad we did!…read moreWhat a wonderful experience we had with them from the very beginning!! Probably most importantly, the food was the talk of the evening! Everyone loved the selection. We opted for family style and selected the Bella Ultimate, which allows for 2 meats. Of all the places we scouted, the prices and food is what really decided Bella Banquets was our place. It was wonderful to know I wasn't going to have to worry about the food, as we all know that's the one thing people talk about! Originally, we began working with Julie and she was wonderful. She left for maternity leave, and Olivia and Michelle took over. Being a little concerned I would have to go over everything all over, I was pleased to see she had it completely down pat. Michelle was always very helpful and prompt in response, and Olivia really was a dream to work with. She was like my own personal wedding planning assistant! She answered all my calls, all my emails, went back and forth with me a million times, sympathized with my tears and definitely went above and beyond anything I expected. She was always pleasant, even when I was being crazy. She knew when to be careful and when to be honest. She learned my style and my needs very quickly and made sure everything met my standards! The staff is AWESOME! Tony the bartender and Danielle the waitress ROCK! They remembered us every time we went in, and greeted us with hugs and kisses. There was another woman (forgive me, I can't remember her name; short dark hair), but during our rehearsal, she helped tame our children, got some pizzas ordered and helped us manage. Phyllis, the banquet manager, took her own notes during our rehearsal, and when I realized I'd forgotten to send the most updated seating chart, she went table by table with me to make sure it was perfect! The owner also personally greeted us both at our initial meeting and the day after our wedding to make sure everything was perfect. Such a great guy! They were able to use the dividing wall to perfectly separate the ceremony area from the reception area and included refreshments out in the foyer for the 15 minutes between. The venue itself is beautiful! The Italian chandeliers, the covered drive up to lace-etched double glass doors. The banquet room has these gorgeous mirrors framed in soft ivory arches, adds serious drama to the room! There is a curved stairway in the corner that is perfect for a grand entrance, and leads to a bridal suite with its own private bathroom. There is a sofa, a desk and several chairs to accommodate just the bride or the wedding party. There is also another room that they use for a meeting space that can be used as a separate bridal suite if requested. (We were a 2 bride wedding.) They offered valet and have their own personal parking lot behind the venue. I cannot stress enough how perfect this place is. Over a year of crazy wedding planning and back and forth on so many decisions, we were always warmly welcomed; nothing negative to say at all! We have 3 daughters and are already planning on using Bella Banquets for their cotillions. Perfecto!

PLEASE READ RECENT REVIEWS THIS IS UNDER NEW MANAGEMENT! I…read morewould not recommend this place at all, starting off the entrance appears nice and is a decent size The chandeliers are actually so pretty but The rug makes the place look dirty it needs to be replaced. Half of the restrooms were "Out of order" was inconvenient for such a large event. They cloth tables with house linen that is cheap and some were stained, I can understand that's to be expected when using white house linen but they should inspect it before putting it on tables. They had mix matched Napkins they could not even make that uniform some were a good quality and some normal house napkins. They have an obvious lack of knowledge of banquet table settings as soon as I sat down I noticed the silverware was not placed correctly on ANY table but what was I going to do fix the 200+ settings? they also did not know how to properly fill chaffers, when I went to help the family place the food they brought I needed to fill and light chaffers, the owner told me with the rudest tone that I didnt know what I was doing that I over filled the chaffer and went to dump the "extra water" - Mind you I work in Catering at a University and set up 15-20 basic catering events A DAY and do about 20 LARGE BANQUETS (meaning the client is spending 15k and over on a single event) a month. And she never lit the Sternos so the food got cold we had to light them with our own lighter when we realized. Moving on to the food it was Awful the soup was cold, the salad had been prepped way too early so when it came out it was soggy and gross, chicken was bland, veggies were over cooked and they had another meat but I refused to even try it because it looked like someone left that out overnight. Thankfully they allowed outside food and I ate that but the problem there was when we wanted to grab said food there were no utensils to serve and after asking 2 servers we had to ask the Host to get them because One server flat out said no and the other one Ignored us. There was supposed to be constant soda at the tables but some tables waited forever to get refills. The servers used carts to roll around plates and equipment which looked so bad and got in the way of people. I was SO MAD when the birthday girls court had to walk around A cart for their entrances. A true server can carry plates and platters by hand or on a serving tray no need for a cart to roll around. The Owner and her daughter were helping as servers and bartenders but they were dressed so sloppy the owner was wearing LEGGINGS and a V neck long sleeve top! - Also not a single person in that kitchen had a hair net on .... They also were not pouring full pours when making drinks. It was supposed to be an open Full bar and they didnt have or know how to make but 4 basic drinks. I asked for an amaretto sour and they didn't know how to make it and after telling them how surprise surprise they said they didn't have it. the bar was also closed for majority of the night but when it came down to the last 30 minutes where they turned into a cash bar the two didn't move from there ready to serve any and everyone. Over all I was displeased with the venue, I had them on my list for venues to look at in 2028 for my daughters quince but after this I wouldn't even host a book club meeting here. Working in catering I know things can get hectic but this place not only was not up to standard, the food was not good at all (I'd rather eat cafeteria food) and customer service was Awful. The owner did say they recently took it over but I don't see them lasting.
