I was in excrutiating pain and could barely walk for several weeks. I was sure I needed a hip replacement at the very least! My doctor prescribed PT. My husband had been to Atlantis and had been treated by Dwight and liked him so I did the same. At the end of the 1st appointment the pain was 90% gone and hasn't returned. It seems I had a pinched nerve in my back that was causing the pain in my hip. Dwight knew exactly what to do. I can't recommend him and his staff highly enough. The front desk women are RUDE, insufferable, and just something else. I would never recommend this place to ANYONE after the way they treated me - not just once, but many!! I found another PT office bc they're seriously that AWFUL to patients & PT Aides. They were very blatantly b*tchy and they didn't care. They gave so much attitude, side eyes, ignoring me, scoffing & tried to blame the problem on me when they were the ones who gave me the appointment time but never logged it in. They tried to say I was making things up but when I showed proof, they just got mad & started speaking Tagalog while glaring at me giving me dirty looks & staring me up and down. Are you serious?! I just returned home after wasting 1.5hrs trying to get my son seen for a 1hr initial evaluation appointment with Michael Lewis. Do yourself a favor....if you place a any value on your time, do not work with Michael Lewis. He does not value your time as a customer. We held up our end of the bargain. I already had filled out my son's initial set of forms previously. Despite that, we came a little early for our appointment, and signed two more pages and paid our copay. I advised after check-in that we have a hard stop and need to leave in 1hr. I got told that by the front desk that "they are getting his room ready". Few minutes later, my son was taken to a room, where he continued to wait for his therapist. 30 min into his appointment time, we decided that it was not possible to do a 1hr evaluation and decided to leave. I was waiting near the check-in window to ask for a refund for that day and consider other options, when the assistant to Michael Lewis berated me telling me that I needed to wait until the other customer at the window was done. I had not uttered a word and was doing exactly that (waiting), so I found what she said and her tone extremely disrespectful. I told her that I did not need her to tell me that, to which she responded "well, I just work here", to which I responded "well, I am just a customer here". It felt like a complete disregard and lack of respect for the customer and their time!!!! Why the 3 stars then? Because both my daughter and I had a generally good experience with two other therapists at this location. This tells me that they have some good therapists but make sure you pick wisely. read more

Just got off the phone with the front desk person. Why would you, as a business, allow an employee who is completely clueless about what services are offered to answer the phone? The woman who answered the phone had no idea what she was talking about. I said "I would be a new patient. What services do you offer for neck, shoulder and lower back pain?" This woman was stumbling over her own words saying things like "uh, uh, what do we do? Wait, what do we do back there!" Then she went on a rant about which insurance is NOT accepted. Literally - she memorized all these insurance company names BUT could not tell me what services were provided! That's a straight inside into what type of care I'll receive as a patient. Terrible. My experience? Poor! I was referred to Atlantis by my doctor. Called to make an appointment and was told to download and complete the forms, then bring them to my appointment. I arrived a half hour early, giving Anna the receptionist the forms. She took them and handed me more forms to complete. One was a form that I had already completed, but she wanted me to sign it since it had their notes on it. Okay, fine. The second form she gave me was a treatment follow-up form. I called her attention to it and she said she gave me the wrong form. She said that Sharon would be my physical therapist so I sat and waited. And waited. Several other patients came in, were greeted and taken to their therapists as I continued to wait. After 45 minutes I asked Anna if Sharon was held up for some reason because patients were going in and out right past me. She said that yes, Sharon was with another patient but would be right with me. I asked her if I should make my next appointment earlier in the day because closing time was approaching. She said, "No, we always take our patients on time." Surprised and puzzled by her comment, I said that it was obviously not the case with me. She said that the owners were out of town so the therapists were extra busy. So I continued to wait and finally, a young man called my name and took me to a patient room. I was surprised to see that it had not been cleaned up from the last patient that was in there. I stood against the wall as he cleared and cleaned it up. Usually, when I have doctor visits, the patient rooms are cleaned before I am taken into them. Not here. He left and I expected that Sharon my therapist would walk in at any moment. She didn't. Moving from impatience to frustration, I told myself I would wait exactly 15 more minutes before walking out. Well, 15 minutes passed and sure enough, no Sharon. Furious at this point, I got my jacket, walked back to the front desk and told Anna that I wanted the $150 she had charged to my credit card credited to my account right now. She said okay, took my credit card, pushed some buttons and handed me back my card plus a transaction void receipt for $24! I told her that she had charged me $150 when I came in, not $24 and to fix it immediately. She studied it and said she had voided some other patient's credit charge by mistake. While she continued to fumble and find my transaction, I asked her why she told me earlier that they always take their patients on time. She replied, "It's not my fault and you're taking it out on me!" I told her that I was just asking her a question and realized that I could not talk to her anymore. She finally managed to give me a correct void sale receipt for the $150 and asked me if I wanted to schedule an appointment with a different therapist. I was in shock that she asked me this after everything. I said, "No thanks." and walked out. So that's my experience. My opinion is that things are disorganized and sloppy here. I see many 5-star reviews here on Yelp so presumably, the therapists themselves do good work when they're not overbooked. I'm advising my doctor of my experience and asking her not to recommend Atlantis PT to any more of her patients. read more

Back again for another appointment. An improvement in that I was greeted as I signed in and was taken back for therapy within five minutes which consisted of an ice pad on my area of treatment. The negative was after 90 minutes the doctor said he had forgot me and that I should have received the next treatment 60 minutes ago. I find it very hard to say any positive remarks about the service here. Here for my third visit. Arrived 15 minutes early which is my norm. I was told I was early. It was only a wait of twenty minutes today after my appointment time. Things are improving. Here for a therapy session. Waited for thirty minutes before being helped. Again the receptionist said it isn't her job and for me to sit and wait. Interesting that they don't greet you and given you an estimate of how long the wait will be. The wait was over an hour from when I checked in until the doctor was able to see my friend that I brought. There was paper work to do which is normal for a first visit. What was unusual is that the lady at the reception desk said she didn't handle the paper work and to sit and wait for someone to assist her. When my friend finished the paper work she went to the receptionist to turn it in. Again she was told she didn't handle paperwork and to sit and wait for someone to help her. The waiting area was small with seven seats which were full. There are no magazines nor a tv to hold your attention while you wait. Overall the people are polite. We will see what the service is like over the future weeks of therapy. read more

As far as covid-19 is concerned the owners have gone far above and beyond CDC guidelines to ensure the well being and good health of all who enter their facility. The office is clean, organized, comfortable and it has a warm, welcoming Aloha vibe to it. The star of the show is Ruth Kurihara. She is second to none. Her mission was to bring a measure of relief to me while helping promote healing to my battered body through her skillful expertise in Physical Therapy. She's also an extremely compassionate person. Kai and staff are knowledgeable, friendly, and provide treatment with kindness and care. My injury is not new, but my understanding of how to heal has been elevated to a new level. I had a concussion, and my neurologist recommended seeing someone who specializes in vestibular physical therapy. Specialists in vestibular issues seem to be hard to find. Luckily I found this place, and ended up seeing Karyn who was just fantastic. She really took the time to understand my particular situation, in particular relating to my athletic goals, and catered the checkup and therapy program to me. I used to be very active and worked out, hard, 3-5 times/wk. Age is catching up with me and now for the last two years, I have been in pain and agony. I've seen several therapists at Atlantis. Micheal, Mike K, Ruth K and all have been outstanding. But for me, seeing the smiling face of Ana as I walk in is such a relaxing sight. I have visited the Atlantis Physical Therapy on two occasions during past 3 years, both for sports-related injuries. Although the injuries were mild in nature, my orthopedic doctor recommended few Physical Therapy sessions to ensure a proper healing and to prevent future recurrences. I liked the facility and personnel at the Atlantis PT in general - friendly staff, bright, clean and adequate space/equipment for all patients. Mike K. and Ruth K. were my therapists and I had very pleasant experiences with both. They are conscientious therapists who are personable, thorough, and caring. They never rush patients through a session, and always ensure that each therapy session achieves anticipated progress. As with any PT office, some therapists are better than others in demonstrating their passion in caring for people, but I believe majority of the personnel at Atlantis (PT and the Aids) have a genuine interest in helping people and conduct themselves as a professional healers. If you experienced some difficulty in appointments and billing in the past (as some of us reviewers had in the past), I encourage you to consider Atlantis again and give them another chance, because I saw some improvements in both areas when I visited them the second time. I received treatment of a dislocated jaw, infection and subsequent TMJ problem from Michael Louis. From the first treatment, he displayed professionalism, compassion and the highest level of skill for my difficult situation. His ability to utilize numerous treatment techniques (myofascial release, soft tissue/joint mobilization, pelvis balancing and craniosacral therapy) helped to relieve the pain and restore function to my face, jaw, torso, arms and back. As a colleague in the practice of physical therapy I have benefited from learning about the advanced myofascial release techniques from Michael as he used them to bring me symptom relief. He is well regarded as an expert in this method of treatment, in fact other medical professionals have sought out his expertise as well. I have been coming to Atlantis Physical Therapy at various times throughout the years and have been blessed to be given the special care from one of their therapist, Ruth Kurihara. She has come up with a variety of exercises for my condition and has challenged me in many ways. Because of her knowledge and ideas she has assisted me to do things that before were difficult for me or at times thought impossible. Besides her knowledge and desire to work with you I do need to let you know that Ruth has a great sense of humor too which helped when I would get frustrated with myself. Recently, I recommended my senior parents to go to Atlantis Physical Therapy and they are very happy too. My surgeon recommended Atlantis for rehab after rotator cuff repair surgery and I'm so grateful for the excellent care I received from Dwight, my therapist and the entire staff at Atlantis. From my first day of physical therapy to my last, my shoulder consistently improved with the tailored exercises Dwight gave me to do. All the aides made sure I performed the exercises properly and I never felt rushed to finish my exercise regimen. It was a pleasure to work with such friendly and professional individuals. I have been having pain in my shoulder and arm for a few months now and have been putting it off. Finally I decided to take my doctor's advice and see a physical therapist. I called Atlantis, did not have a good experience scheduling an appointment, they rescheduled me once the day before my appointment and tried to do it a 2nd time. After 2 weeks, I finally got in. Michael, the therapist was great, spent a good amount of time examining me, treating me and answering all my questions. Over all I had a good experience. I have been a patient of Atlantis Physical Therapy for many years on an as needed basis for management of Rheumatological disorders that affect different parts of my body. These are chronic auto immune disorders. I have NEVER taken steroid medication for inflammatory symptoms. Michael Louis treats me with physical therapy, ultrasound, and myofascial release. Atlantis has been a huge relief for me and my back. After injuring my back exercising at the gym I found myself unable to walk 50 feet without resting.
