KAISERECK DELI is most defiantly "The Sausage KING of Vancouver" and is serving the best TUBE STEAKS in all of BC. Drawn in by the pungent aroma of Bavarian flesh grilled near by it drew me over to find an oasis of meat sticks. Yes, the 20 person deep line said it all, yet I had to know for myself. Standing in line I eagerly awaited till it's my turn. Well, I'm up and ready to order and folks it's gonna be a COMBO 2 day. Bratwurst extra grilled , chips & tasty beverage. Ok, my order is ready and I move around the corner and slather my John Holmes sized tube steak with a splash of mustard. I now sit and thrust this man sized Bratwurst down the pipe. With each masticating bite I savor the juices bursting from my Brawt. Folks you really need to purchase 2 at a time to double fist your serving. Needless to say I enjoyed it very much, was it good for you as well??? Located in the Granville Island Market is where you'll come to euphoria. It's a tad loud and seating on a summer day is hard to get. However worth it in my opinion. Now get some and stop ready! Frank B approved & it shows !

Combo pierogi, sausage and sautéed onions and sauerkraut meal $18 CA

Overall 3.5 Stars Located in the Public Market of Granville Island Vancouver. A grab and go place that serves German food. Service was quick and efficient and my wife was able ordered before a huge crowd walked up to the line. Fresh food cooked and served immediately. Ambiance- no seating, order and take it to o e of the public tables. Food: 3.5 Stars $18 Ordered the sausage and mixed pierogi combo. Served w did you was it served sour cream with sweet sauerkraut and sautéed onions. The pierogies were fine however, some of the dough was tough and chewy. Some of the pierogi had onions or cheese; great with the sour cream. The sausage was the highlight of the dish. Snappy, juicy, and meaty. Highly recommend to use German mustard for the sausage and pierogis. Asked for a bowl so you can get your side of condiments.

Poutine and pierogis- 8 CAD each- sooo good

Poutine fries and onion and bacon pierogis- steak at 8 bucks each in their happy hour on weekdays. Service is quick. Right at the entrance of the market.

Eastern European comfort foods in the middle of Vancouver - this is the stuff that we of eastern european descent live for. We were in Granville Public Market for just a few hours for dinner on our first night in the city and we're drawn to the comfort delights and available vegetarian options at Kaisereck. My wife and I shared a bowl where they combined the 2 types of vegetarian perogies (Chedder and Potato, and Potato and Onion) topped with sour cream and carmelized onions. It was a decent first course in our self-guided dinner tour through the market. These perogies aren't deep fried so they have a nice healthier tasting housing for their insides. Good stuff! Had we not had a plan to sample a lot of little things throughout the market, I definitely would have tried a version of one of their sausage plates using the available vegan Beyond Sausage which looked like a descent effort to make vegetarians feel like real people. ;) Poutine is available too (though not sure if the grvy is vegetarian) and their pretzels with available cheese dip look pretty solid as well.

Dishonest Pricing and Poor Customer Service at Kaisereck Delicatessen I visited Kaisereck Delicatessen at Granville Island and paid with $50 USD for a bill of $45.20 CAD. The cashier didn't mention anything about conversion rates and only gave me back $4.80 CAD in change. When I questioned the discrepancy, he tried to mansplain that they charge a 10% fee for using USD due to conversion costs. I agreed to the upcharge, but after going back and forth over the math, I proved that I was still being overcharged. Only then did he reluctantly return the additional missing change. If I hadn't pressed the issue, I would have been shorted even more. This experience left a bad taste in my mouth, and I can't recommend a place that isn't upfront about their pricing or honest with their customers. Beware if you plan to pay with USD!

Stopped in for a later afternoon snack of Poutine, pretzels and fries. All were cooked fresh, reasonably prices and were great!

The line moves at a decent pace. We ordered: Poutine: 3/5 pretty salty, fries were good Perogies:5/5 really tasty and nice texture dumplings! They are really generous with the sour cream and grilled onions! We grabbed our food and sat on their outdoor patio.

Omg mini pierogies!! We ordered a cup of the potato and onion and were in heaven! We shared one order so that we could try other options at the market, but after having these, we struggled not to go back and get a second one! Yuuuuum! The mini size is perfect. A lot easier than trying to use a fork to cut regular size ones into bite size pieces. Be sure to take your food outside and enjoy your treats along the water. There's a view you can't get for lunch anywhere else!

Was at Granville Island for lunch and had to try this place serving German hot dogs! The flavor was really delicious. For $18CAD, I got a beer, hot dog, and chips; what a combo!

A friend and I did a pretzel run around Vancouver last year and I wish I had known of this place then! Definitely among top 2 contenders. Only got the pretzel and it was a breezy process. I came up to pay at the till then stepped aside to wait for it to come out. It only took around 3-4 minutes. Came up to $5.20 including tax, which is quite reasonable in my opinion. I really enjoyed the texture. I think it's important to point out that this is a SOFT pretzel, not like some pretzels served in other places with a dough-ier, tougher bread-like consistency. Would get it again and satiated my salty craving, especially around Oktoberfest.

Had the onion with cream pierogis and it was fine, initially tasty but gets old fast over time the more you eat. Would come back to try again though!

    Bratwurst

I really like this restaurant's logo of a friendly German man. My friend and I shared the bratwurst, and the sausage had a very nice flavour. The sausage comes with onions and sauerkraut on it, with a self-serve toppings and condiments bar for additional options. We both agreed that the bun was not as enjoyable. It was very flaky and dry. The salty potato chips complemented the bratwurst well.

We ordered the schnitzel plate and a side of fries instead of the potato salad. They gave us the potato salad but had no issue switching out for the fries once we reminded them. Staff was kind and the food was quick and tasty. The fries were seasoned really well

What a phenomenal location! In the summer, there's an outdoor seating area which is literally right by the water, and the view is gorgeous. And in cooler months, the restaurant interior is amazing, as they suspended a lot of vibrant, arresting neon signs from the ceiling, reminiscent of the downtown Tokyo alleyways and street scenes. Whoever did the interior design of this place, my hat's off to you! It's incredibly effective and eye-catching. Now for the food review....wow, it's super good. They specialize in skewers here, and you can get all sorts of shish kebab-like skewers, for a wide range of price points, too. But the dish that really blew my kid and I away was the grilled eggplant. I can't say enough good things about this dish. It was absolutely delicious, and we'd go back again for this dish alone. Our server was lovely and very patient in describing all the various skewers and plates. Oh, and I really liked the service-wear and pottery, too. Very authentic. When my kid and I dined here, the restaurant was fairly new and it didn't have its liquor license yet, but when I last passed here on my seawall walks, I noticed a sandwich board outside the door advertising its Happy Hour specials. So I assume they have their liquor license now. This a a great little restaurant with a great ambiance in a great area. What a wonderful addition to the neighborhood!

Plenty of beef slices and enoki mushroom. I really have to recommend this dish. Also had a pile of their skewers. Taiwanese sausage, chicken gizzard, and 2 flavours of wings. Not the cheapest, but similar in pricing to the competition. Everything got gobbled up. Delicious. Honestly I wish more people knew about this place. I think the only thing stopping them is the rather "bad" (not too visible) location. The 5 star rating for dinner remains.

The second time there were clams and lamb neck? The things that were the same: tomato egg, dumplings, steamed baos, chineze fried donut, and cold dishes like bean sprouts, smashed cucumbers, tea egg, tofu dessert. They also have hot soy milk for drinks. Their deep fried chinese donut has got to be the best I've ever had in my life. With the price of a pair of fried donut being over $6 these days, I get my fix here. Other things are standard, good but not outstanding. I really like having soy milk to drink instead of water. $18.88 is getting a little steep for a limited choice buffet with not too many meat choices. The crab/clam are a nice addition but if there are days without it, it wouldn't be worth. I would rate the food from this place higher than the similar chinese lunch box style place in richmond, K squared mansion.
