The team at evolution PT has been nothing short of amazing. Brandon has been my main PT who has been very knowledgeable and supportive. I have been dealing with a meniscus injury and they have been very strategic about my recovery. The facility is large and has lots of equipment to use for the sessions. This place sells itself as a medical provider of physical therapy... but when you get there, they tell you that in addition to normal medical costs and co-pays, there is a mandatory $3 per week rider that cannot be opted out of and goes forever until you stop medical treatment. Read that again: come here for medical care, get billed a mandatory $3 week forever, separate from services. Non-optional. It's true that this is not a lot of money on an individual basis, but how are they gonna pretend to be a healthcare facility while they're billing you $3 a week forever just for existing, whether you are there or not? And this is NOT for gym membership - this is if you come to them for doctor-referred, prescribed medical care for physical therapy, which they still do bill on a per-appointment basis. This rider is a way for Evolution to ignore co-pay caps, and the only way to stop those automatic weekly payments (because again, they are "non-optional") is to cease physical therapy treatment and find another provider. If you're a gym, sure, set your rates. But don't scam people coming to you for referred medical care. This is gross. read more

I highly recommend this physical therapy program for pregnancy and postpartum care. I attended weekly throughout my pregnancy (until the week I gave birth) and continued postpartum. I saw Joluis initially for numbness in my arm and neck pain, and he definitely knows what he's doing. He met me where I am physically and pushed me with exercises but would take my feedback and adjust them accordingly. Since I have young kids I did not want to be so sore from the exercises that I would not be able to function or move a day later. I've been going to Evolution PT for about few months now and it's been a real game changer for me! I first started seeing Giulia for my intense shoulder pain that was caused by a rotator cuff injury, I'm not 100% sure how I got. She helped empowered me to gain strength in one of the most vulnerable/weak parts of my body, and pretty soon I was able to join Kari's Upper Body Class. There's something that really helps throttle down the intimidation of joining a new workout class when you know you're not the only person recovering from an injury in there. Everyone in class (even as the roster fluctuates) is so supportive and encouraging, and Kari does a great job of being on the floor helping you with your form! By working with Kari, I found out she has experience working with tmj patients. I started seeing her for this problem. Tmj treatment can be painful like treating any injury, but I've noticed a difference in the quality of my sleep (I'm now able to sleep through the night), and I have much less pain and more clarity in my speaking. I didn't realize how badly my tmj issues were affecting other parts of my body (including my neck and upper shoulders) and I can feel myself making long-term lasting changes in my postures and physical stress management. If you go to evolution, you will be blessed with any of the trainers you receive care from! They're all knowledgeable and adaptable to find exercises that challenge you and you can perform safely! Highly recommend Evolution PT in Hawthorne. I have been working with Danielle Fester for months on my lower back. I've had a lot of strain due to years of sitting a desk or driving in a car (that does not fit me) coupled with heavy weight lifting (and questionable form). After diagnosing the problem, Danielle started exercise routines for me to strengthen my core, correct my posture and loosen up the lower back/increase blood flow. Every session began with massage therapy/stretching to help relieve immediate stress and loosen up the back. Then we proceeded to perform various exercises under supervision (then eventually non-supervised routines). Each session she introduced new exercises until we identified the most helpful solutions. These routines were prescribed to be performed at home (absolutely crucial for making progress) and results were assessed in subsequent sessions. After roughly a dozen sessions we saw enough improvement in my lower back to be discharged (with the option to reopen the case if any immediate issues occurred after closure). These exercise routines now become my preventative care measures to prevent issues from occurring in the future (so don't stop the habit!) Overall Evolution PT at Hawthorne was great. The facility was spacious and provided a large variety of equipment to work with. Staff was extremely helpful and professional. Attendees are required to pay a weekly fee through the duration of their treatment, but I found this to be small and inconsequential. Compared to my previous health insurance/providers, the overall cost was very low (especially with the number of sessions I was able to attend). read more

I cannot recommend Evolution Physical Therapy enough, especially Kelsea, who is an absolutely phenomenal therapist. Her incredible knowledge, persistence, and genuine care have made a huge difference in my life. I first came to Evolution with an ankle problem I had chalked up to "getting old." But Kelsea refused to let that be the excuse. Through a few sessions and her never-give-up approach, she worked tirelessly to figure out the root of my pain. Thanks to her expertise, I am now pain-free and can get up and walk from a seated position without feeling like an old lady! But my story doesn't end there. Knowing I had an upcoming major surgery--a hysterectomy--I mentioned it to Kelsea, and she immediately devised a pre-op strengthening program to prepare me. I cannot overstate how much this helped me. Because of the work we did beforehand, my recovery was nothing short of miraculous. I was told to expect a 5-6 week recovery, but by the end of week two, you'd never guess I had just been in the hospital and had an organ removed! Kelsea's program strengthened my body so well that my healing process was exponentially faster. I needed fewer painkillers, required less assistance, and stayed motivated to move post-op. Going to Evolution Physical Therapy has been one of the best investments of my time. I've been lifting weights for a few years and recently started noticing recurring irritations and minor injuries: chronic neck tension, shoulder irritation that always occurred whenever I hit a certain weight doing overhead presses, and mild knee pain doing squats, lunges, etc. I saw a chiropractor for my neck but despite multiple adjustments, I was always coming back. I also did a few sessions with two different personal trainers, but they didn't go over any stretching or mobility exercises, which I had a feeling is what I needed. I started coming to Evolution last summer and it has been one of the most transformative experiences. I've been working with Kelsea and she's been the best PT I've ever had. She has helped me become more aware of what's happening with my body during specific movements and given me specific cues to correct my form to avoid neck tension - cues that I don't know if a personal trainer without a physical therapy background would be able to provide. My neck is still an issue, but there have been improvements and it takes time to address certain movement patterns. I'm optimistic that it will ultimately be resolved. My knee pain has diminished drastically through the unilateral leg exercises Kelsea assigned me. I'm also very close to being able to do a pistol squat because of what I've had to do to address the knee pain! We're still working on addressing shoulder issues through a mobility routine. Improving shoulder mobility apparently takes some time, but I've seen improvements by consistently performing the exercises she gave me. I'm eternally grateful to Kelsea. I've loved working with her to figure out what's causing limitations in my weight training, and even how to safely continue progressing toward my goals when injuries flare up. She has also reassured me that injuries do happen when you're active, and that the goal isn't to be pain free, but to know how to manage it. I am convinced Kelsea is the best PT there--even though I've really only worked with her lol--and whatever she's getting paid, she deserves a raise. (I hope you are reading this, management.) But the fact that so many people say the same thing about their PTs just reflects the quality of care at Evolution. (I did get to work with Kathleen for one session and she helped me regain range of motion in my neck so I think she's great too!) I love that all the PTs have some sort of athletic background. I also love that the location looks more like a gym rather than a clinic. I think that makes it easier to transfer what you learn and do there over to everyday life. I always enjoy days when I have appointments. Everyone is really friendly. It's so nice to be greeted by Free at the front desk! (And the new receptionist whose name I haven't learned yet, but I will!) One small note: If you pay in cash, there's a small weekly fee that gets charged to your card throughout your treatment.
