My boyfriend and I loved the family-owned feel of the place. Rita's husband was working the front desk as locals wandered in to congratulate Rita on her new place. His hand is bruised and swollen to the point he can't remove his ring. A verbal or written warning -- or better yet, a COVER -- could prevent injuries. Also, when we were checking out, the gal asked if we wanted to add a gratuity, which puts the customer in an uncomfortable spot to say yes/no and how much. Why not leave envelopes out for people to put cash in IF they choose to leave a tip, vs. having the employee ask the customer?
