Dr Hwang has been my PCD for many years, and he is awesome. He's thorough, patient, understanding, and caring. I will not leave kaiser under any circumstances. I've been with them for 30 years. I have an awesome TEAM of Drs. I've had two surgeries in the past year, and I've walked out both times thinking, why didn't I have these sooner?!?!?! They've called me at home to check on me before, and how many care providers do that these days? I'm one that writes everything down before a surgery, and I ask a million and one questions. They are all very patient , understanding, and they make sure I feel comfortable before leaving. I'm very much a frequent flyer to this place. Where else can you see your Dr, have X-rays, get blood drawn, and Prescriprions, and be out in an hour or so???? It's not always like that, but I remember the good times. read more

All the nurses were nice except on my last day the head nurse rabia Myra SN ignore my concerns with my arm pain and my needs. She kept stalling my pain from these iv fluids when she could have taken them off way before. After hours of waiting for her to finally take them off she was aware of the swollenness and redness it looked but said "it's normal" Now 2 days past I'm in so much pain to the point I felt like I was having a fever so I went to urgent care to find out it was an inflammation infection. A truly horrible place. I lost my 16 week pregnancy because of this incompetent OB department as well as ER. I had a rare condition that no one could figure out but also didn't try to (that's Kaiser for you). They ignored my calls and my pleading to be seen by a perinatologist. I figured out my own diagnosis and no one would listen to me. One of their nurses in the ER put a catheter in the wrong hole and hit my cervix, causing it to start filling with blood. Yes, while pregnant. It was a nightmare month of horrible care and negligence and then a traumatizing miscarriage at 4 months pregnant. I came to check in my medication and after checking in my medication I received a call from an urgent care provider saying I have 4 medications. I then told her I had checked in all my new medications at the pharmacy, which the pharmacy tech said there are 3 new medications. So then had to get back in the check in line after waiting an hour for my medication. Ultimately ended up waiting almost 4 hours for my medication! Very upsetting. Get it together! Went here today for my 5 year old son complaining of leg pain and couldn't be more happy with my visit. Urgent care is so quick to help kids and get them out of there. Went for X-rays and everyone was friendly and quick. The nurse we had at urgent care was delightful and kept my son calm and well cared for. It was a pleasure to be there under the circumstances. This was a 6 month recheck visit for a special mammogram due to some abnormalities in one of my breasts. I traveled from Palm Desert, to Riverside, ran into traffic, so I arrived 20 minutes late. The receptionist quickly checked with the provider, returned and told me I would be worked in. He was very pleasant and reassuring. I had a very minimal wait. The provider, Linda, took extra care with my procedure. She explained the rationale as to the reasoning that I was sent for a regular mammogram of one breast, in 6 months, rather than repeating this special test in 6 months. I had concerns as the regular mammogram took over a month for the report to be issued, then, the indication was to perform this special test again. Linda put my concerns to rest. She is an excellent provider to work in this area when women may have additional anxieties due to the sensitivities of the testing. Excellent care overall! read more

The emergency room and patient bathrooms need immediate attention--they are filthy and unacceptable. The exam rooms have dirty floors, and the equipment looks worn and poorly maintained. Urgent care One of the worst experiences I've ever had. Because if Karina/Corina from the urgent care department doesn't like you, she makes you wait longer to get through. This woman was not only rude and ill-mannered, most of the other workers. Struggled with a right avascular necrotic femoral head from a mountain biking accident that I was seen in Kaiser Fontana er. Treated my dislocated shoulder but fail to find the injury to my hip even though I had a noticeable change in my gait. Over the next 2 years my hip pain became increasingly worse. I saw orthopedics. Dr Jack Yu. He walked in with a copy of my X-ray. Arrogantly look at me and said, "You need a hip replacement now". He offered me a posterior hip replacement. Disadvantages. Can't lift or carry30lbs. Limited range of motion. And difficult sitting on the floor. I'm a ICU nurse questioning how I was to continue my job. Dr Yu answer was. Find a different job. After seeking several orthopedic physicians. A DO,from Kaiser Fontana, told me a needed an anterior hip replacement. No referral given to me on whom or which Kaiser facility would accommodate me. Just keep checking. After trigger point injections. Pain management and physical therapy which charted. Treatment help and I was improved. Which I was not. I was living on Tylenol and Motrin around the clock. I switched HMO to united Healthcare. Referred to orthopedic. 11/2 years later I completely lost the head of my right femur. 2cm. To my right leg. Horrible gait. Rancho Cucamonga orthopedic. Dr Jahng did a great job on my right anterior hip replacement. No limitations. Back to work in 3month. I left Kaiser. I feel like they chart how improved your progress is whether it true or not. My wife still carries Kaiser. No one from Kaiser ever contacted me regarding my hip. Hip pain or general health. Every once in a while I'll get a text to get my flu shot. It's all a joke and a bad memory read more

Kaiser Emergency department is horrible. I had a high fever of 103.2 I took 1000mg Tylenol and 800mg of ibuprofen and rushed to Kaiser riverside ER. When I got there they checked my temperature and it was 99.8 . There were only 3 people in the waiting room when I arrived and 10 people checked in after I did. They were all called in before me. Waited in the waiting for about 2 hours and when I asked them about it they said it is based on the severity of emergency. I only went to ER because I feel like I am dying with fever, cough, stomachache and headache. I waited again. Now everyone checked in after me was already called back. Here I am thinking I will be next. More people checked in. They started calling them back before me. I left without being seen. I will just take my chances with OTC medications now. Dr Chen Orthopedic for my back (arthritis) she is sooo super nice & listens to you and is friendly and she cares about me. I love her. My other Dr is general surgeon Dr Kim I had surgery in August 2024 she is so cool, nice made me feel relaxed no fear of surgery I trusted her she is friendly and will help you. I love her too. The pharmacy down stairs by the urgent care area they are really good people. Their energy is positive! When I was in line I noticed the whole team was calm, smile at the patients, you can hear it in their voice they care to get you in and out and they were fast too. I didn't have to wait a whole 20 minutes and the line was long but they got it down quick! I really do like their team. If I was closer I would go here to get my meds but I live in perris close to Moreno Valley Kaiser. The Moreno Valley Kaiser pharmacy staff are very negative sour face, they act mad all the time they don't smile at the people and if they do it's fake. They really show they don't like their job. I dont like going there. I prefer Riverside staff. I will say Moreno Valley labs are the best! They know how to draw blood they don't hurt me at all and I don't feel it when they go in and their quick! I have screamed at corona Kaiser when I had labs done there and. I will never get it done there again it hurt soooo bad. Stay with Moreno Valley lab's but not the pharmacy lol go with Riverside pharmacy their beautiful people! On June 13th 2024, I went to Kaiser for an MRI scan in the radiology department which required me to change clothes. I was led to a changing room by the receptionist, a white bald man probably aged around 30-40, maybe 50 at the latest. I changed my clothes in a changing room and after I emerged from the room wearing my assigned clothes the receptionist sexually harassed me and stared at my chest quite blatantly. I felt very creeped out. None of my skin was showing, my body was completely covered up. If you are a woman, avoid or report this receptionist if he tries anything! This is just one of many problems that this facility has, I just wanted to focus on this one for now. I also agree with the other negative reviews on this page and their some of their experiences have mirrored mine. read more

i had appt w/kaiser and requested specialist for dermatology due to being prone for pre skin cancer. dr stated kaiser does not refer to specialist ,primary dr is to determine if person has cancer and not pre cancer. he prescribed cream for pre cancer i had reaction and caused extreme swelling under eyes i emailed dr to adv there is warning on label to not use on face. he said its fine continue use. also i previously had been seen by uc davis for last 6 years, which they determined i had heart condition and i see cardiologist every 6 months. kaiser did only ultrasound of heart and states my heart is fine. read more

Went to the ER today to check out why I had a headache after a minor car accident. One thing I did not like is how the doctor basically insinuated that I came in to get hard drugs hence his response to my pain was " oh I can prescribe you Tylenol" I didn't come in there to get any type of medication or Tylenol as I have it at home and took some and still I have a headache. I came in to try and get X-rays to make sure I am good internally. He insisted I am fine and that there shouldn't be a brain bleed which I didn't ask about that either but ok thank you for your time. read more

Kaiser pharmacy practices are outdated and disconnected from the supposed technology offered for Kaiser members. If you order medications to be delivered by mail, and there's a problem, then you're screwed because, apparently, the mail-in services system doesn't communicate with the physical 24-hour pharmacy. The phone lines are always an hour-long wait to speak to someone, and they won't take accountability for the system glitch that will not release a medication until the prescription is resubmitted (3 weeks later). If I had an option, I would boycott all of Kaiser's services. But I'm stuck with the insurance provided by my work, dealing with the hassle that is Kaiser. read more

Horrible experience they did not properly start my mother's physical therapy after being on life support and unfortunately we lost our mother due to complications from the delay in her recovery. The nurses are not professional they do not have human kindness I was my moms power of attorney and medical decision maker which was signed and notarized at the Kaiser in Riverside they failed to upload the paperwork to avoid filling grievance against them. I am a NURSE (worked in ALL units except for operating room and pediatrics) and this emergency department is a JOKE. Nurses here think it's OK to draw blood work from USED peripheral IV lines (lactic acid) and have the nerve to tell me that it's OK because 3mL of blood was disposed AFTER a couple IV medications were infused. REALLY? An inaccurate lactic acid to possibly give a patient that is in kidney failure, liver failure, on chemotherapy some antibiotics that can further push him into ESRD? AND THEN, have the audacity to say that to a fellow RN? PLUS, no one checked on my father for three hours because I was in the room from 2100 and NO ONE went to check on my dad until 0015. Lo and behold, the ER RN Brian came to check on my dad 5-minutes after he noticed I was in there. My dad's IV tylenol was running without a pump and had another female RN draw lactic acid from that same peripheral IV. What a JOKE. What kind of BEST PRACTICE is that? As a fellow ER RN, I am utterly disgusted with this so-called ER "best practice." On another occasion not related to my father, MY MOTHER was in this same E.R two days prior when the EMERGENCY (I REPEAT, EMERGENCY PHYSICIAN) took it upon himself (DR. ABE VEPPUNTHARA) to tell my mother that she has "HIGH PROBABILITY, MOST LIKELY glomerular lung CARCINOMA" without any biopsies, lab work to test any cancer markers, and any extensive diagnostics other than ONE CT CHEST. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? This physician is out of line and needs to stay within his scope of practice of EMERGENCY MEDICINE and not to play God by telling people that they may have cancer. He is no oncologist. He had absolutely NO REGARD to what emotional burden, stress, or anxiety this may cause another person. Soon after telling my mother that she may have cancer, he tells her that she'll go home while she's hyperventilating in the gurney coming in through AMBULANCE for respiratory distress. I have no words to say other than how ridiculous and frustrating of what type of care this ED offers. Imagine I wasn't a nurse and didn't witness this kind of malpractice and negligence--what kind of cr*p these RNs and physician is telling and doing to their patients and their families that aren't in the medical field??? It's frightening. 3. HOME HEALTH KAISER RIVERSIDE IS UNETHICAL AND A WASTE OF PEOPLE'S HARD-EARNED INSURANCE MONEY TO FUND THIS DEPARTMENT. Going back to my father, I am a nurse (an active working nurse very familiar in the field) and my three younger sisters are ALL NURSES as well also active in the field. A HOME HEALTH NURSE that did my father's intake, MELISSA, and a lab phlebotomist came to my parent's home (all of us were present) actively made snarky comments regarding my father's health and IV line (he has a single lumen PICC line), rolling their eyes upon realizing that my father had a PICC line and questioning why they were there to do lab??? These so-called healthcare professionals need to be re-educated and in-serviced regarding single lumen PICC line means = strictly no blood draw and only for infusion. My father has cancer and is currently on chemotherapy. The next day, another so-called nurse named Jeannette (case manager supposedly), my sister is helping my total-care father with his commode and changing him so that this case manager can push IV Lasix through my father's PICC line. My father was about to fall when my sister was trying to change my dad. My sister asked for help and Jeannette (case manager) told my sister "I don't do custodial care" and called my father's primary care physician, Dr. Vu, and this physician actually got upset with my sister for asking for help and hung up the phone on my sister when this physician said "I am not going to risk my nurses to get hurt. You guys might be under a lot of stress and may need palliative care, home health aide!" HOW CAN WE OBTAIN THAT WHEN MY FATHER IS NOT EVEN GETTING ANY PHYSICAL THERAPY OR HOME HEALTH ASSISTANCE?????? The physical therapy does treatment for 5-10 minutes maximum! Excuse me, isn't physical therapy allotted for 15, 20, or even 30 minutes? Time fraud? ALSO, my father has a palliative care physician. SO AGAIN, WE--his children--KNOW our father needs more assistance at home however Kaiser is doing a darn good job and making it seem that my father is independent and capable of taking care of himself so when we ask for help, complete hypocrisy and unsafe patient handling is what we get in-return including a tidal wave of unethical, unprofessional, and completely disgusting behavior/comments from so-called healthcare professionals. Some people go into nursing to be compassionate and actually care about their patient's well-being... while these people listed in this review clearly are in this profession for $. Worst ER ever. My husband had a very painful lower abdominal pain. He had to wait 2hrs at 10:30 pm. Almost felt like collapsing. I had to wait outside. Only patients inside. Finally after 2hrs he was seen. Had run tests. And people changing shifts after shifts. Got done after 4am. The nurses at the desk were very unprofessional on helping him in time of need. Kept saying no beds. But it sure didn't seem that way. His room was not cleaned up. Had to tell the nurse about it. Just a mess. KAISER = WORST EXPERIENCE EVER! I cannot believe they actually treat their patients like this. I recently switched to kaiser & everything is just so difficult. From calling the members service phone number & waiting 20 mins, only to be told you need to call kaiser appointments to really address your medical issue. From trying to contact my neurologist from the kaiser app, who never seems to reply. I always have to call Kaisers direct Neurology department & kaiser appointments to just pass my wrriten message and address my health issues. From being taken to the emergency room today 9/30/21 for having a seizure, only to throw up on myself and the floor 2 times with out any medical attention, while my IV monitor is just beeping and beeping for 15 minutes with no help. It wasn't until I walked out of the ER by myself; THAT they called me to back, ONLY TO TELL ME TO COMEBACK BECAUSE YOU'LL BE ARRESTED INSTEAD OF, OH HEY WE CARE ABOUT YOUR HEALTH PLEASE COMEBACK. So I come back and they refuse to give me the medications that are on my chart!??! Are you kidding me. I've argued with 5 nurses already only to be given my daily TWICE a day medicine ONCE. it was given to me yesterday at 9:45pm. But they woke me up at 4:45am today to run more IVs in my machine, YET MY MACHINE WASN'T EVEN HOOKED UP ANYMOREEE! MY LEVELS WERE NORMAL last night so they disconnected me. And my medication I won't receive until 945am. 12 hours later which is logical, 945pm to 945am, BUT they woke me up at 445am. I need to take my medication regardless every day at the same time, WHEN I WAKE UP, with a maximum 4 window to take it. 445am to 945am that's 5 hours. But hey they'd rather I have a seizure than do their job. Okay. So I've been waiting since 445am for ANY DOCTOR to arrive and for ANY Employee to bring me my medication. Then newest assigned nurse comes in and tries to have me check out with me even knowing what's going on. So I tell her I can not leave against my will without seeing my doctor. She rolls her eyes, shakes her head and says okay. SO I do the same back & Say okay + eye roll. Then she rolls her eyes at me 5 more, while saying okaaaaaay. I've always been a happy KAISER subscriber BECAUSE OF THE CONVENIENCE of being able to head into the URGENT CARE after work in the evening, sometimes as late as 9:30, almost 10pm. I show up today at 9:05pm, to find out that some IDIOT at KAISER changed Urgent Care hours!!! She was terrible. She placed the IV and it hurt immediately. I started crying because it felt as if cement was being injected to my arm and it started to feel heavy. My friend notified her and she came over and started yelling at me stating "Why are you crying, you are 20 years old!" "Are you suffering from a mental breakdown?" "Seriously grow up." The call center is full of morons who clearly don't know how to do their job. Scheduled me with a doctor, nurse called me, confirmed the doctor that i will see ( THIRD DOCTOR IVE SEEN) will be prescribing my medication. I asked the nurse if she was absolutely sure the doctor would be able to prescribe what i need and she confirmed with me. Doctor calls me just to tell me she is NOT the doctor who can prescribe medicine. I then get pissed and say then WHY AM I WASTING MY TIME WITH YOU! She tells me she will create my third referral! I said I'm sick of the fucking referrals!! Are you a doctor? She says yes, i ask her do you prescribe medicine? I went to the emergency room last Monday and I waited for almost 4 hours Before being called back. People that came into the ER after me or being called back sooner than I was because apparently the nurse at the front desk didn't think that my condition was urgent enough. However when I finally got called to the back four hours later I was given an IV in meds for A severe headache and numbing down both of my arms and extremely low blood pressure. After the first three hours of watching everybody be called back in before me I walked into the back and ask them why I hadn't be seen and at that moment they threaten to call security on me. I can't wait to see how much the bill they sent me is just a word of caution I wouldn't even take my dog to the emergency room I can't wait for open enrollment at my company to transfer out of Kaiser this is the absolute worst medical care that I have ever received. If you want Walmart level healthcare and sign up for Kaiser. I honestly think that they were delaying seeing me because they were trying to thin out the emergency room and we're hoping people were going to walk out. This type of care is completely unacceptable also there was another lady in the emergency room who came in on an ambulance and who sat on a gurney for 2+ hours before they even put her in the bed I believe she was over 80 years old. This was completely insane I have never seen anything like this in my life. I would never come back to this hospital emergency room if I was dying I would go to another hospital this is the last place that I would want to go. Monday night my Son & Daughter in law was expecting their first child. My daughter in law started having some issues which was leading towards a miscarriage, My son & daughter in law were scared praying that they wouldn't lose their first baby. that evil nurse would not allow my son to go in the back to be with and comfort his wife durning this time my daughter was begging for her husband to be with her. but Ms Patti M continued to say no then called for security. thank God a Technician knew them and told that woman to let son back there.
