Although my highlights came out nice my cut was by far the worst I have ever had. When I got home I found out why the stylist didn't offer me a mirror to see the back of my head, apparently she had removed a good bit of hair in the back making it very uneven. It was so bad that I took a pair of scissors and cut off a chunk that was way longer on the left side just to make it somewhat presentable. Also, instead of putting my hear up to make sure the undercut I got was even she did it piece by piece so now I have random medium lengths of hair on the sides so I can't put my hair up without embarrassment. I basically paid a bunch of money to get my hair butchered and now have to pay another salon to fix it. read more

I am so thankful for the amazing stylists at Heaven. I went to Noufal salon in Tysons corner for 8 years and was very happy there but when I moved to Front royal I had a very difficult time finding a new salon. I went to about 10 different salons before finding a home at Heaven. Everyone is friendly and helpful. Michael is the best stylist I have ever been to. He clearly loves his work and he is a true expert. I dont have the easiest hair to work with and yet he always manages to make it beautiful. He is AMAZING with color and such a talented stylist. He really cares about the health of your hair. The condition of my hair has improved so much since I have been going to him. I trust him completely with my hair and that is very rare for me. Third time at this salon yesterday, and it will be my last! A dog runs loose in the salon, sitting on chairs next to clients and getting underfoot. Waited over 30 minutes after appt time to have roots touched up, & then after shampoo, waited another 30 minutes with wet hair wrapped in towel to have hair dried/styled. Daniel spent less than 5 minutes putting styling cream in my curly hair, and then briefly used a diffuser. He took off the cape, no mirror offered or feedback requested, and I said it is really frizzy - my hair felt rough and fuzzy, which is not typical when I style at home. He sprayed it with water, scrunched a bit & then indicated he was finished by walking to the front of the shop where I was to pay. I said to the receptionist that I hoped I wasn't going to be asked to pay for styling because I wouldn't want to be seen in public with my hair in the frizzy & unkempt state Daniel had left it in. She said that they had had several walk-ins and had been swamped. Apparently, I was going to be charged for the "styling" & she got up & consulted with Daniel at the back of the shop; through her he offered to rewet & try again, but by then I had been there for more than 2 hrs just for color, having spent a full hour waiting, and said I just want to go home. I felt like crying - my hair looked awful, curls not defined and very fuzzy, no real style, just a mess. I was only charged for the color, but can't imagine going back after such poor service. I would not recommend this salon to anyone! read more

I've been going to the same stylist in Alexandria for years. I moved to Winchester, VA and decided to try to find someone local. It's a huge leap of faith to try someone new when you're forced to change to a new person; however, I did my research and chose this salon. Haley was my stylist. It had been too long since my last appointment and she did a great job. The color was good and I liked the cut as well. She was conservative which is reasonable considering I was a new client. She was personable and friendly. The appointment took over 3 hours though. After my appointment I made my follow-up appointment with the desk staff for 6 weeks out. I went in for my appointment today. Keep in mind that the salon is half hour from my house so I essentially had to block out a little over 4 hours to allow enough time for my appointment and travel time. I was told that they didn't have me on the schedule for today. I asked when they did have me on the schedule and was advised that they didn't. The desk staff offered for me to see another stylist or come back tomorrow. It's unacceptable. I don't want to see another new person. I don't have the flexibility to block out 4 hours the next day on a whim. I want people to do the job they're supposed to do. I walked out. Haley, as a stylist, was completely adequate, but if the desk staff can't handle scheduling appropriately then the whole business falls apart. I can't make appointments for the future and just hope they have it down and I don't want to be responsible for constantly double checking them. They've lost a customer. I'll just make the trek to Alexandria where the stylist is beyond amazing and I've never, not once, in 8 years had an issue like this. read more

I don't remember the name of the girl who did my hair, but she cut it shorter than i wanted. I asked for long natural layers, and they look choppy. and when she asked me how i wanted it styled, i told her i wanted big loose curls, and she made the tiniest curls with a hair straightener (which was pulling my hair out the whole time), as if she didn't have 2 hair curlers right in front of her. she also didn't use any heat protectant, just some serum and hairspray so it felt crunchy too. Left looking stupid and had to redo my hair when i got home. Color application was okay i guess but i won't be coming back here. read more

Don't bother wasting your time with this place. I heard good things about them and that's why I gave it a shot. I scheduled an appt online and payed ahead of time but there was some confusion while online so I called to finish scheduling it. Everything went smooth until I go to show up for my appt and they told me I cancelled it!! Why would I cancel an appt and still show up?? Then they tried telling me it was on my end that I was the one to cancel it! Not only did they schedule over me but they also tried to blame the customer. I won't be going back here again nor will I recommend it to anyone. read more

Our daughter was married this past weekend near Winchester VA. We are not from the area so my research into salons consistently showed excellent feedback on Heaven The Salon Experience. At 8 am 10 of us had appointments for hair. We were welcomed by everyone immediately upon entering the large, sleek, warm and very clean salon. All the stylists were so friendly and knowledgeable. Everyone's hair looked fabulous. The bride had extensions and wore her hair long and her bridesmaids had up dos. The day before one of our guests had a manny peddy and she came back to the hotel so enthusiastic about how friendly her technician was and how welcoming and modern the salon is. We could not have found a better salon! read more

Update 6/30/16: I called the salon to make an appointment and the desk staff went above and beyond to help me. I wanted a specific stylist and have a tight schedule. Thank you to the staff at Heaven for their professionalism and patience with me. The skill of the stylist is very good. They listened and were very professional. The salon did have a bit of a factory aire. I think the stylist must be scheduled very strictly. The atmosphere reflects that. Particularly the receptionist. They were my least favorite experience. They are more into themselves and whatever rules they have, then taking care of the customers. Come here for skilled stylist only. read more

Love this place and the people. Very big and beautiful inside. I had my hair done by Ciera and it looked really good after she curled it but the next day when I washed and straightened my hair, it was uneven and crooked. I had to go to another salon to get it fixed and the hair dresser was shocked to see how bad the cut actually was. I don't think I will return for a cut. read more

I was so happy to find this salon when I moved to Winchester. I went once last summer and they did a good job on my hair. What I missed was talking to one person about what I wanted and having THAT person cut my hair. They use a team approach and it felt a little impersonal. This is the 22nd, and the dye is still coming out of my hair. It ruined a blouse and several towels. It was done on the 16th of April, and I didn't wash my hair until the 19th. The water on my shower floor was red. Obviously, something wasn't done correctly, in addition to the mix-up on my hair cut. You can rest assured, I will never be back to your salon. read more

I've been going to Kisha Martin at Heaven Salon for several years now. She does an amazing job. I won't let anyone else touch my hair. Having short hair, it's important to go to someone that really knows how to cut short hair. It makes a huge difference. You can have an ok short cut or you can have a phenomenal short cut. Kisha gives me a phenomenal cut every time! She's always learning new techniques and gives me variety, which is not easy with short hair. Love her and love the salon. I've gone to Heaven for about three or four years, not as frequently as every 6-8 weeks as suggested because of price, but for every haircut or color. Because I was so happy with their work, I decided to have my hair and makeup as well as my six bridesmaids' hair and makeup done here for my wedding this past July. I put down the deposit requested months in advance and had the contract made up, notifying them of any changes the bridesmaids requested as they occurred (like getting both hair AND makeup done versus just hair or just makeup - I let the bridesmaids decide). On the day of my wedding, everything went fairly well. I showed the stylists looks of what I wanted for my hair and makeup, as well as what the bridesmaids and I had agreed on for their hair and makeup. I wanted to keep mostly neutral tones, and I specifically said that I wanted the bridesmaids to look like themselves. However, after a few of my bridesmaids had their makeup done, some of them had a very dark burgundy lipstick on - not neutral at all. While the girls were still beautiful, it wasn't what we'd asked for. Then - here's the BIGGEST issue we had - when we went to pay after we were all excited about our hair and makeup (minus the DARK lipstick), there was a misunderstanding. I thought that we would be able to use separate payments to pay for the services done, especially considering I used one form of payment for the deposit and was planning to split the payment (bridesmaids had agreed to pay for their own hair & makeup); however, we weren't able to do this. They wouldn't let us split the payments on cards, so a few of the bridesmaids had to run to the nearest ATM and get cash. Instead of being polite about it, one of the receptionists was extremely rude, explaining to me that "that's why there's a contract, so that things like this don't happen." On. My. Wedding. Day. We were apologetic and kind about the situation, yet she completely put a damper on the excitement and happiness on one of the most important days of my life... and for no reason. We were taking care of the situation, we just didn't understand that it had to be one form of payment, especially since no where on the contract does it say it needs to be ONE form of payment. The payment was also increased by over $300 without any mention of it - air brush is $15 extra (which the makeup artist mentioned to me, and I was fine with, but she did not mention it to anyone else when she offered it to them), and fake lashes are also $15 extra, which she also mentioned to me and no one else when she offered them to others. Our bill went from being $600 to being over $1000. Based on this experience, mainly because of the extremely rude and unthoughtful receptionist on my wedding day, I will NEVER return. The only thing it woud've taken to keep me a returning customer is a little bit of kindness and understanding... anyone who has planned a big wedding knows how stressful and hectic it is, and how easily little details get overlooked. Luckily, I have found a new salon that does amazing work, is more reasonably priced, AND they are all so kind. Choose kind. read more

I was a super impressed with Heaven from my first appointment over a year ago. However, I feel inclined to write a review about my most recent experience. I had to make an appointment at another salon to due to family pictures. I was scheduled to go to Heaven the following week, which would have been too late, so I ended up cancelling the appointment. My stylist has now blocked me on social media. So if you start going to Heaven, don't ever go anywhere else because you will be treated like you are a bad person. read more

Dani did my hair and it was absolutely the best experience I've had regarding salons. Dani took the time to address my concerns and give me a fantastic new do. They have complimentary wine and a head massages as well. Dani's work is perfect for any special occasion. I looked like a rockstar when I left. I went in with medium brown hair wanting to change it up a bit. I wanted to go an auburn color with lots of brown tones and hints of caramel highlights. When the stylist Helen was done coloring my hair and washed it out we went to the mirror and my roots were bright orange. My hair excluding my roots looked okay but, not at all what I was going for it was a very gingery color with very blonde tones. I called and told them I was not satisfied and went back the next day. She made my roots a very very vibrant red and did not pull it through to where the rest of the colors meshed well. Also, I must have been allergic to whatever dye they use because, I came home with hives all over. Overall not a very great experience and will not be going back. read more

At first I was going to write a bad review after going to Heaven and getting by far the worst highlight ever. I was so embarrassed I didn't want to leave the house. I contacted the salon and spoke to the office manager, after hearing about my hair disaster she scheduled a time for me to come in to have it fixed. This is why they are getting 5 stars.... Dani did an awesome job and my hair looks a million times better. She took her time and went over what she was going to do to fix my hair. She offered me the extras that I didn't even know about...a scalp massage....heck yeah. She also styled my hair however I wanted it. The staff at Heaven are very professional and I appreciate all of their help. I will continue to go to the salon because they did everything they could to make me happy and to see me smile as I was leaving. read more

My hair looked great when I left. I had so much curl, I couldn't see how bad the hair cut was. The worst cut in a long time. Sad part is I paid $40 there and then paid another $40+ plus to have it fixed at another salon. Who also agreed it was a bad/ chopped hair cut. On the plus side the people are very nice. read more

I've went there a few times and they are very inconsistent. First time my hair was nice, second time I loved it, third time it was HORRIBLE and last time it was pretty bad as well. The stylists have an attitude and not a good one. Last time my hair was washed with ice-cold water, because of problems with their pipes, which we were all just informed of as a "btw". Today I went to their new location, which looks pretty. I had my children with me, and was snapped at by one of the stylists (Kisha) immediately, because my children were touching a stuffed animal that they had on display. I was then told that children aren't welcome and that I needed to leave and reschedule at a different time. My children would ruin "the experience" for the other clients. It was Monday afternoon around 2:30 pm and I was the ONLY client in the building. My children are two and four years old and I came prepared with crayons, coloring books and other books. My older was sitting quietly on the couch reading of those books. Normally they would be with a babysitter, but today that just didn't work out that way. Again I was their only client at that point. Maybe they are trying to be a fancy salon now, but by being arrogant and rude, they may lose more customers. My stylist never came out to talk to me in person. She send the one with the horrible attitude out. I'm an easy customer, usually tip at least 20% and am loyal to the place of business, which is why I came back even after my hair looked horrible after the third visit. If you treat customers that way, I won't go there again and I certainly would advise other people to stay away. read more
