I had my first appointment at Kalon a few days ago and I don't know that I'll go anywhere else ever again. I went in for a hair cut with Emily and I left elated about my new do! All that I knew I wanted was a trim, layers and curtain bangs. She worked her magic on my thick Cambodian hair and I just could not be any happier with my experience. I left wanting to come back for a balayage coloring next time! The salon itself is both modern and contemporary. I really loved the atmosphere that they created at Kalon - it really added to the experience. It's also nice to know that they have their own covid protocols in place which include requiring appointments, calling upon arrival, and mandated face masks. Came here to get my hair colored and to get a little bit of layers. Color turned out good but this cut was horrible. Got this done right before a family trip, my hair was curled at the salon so I did not see how bad it was till the next day when I washed and dried my hair. The layers were so choppy and uneven even leaving me with a bald spot. Even my dad told me to either curl my hair or put it up because it looked bad. They kindly gave me a refund but I will not be coming here again. read more

Honestly this place looks nice and the lady that help me was nice but I hated my hair, I still do, I asked for a short haircut down to my shoulders straight and I got a rounded way shorter than I wanted haircut, not to say I wanted some cute waves and got massive waves that made me look hideous, I will not come back like never, I rather wait until COVID is done and go to Miami to my forever loved hairdresser, sorry but this a no no no for me. read more

I've been seeing Melissa for years and known of Gina since their time at Simplicity Salon. So happy for them both in becoming owners of their own salon. Melissa has been doing my hair for years and I always get compliments of her work. She is always patient and we often try new things which always comes out FANTSTIC!! She even tells you straight up what is a great idea to what isn't; thank goodness!! She never lets me walk out unhappy !! Her color techinques are awesome and my daughter loves it too when she gets her hair done. I have visited the Kalon Hair Studio twice, and I have an appointment today. Everyone that works at this salon is extremely professional. I have extremely thick, long hair. My hair has a graying, wiry texture and isn't an easy mop to deal with. However, Liz is AMAZING. I walked in with frizzy, shapeless, horrible hair and walked out with shiny, stylish, and smooth hair. The color is PERFECTION. I have received so many compliments. Best of all, she takes the time to show me how to recreate the look when I am home. Tyler also provided me with exceptional customer service upon my arrival and when I called to make follow up appointments. This is a high end salon with high end results.. Worth every penny, in my opinion. A previous reviewer suggested that the majority of the five star reviews were from staff members and/or the family. I don't know anyone at the salon personally. Kalon is the place my hair calls home. EVERYONE here is great and very talented, but Emily is my #1 girl as I can give her the vaguest idea of what I want with my hair and she will transform it into something magical. She's the best!!! I always leave Kalon happy and excited about my new style. My boyfriend & my sister also go to Kalon and wouldn't choose any other salon after they discovered it. In addition, the atmosphere is like no other salon. It's so comfortable and not at all snobby like other salons I've been to. The decor is so cute and tasteful! Overall I would not trust anybody else with my hair other than Emily or the other girls that work there and the prices are VERY fair. read more
