Happy Hour Review! The perfect happy hour spot in Downtown LaGrange! My husband and I ventured in on a weekday and sat at the bar for Happy Hour. Pete took care of us and went above and beyond to make our visit special. We ask suggestions for cocktails and he had great recommendations. My husband got the Adventure Land and Pete made me an "off menu" Last Word cocktail with mezcal he had been loving to make. This drink was amazing to say the least! It was frothy yet fruity and very balanced. The Adventure Land was also great and exactly what one wants in a summertime gin drink. I later also tried the One Upon a Time in Mexico which gave more of a mezcal spritz vibe. It was lighter and refreshing. For food, we shared the Scallops as well as the Gnocchi. All Starters are 25% off during Happy Hour. Items can still come at a premium but they had so many options to choose from, portions were standard sizes, and quality was great. Pete offered a free birthday dessert but we were too full to accept the generous offer. I highly recommend stopping into Fourteensixteen to explore their menu and drinks!

Cute place, nice garage window and rooftop deck. Had the crab cakes, a Paloma and the hanger steak. All were delicious. I'd be interested in going back.

We had a great dinner here on a Friday night. The cocktail list has a lot of interesting options. I went with the fourteensixteen and really enjoyed it. Four of us shared the prosciutto flatbread and this was perfect as a starter. It was delicious and large enough for all of us to share without filling us up before our entrees. It was hard to decide from among all the tempting entree selections, but I was very happy with my choice of the pork tenderloin. It was cooked perfectly with a delicious seasoning and the corn and zucchini went perfectly with it. We shared some desserts and I split the spiced chocolate cake with my sister. It was wonderful; the spice was subtle, but definitely there adding a bit of something extra to the flavor. Service was excellent; our server knew the menu well and courses were nicely paced. The atmosphere is casual with an industrial decor. Parking was easy to find nearby on the street, but the garage is not far if all the nearby lots are full like they were the night we visited, and you want to avoid street parking.

Came here for the first time, and we were pleasantly surprised. First it seemed assuming from the outside, but once inside, it has a warm and cozy ambient. The staffs were friendly and patience with questions. The menu was small (ie not pages of options) but the items were thoughtfully curated. Best of all, it listed Gluten Free option! There was also wine and drink menu. I was able to custom order a mocktail. Even though the menu listed Gluten Free, I would suggest to inform the staff when placing order. Our waiter was very diligent in explaining. Overall, the food was amazing! Both the fish and the pork were too cooked to the right texture. They were flavorful but not too overwhelmed. My favorite of the desserts was Passionfruit & Coconut - it was a firm custard center with popping boba on top. The crust of Apple Tart was my least favorite of the three - the crust was soft and did not have the typical tart shell crunch.

We celebrated my nephew at fourteensixteen for his 8th grade graduation! The service was immaculate We started with appetizers. We shared the grape flatbread. I had scallops and we ended with multiple desserts. Everyone loved their food. Everything was delicious a wonderful time.

My son and daughter in law had their wedding here. Very nice time. It was very clean, well staffed, Friendly servers. The food was good. The bakery was very, very good. I would like to say they could have had the food warmer. The wedding turned out wonderful . So thank you.

What are you looking for in a restaurant ? Yummy food ? Check ! Consistent yummy food across the board and not just one or two dishes? Check Good customer service ? Check Appropriately prompt service ? Check Good drinks ? Check (although my fourteen sixteen cocktail was heavy on the alcohol but that can be a fluke, although if there is a drink special named after the restaurant I would not mess that one up ) So voilá! Bon appétit! Highly recommend if you are in the area.

Chicken was delish but too much for one sitting.

The rooftop dining is peaceful and the food was delicious. Enjoyed the chicken and the heirloom tomato salad. They make a great espresso martini too

I've been here several times. The decor is very cool. The staff is very nice. The food is good but not outstanding. Given the pricing, they need to step up their game.

Man, I'm SO mad someone got to review this gem before me. 3 Stars!? C'mon. This mo-fo is a…read morefiver. Be forewarned, I use the word "gem" loosely. The previous poster was right, Joe's Saloon is on 47th Street just west of Plainfield. If you're coming from 1st Avenue, it's about a Mile west. I like this bar because of the odd, undeliberate charm, cheap drinks (ahem dollar Schlitz all day everyday), decent jukebox (used to be awesome before they went digital... Patsy Cline awesome), and the infamous Dollar Mystery Shots. Your choice of A, B, and sometimes C, depending on what stock the owner, Ellen, thinks they need to get rid of. Bartenders are laid-back and can put a drink to a face -- I rolled in after not being there for 6 months and they had it poured before I could say hi. The late-great Joe is adorned on a small canvas above the windows and REAL!? wood paneling on the east wall. Soft orangish-red neon illuminates most of the saloon, glowing up from behind wood molding - Not an ideal lighting plan, but almost accidentally the PERFECT lighting level. The bar isn't really a "kept secret" at all -- housed in a stand-alone building with all-season Christmas lights framing the peaked roof, it's not that hard to spot. That said, it owes a lot of its odd mix of clientele to it's location. People that roll into Joe's aren't there on accident. The south side of the street is a vast empty expanse that used to be a massive train depot for the nearby quarry, and the north side of the street is an industrial/9-to-5 business strip where even the liquor store closes early. Now that I've played the alcoholic sociologist, lemmie posit that the out-of-the-way-ness of the bar directly contributes to what kind of people come through the door -- people that specifically left the house to be at Joe's. Aside from College Break overspill (Easter, Spring Break, Winter Break), there's always a place to sit and rarely an loudmouth over-served coed to scowl at. This place can be blue collar, no collar, and popped collar at different times of the day (and if a sporting event is on). There's live music for a cover sometimes, but nothing too consistent. There's a terrific Quizzo once a month, though the questions skew towards the 40-something locals that attend and run the quiz. (One standard category is called "Where are you in the Western Suburbs", another was "Local TV News Anchors".) But, you're there for the experience anyway, so, whatev. While other locals are living past glories with their gym teachers at Kenny's, avoiding eye-contact with old flames at Palmer's or packing it in at local cavern-turned-Irish-bar Brixie's, what filters through to Joe's are the low-key neighborhood joes of all ages looking to sit back, drink, play Meatloaf on the jukebox and maybe play a round or two of Word Dojo.

Outstanding food, creative menu with dozens of options, great prices, and enticing daily specials…read more If it was closer, I'd eat here once a week.

Their beer and drink selection has always been a plus for me, but since I'm currently on a healthier eating kick, I really appreciated having plenty of lighter options to choose from. And you can turn any salad into a wrap. They also have a great kids menu, and our toddler's meal happened to be free that day. A free toddler meal? Say less. Our waitress was kind and very attentive and honestly we've never had an issue with service here. It's also a great stop after spending the day at Brookfield Zoo. Good food, plenty of drinks for the adults, options for the little ones, and everyone leaves happy.

It was just okay.. I ordered a Paloma, my husband ordered a beer. My husband is picky about tap…read morebeer and said he didn't LOVE his Modelo, so stick with bottles if you're a stickler for that sort of thing. My Paloma was okay, heavy pour which is appreciated, made better after squeezing an extra lime. Large menu, drinks & food selection is crazy big. For food, my husband ordered 3 sliders with only the patty & cheese; smelled great coming out. The patty portion was smaller than expected but with the special going on, hard to complain he said it tasted very good. He also ordered tater tots, which did not arrive after waiting awhile, it was decided they weren't necessary so no fuss. I will say we weren't charged so could've just been an honest mistake. I ordered wings & chips with salsa. Chips were nice and hot coming out, salsa verde was fine with a bit of heat not sure if it was made fresh or not. Wings are HUGE but flavors were lacking. I picked Mild & Cajun dry rub. Cajun was much better as the Mild felt a bit soggy.. Very very clean for a "sports" bar, large selection of games on the TVs so everyone had something to watch. Server was very kind and personable, checking in at least once after our initial food was brought out. Would I come again? Maybe just for drinks if an important game was showing. Price felt a little high for what you get, but our server was still nice so no reason to take it out of her tip!!
