Well, not just any wedding planner - you really should consider and call Tying the Knot. I'll admit it, when I was first engaged, I was skeptical about having a wedding planner. I thought, "what can they really help me with? I love to plan, I've figured it all out." MEH, Wrong. Turned out - having Brooke around really helped us with staying on track, planning and the overall timing of everything we needed to do. Everyone at Tying the Knot is very helpful and knowledgeable. I never felt like I was bothering them with any of my 1001 questions I may have had (or more). Getting married and all of the planning is a really big deal and it takes a lot of planning that most people don't have the time for. Consider the value of your time and invest that to some great wedding planners at Tying the Knot. You might go "hmm...do I need this" at first but when it's all said and done...and everything went smoothly...you'll be happy you went the route of a wedding planner.

I met with Ryan, who is professional but also just a cool dude. You can tell he gets it, and is up on the trends in the music and entertainment world. He took me through a whole presentation and explained how all of the wedding could be planned through their portal. The portal makes sure you address all the possible needs of a wedding- cocktail hour, first dances, bouquet tosses, and even if you want to accept requests or not, etc., but it's easy to indicate if you're skipping anything as well. His presentation was thorough and answered all my questions so I booked them the next day. I just went with their 6 hour DJ package, but they also offer longer packages with additional lighting and sound features, uplighting, fabric, photo booths, etc. You could really get a lot taken care of through this company! Although Ryan was not our DJ, the DJ we had (Chris B.) was very good. He played a great mix of songs and lots of people were dancing all night!! The guy never took a break, even though I did plan for him to eat dinner. My only two issues, which really weren't a big deal was that at one point the Christmas song "Silver Bells" came on during cocktail hour, and I promise that was not a song request. The other thing was that a few of our selected dance songs weren't the exact version I expected to here, but it was still the correct song overall so it wasn't a big deal. I highly recommend Non-Stop entertainment!

From our first interaction with Ryan, to working with Gina on our design, to the event itself...this team was amazing! Everyone was super nice, responsive, and very easy to work with. The Photo Booth itself was very sleek looking, and the props were awesome. We had no problems, and are very satisfied with how everything turned out. The record high flooding in Chicago happened on our wedding day. Yes, our venue flooded. With the generosity of our caterer who had their own venue and Katie's help, we were able to move venue, get everything setup, and had the best wedding ever! Katie took care of the entire move! I didn't even break a sweat through all this all because I know I can trust Katie to get the job done. Katie was so helpful throughout the wedding planning process and very good with what she does: making sure your day is as perfect as it can be for you!

Our wedding felt flawless thanks to Kara.. if anything went wrong, she fixed it, and we knew nothing about it.. she did everything in her power to make our day go smoothly and look beautiful... After talking to almost every wedding planner in the greater chicagoland area I thought Amy is just too good to be true. So in true OCD crazy bride fashion I asked for references and previous brides to talk to about their experience. Amy did not even blink or make me feel totally insane which is a quality every bride should look for in a wedding planner. We thankfully chose the full planning package, because we were planning our Chicago wedding from across the country. Amy responded to every midnight email, every pacific coast phone call and never made us feel like we were alone. Arin did incredible work (and with such grace, patience, and enthusiasm). She emailed back and forth with the band, caterer, flower vendor, and venue contacts to make the perfect timeline. She made copies of our marriage license, readings, schedule, contracts, and contacts. She handled taking all the wedding sundries (the bathroom baskets, programs, signage) to the venue. She collected our marriage license, gratuity for all the vendors, and even offered to personally check us into our hotel so we don't have to think about it--all things we would have had to do ourselves or delegate. The pricing at Big City Bride is incredibly reasonable, especially considering all the work that they can do. We had the best day and were able to enjoy every second because of Arin!

The end product was beautiful, classy, and more stunning than I could have imagined.
