I was having some recurring leg, shoulder, arm, and back issues that were affecting my quality of…read morelife, so I reached out to my PCP about physical therapy and they referred me to this place. A friend of mine told me that they had gone there before and filled me in on the best parts of what they have to offer. I was very excited to try it out and get relief from all the pain and tension in my body. However, I quickly realized that the expectations that I had in my head did not align with reality. The location itself is on the first floor of a building and to enter the building (from the parking lot), you must go through a security checkpoint. They don't allow vapes, sharp objects, or metal canteens, so if you have any of these items, you will be forced to turn around and go back. Upon walking in, there is no signage indicating if there is a line or where to form one; when it's busy, there is a jumble of bodies you must try to navigate. There is seating around the walls, and it is usually loud in the reception area. If the receptionists aren't talking on the phone or amongst each other about their Starbucks order, you will have to try and force eye contact for assistance. When seeking assistance, if you interrupt them, you are treated like an annoyance. The whole experience felt overwhelming and the uncertainty of what to do or what to expect added to it. My first visit, Kash, a physical therapy student, was very nice. His instructions on what to do were clear and after he did an assessment and asked some questions, a plan for therapy was formed. When I finally returned for my second visit, this is where things got a whole lot more uncomfortable. I don't know why, but I had envisioned working one on one with a trainer. This was not the case. Apparently, when you are finished, you have to flag down one of their staff to be told what to do next. They started me on an arm machine by the wall, very close to the speaker and it was so loud, my ears were hurting. Thankfully, they turned it down. After starting some leg exercises with Kash, he stepped away. I assumed he would return but was unsure of when that may be. I continued my exercises and scanned the room for him. A short woman with fair skin and straight black shiny hair came up to me. "Are you done with the exercises?" she asked haughtily. "Oh, I was waiting for Kash, so I figured I'd just keep doing them until whatever is next." She grabbed the paper up from next to where I was sitting and said, "Well you need to let us know when you are done because we have things to do." I said "Oh, okay," and after she instructed me on what to do next, I spent the rest of the day wondering if I did or said anything that she may have taken offense to. After all my therapy was done for the day, I asked if she had a printout since I wouldn't remember the exercises. The same lady told me, "We don't do that here," very curtly and then walked away. I felt disheartened and wondered if I should even bother going back. After talking it over with a friend, we figured maybe she just had a bad day. This time, things seemed to mostly be ok, except it was jam packed with staff and patients. At some point, I was on the massage table, waiting for instructions on my next exercise when suddenly, the building got quiet and there was a large roar. A college basketball team on the television screen had scored a basket, and every single staff member on the floor abandoned what they were doing to huddle around the TV (it was March Madness). In all my time there, I felt that most of the staff were only engaged in talking with each other and that the customer service skills there were very lacking. At least this time, at the end of everything, Kash did give me a printout for some exercises. The final straw was when I missed a second visit. I had missed a visit before due to a pressing health issue I had to attend to. I had mentioned to one of the receptionists that I did not want to schedule an appointment before I left the country due to me possibly forgetting. She persuaded me to set one and then change it later, against my better judgment. Three weeks go by and I missed the appointment because, of course, I forgot to put it in my calendar and now someone from the office is calling me to tell me that I now have to speak to the manager and they can only accommodate me if I call in day-to-day. I have a literal disability that the staff should have been well aware of (I had written it down on my intake forms at the very beginning and mentioned it multiple times, to multiple staff) and none of their policies, procedures, or staff (except Kash) seem to accommodate a person like me. On top of that, I felt personally bullied by one of their team members on the floor. I thought about calling them to see if they could make this right, but I was on hold for about 10 minutes, which seems to happen pretty frequently. Overall, I am very disappointed. Gardena PT, do better!

This is a long overdue review!…read more I came to REPS Physical Therapy after my previous PT clinic was no longer in-network with United. I scheduled an appointment for a left chest muscle strain caused by an excessive bench press/chest workout, and I want to give a huge shout-out to Dr. Sam Coit and the physical therapy aide, Serena. Dr. Sam Coit is incredibly professional, attentive, and has a wonderful bedside manner. He combines multiple techniques, ranging from massaging and scraping to stretching the problematic area. More importantly, he is highly flexible! In one session, I mentioned that I had tennis elbow, and he addressed it immediately without needing a formal "re-evaluation" or turning me down just because it wasn't my primary complaint. Overall, he is a fantastic physical therapist. Serena is another attentive and wonderful physical therapy aide. She truly pays attention to your every move, rather than just telling you what exercise to do and walking away. Overall, highly recommended!!! Unfortunately, my insurance is now changing from United to Anthem, and REPS is not currently in-network with them. Please get in-network with Anthem so I can come back!

I couldn't lift my leg without sharp pain, and something as basic as tucking myself into bed by lifting the blanket with my right leg was a struggle. I was referred here and started working with Dr. Diego Kim, and it honestly made a huge difference. From the beginning, he took the time to thoroughly explain what was going on with my knee. Instead of just treating the pain, he helped me understand how my knee was compensating for weaker areas in my body, which was something I had never considered before. Treatment included hands-on work like working through tightness in my thighs and hip flexors, along with targeted exercises. The process required consistency, during the sessions and exercises I was assigned to do on my own, but it absolutely paid off. Thanks to his approach and guidance, I made a full recovery! Beyond just fixing my knee, he really opened my eyes to how the body works as a whole and the importance of strengthening all areas, not just the ones that hurt. I highly recommend REP's PT, especially if you're dealing with a lingering injury and want to actually understand and fix the root cause, not just the symptoms.

We've progressed from basic work to challenging, strength-focused sessions that have made a real difference in my chronic pain. Simply put, professionals like Jo are rare. I truly hope your organization recognizes what you have in him. Thanks, Jo! Also, this next one is for Ryan. I recently started attending the workout classes at Evolution PT, and they've been a fantastic addition to my routine. The wellness credits from PT sessions make it easy to get started, and the classes themselves are incredibly well run. Ryan stands out in a big way. Having a licensed PT lead and monitor workouts is a game changer. He pays close attention to form, brings a deep understanding of the body, and offers thoughtful, real-time feedback that you just don't get in a typical class. I came to this place after months of patella tendonitis (my knee). I understood my injury well and communicated that. During my appointment, the guy evaluated me and focused less on what I had to say, and more on his incorrect assessment of my mobility. He mistakenly misdiagnosed poor hip mobility (my hip mobility is fine, I made him re-check it and he agreed on the misdiagnosis). I told him I had limited ankle mobility which caused overcompensation in my knee during squat patterns. As a champion bodybuilder, I really do know my body inside and out. It shouldn't have taken him thirty minutes to discover what what sentence communicates. ‼Beyond that, when he administered exercises, due to his lack of listening of knowledge of the injury, the excercise he had me perform flared my injury up for the following 2 weeks, requiring me to take NSAIDs daily. When I graciously thanked him for showing me how to hurt myself, my thank you wasn't followed with any "your welcome" but just a blank stare . I said thank you again to make sure it wasn't the twilight zone, but it was in fact, a real life horror. ‼ After we concluded our failure of a session, making no personal connection and learning nothing, I paid $100 or so dollars. The young lady at the front asked me if I wanted to schedule ahead. She explained the sessions would be similar to today, ‼except the full hour I pay for would only be 30 minutes to guidance, followed by self-led excercise‼ Isn't that what I go to the gym for anyways? ... Anyways, she asked to schedule ahead and I obviously declined. I did not want to return. Then, I receive a text message that my appointments are set at the same time the next week. And if I don't cancel within 24 hours of the appointment I'd be charged. So I keep the appointment for a few days, hoping my symptoms improve, hoping that it was momentary pain for long term recovery. But no. Of course not. I call the office to cancel the appointments (the ones I asked them not to schedule in the first place) and here's how that went Lady: ..... Me: (waiting for her to say hello, this is so and so office) Lady: ..... Me: ...hello? Lady: how can I help you Me: hi my name is ______ and I'd like to cancel my appointments. Lady: you have 2 appointments scheduled, which would you like to cancel? Me: both of them please Lady: *hangs up on my angerly* Of course, no "thank you for visiting our office" no "I hope you schedule with us soon" not even a "goodbye" or "have a nice day" This place is nice if your insurance pays for it and if you have genuinely no issues in your body. If you are someone with a real injury, if you are someone who wants to be treated with the same respect you give, with dignity, if you are an athlete, and if you are serious about healing, save your money and your time and stop reading reviews. Go somewhere else. Genuinely wish someone had told me this, which is why I'm writing this. My other reviews are positive. It upsets me to have to do this.
