The only part of my husband's hospital stay was being in the ICU. The nurses were fantastic, but as far as having his aortic dissection operated on, I kept asking to talk to the vascular team, but nobody ever came to talk to me. They just said they might do surgery I had to beg to ask him what kind of surgery they finally called me. A resident called me and said they think they're going to do a graph and maybe replace a vein in that to the left arm then they put them into a regular room while we were waiting. The nurses took forever to get there after he had pooped the bed he had to sit in his soiled bed for almost 20 minutes. I timed it the second time he soiled it. It was 13 minutes. He had to set it in soiled poop. I know they're busy. But we explained to them that my husband can't hold it when he has to go. He has a large prostate then all of a sudden they said oh we're going to surgery this morning the paperwork I didn't get to go down and see him beforehand or anything the vascular team never came in and talk to me. I think it's very unprofessional never come back to this hospital. read more

This is by far the best hospital ever in my opinion. Based off the care I have received every time I've came here over the years. I have no complaints at all. You can tell every worker here loves their job. Each department is phenomenal! Labor & delivery, emergency department (minus the longggg wait but that's normal at an ER!), Cardiac department, etc!! I have to say this is the absolute worst hospital I have ever been to. My mom is currently there and the care she is receiving is awful. I am praying the transfer goes through because the level of rudeness and incompetence from the nursing staff goes unmatched. The noc shift nurse Laura Aguirre and Myra are both liars and are not able to critically think and they are not able to be compassionate or understanding. When asking them about my mom who went without her pain medication all day due to the incompetence of their AM shift nurse lied to my brother and hung up in my face. It is going to be my absolute pleasure to report both of the to the nursing board as they do not deserve the licenses they hold not should they be able to work with any patients anywhere ever. read more

The visiting surgeons saved my life on thanksgiving day , however the techs that tried to do an ultrasound on my surgery site almost killed me 2 times I had to scream and yell to stop her .you don't open a clamp to do a ultrasound you will bleed out !! This stay got worse by the day !! 4 plus days of unnecessary unprofessional in trained staff !! And when I complained they retaliated!!! read more

My uncle had knee surgery at this Hospital. Great staff until my uncle was transferred to rehab. His personal belongings were never sent. I received a call to pick up or donate all personal belongings. I drove to Riverside and had to wait for two hours. Public Safety and registration were extremely rude. read more

If you're here for a hospital stay. Not all nurses like their job and are attentive to one's needs. The place was very dirty. The restroom was never cleaned. My grandmother was bedridden and had to clean herself up after that was told to not get out of bed alone so she used the pan I arrived to visit and her bedpan full of poo was sitting next to her while she slept. My wife was admitted to the emergency room from a fall down the stairs. We were not allowed in the emergency room until she was stable. When we were finally able to see my wife they had already taken her for an MRI and CT scan. During the scans they removed her clothes and placed her in a hospital gown her jewelry (Diamond Earrings, and a necklace) and very nice and expensive clothes were removed by Riverside Community theives prior to our ability to see my wife. When I finally was granted permission to see my wife I asked where was her earrings and necklace. The Riverside Community thieves said the items were removed prior to the scans, but will be collected and returned when she is placed in a hospital room. Hours later she was transported to ICU to a private room. I asked transportation employees, and the nurse assigned to the room where were her personal items. The nurse acknowledged that no personal items were brought up from the ER, but he would contact the department. Please note that for 15 days I continually asked the nurses, and staff for updates on her personal property. The staff including the nurse in charge would continually repeat they would contact the ER department for updates. I made dozens of call to Riverside Community hospital, and was transferred to numerous departments all saying they would look into this matter, and I would receive a call back. It wasn't until over 6 weeks later that I finally received a callback and a letter from Alicia Telles-Martinez dated January The letter outlined our conversation, and said moving forward Riverside Community Hospital is developing a more effective way to track patient belongings to drastically reduce the changes (should be chances) of items going missing. (AKA STOLEN) The letter also stated that the clinical nurse coordinator nor leadership were aware of any loss of property during your stay on the unit. Note: I personally asked every nurse that provided care where was my wifes personal property. Every response was that it was being investigated, and not once was I instructed to contact Hospital leadership. In closing Riverside Community Hospital seems to be allowing employees to steal from patients as they desire. One way they accomplish this is to not allow patients relatives into the ER rooms until they have time to complete their theft. I Had an eight hour visit to the ER on Christmas. The positives are they have a wonderful triage system, the ultrasound tech was amazing, the plan they give you meets the services they provide. The negatives they are understaffed, the cleanliness is a 2/20, there are unhoused patients being admitted but from what they shared (as HIPPA compliance is not a thing in the ER all your information can be heard by everyone) they wanted food, a bed, snacks and to smoke in the restroom, your safety is questionable and there is no security walking around to keep the patients and staff somewhat safe from unpredictable behavior. It is evident that there needs to be a better system and resources to help support the unhoused population who are challenged with severe mental health conditions and addiction that seem to be Malingering for shelter, food, restrooms and rest in the ER taking up medical resources from patients with true emergency medical needs. My discharge doctor Dr. Fargusson was beyond amazing! He took his time explaining everything to me, offered compassion, empathy, care and a treatment plan for after care. If my OBGYN would have done this after my recent endometrial biopsy I most likely wouldn't have been in the position I was on Christmas. If you read this Dr. Joseph Fargusson I hope you know that you are an amazing and phenomenal medical provider and I hope RCH works hard to take care of their Medical providers because the work is intense for sure and takes a very unique individual. read more

I went in for surgery January 2023 for a rare condition of my bladder and colon called colovesicul fistula. I was treated by Dr Aras Emdadi and couldn't be happier. Dr Emdadi and the entire medical staff did an amazing job from the time of check in to my release. My check in at the G-Tower did not take long and the process was smooth. All the nurses and doctors were comforting, respectful and attentive. My recovery from surgery went well and was discharged within 3 days. Riverside Community never ceases to amaze me. Went to the ER with my sister for pancreatitis. She was told pretty quickly she was being admitted, but then it took another 9 hours to put her in bed, yes, 9 hours! In those 9 hours, we were left in a chair with other ER patients coming in and out, and she was doped up with morphine. She advised them she was an addict, and yet they still gave her morphine. After 9 hours, they found a bed for her, so she stayed in a communal area with other beds all separated by a curtain. There she stayed another 5 hours. Then, she was finally moved to a shared room where the other patient had the sink, so if my sister used the restroom, she was only given hand sanitizer since she could not access the sink. The ER was dirty, and it took forever to get anyone to clean anything up. If you ask the nurses, they are annoyed that you asked for cleaning services. I gave birth here over 7 years ago, and I mentioned you are better off giving birth in a back alley, and here we are 7 years later, and yes, I still stand behind my statement. I am home, thank GOD almighty, I am home. I have been at Riverside Community Hospital recuperating unit since Sept, 15,2023. Elena was my first nurse. She appeared kind and caring, until the second day, when I was in constant pain, and I asked for pain meds, or cut off the lights, and closed my room door please. Suddenly the situation becomes a nightmare. My nurse forgot to speak or understand English and will do the opposite of what I needed. The Nurse Leader addressed my concerns that night when she found me and my fellow roommate trying to stand up on the bed trying to cut the tv off that suddenly came on at 4:30 in the morning. Or I never got a personal nurse button answered. They assigned another nurse to me, named Rachel. I introduced myself at the nurses' station. " I needed my meds, and I wanted my IV removed since it was painful and swollen. Did not receive any attention nor replied from nurse Rachel until the nurse leader stated she will take care of me. (I removed my own IV see pics). This nurse stated it was fine to do so. This nurse was teaching a nursing student from a local college who mocked my pain by stating,"Sure ASAP just for you".( From a technical college) Another day, another nurse, named Jonaoa, would not NOT address my pain for over 1 hour, also she would cut off the red light nurse button, therefore I let her know I unplugged the IV from the wall to pull and push it to the restroom. My uncle was recently involved in an accident, and thank god he was rushed to RCH trauma center from our ER experience, Surgery, ICU and G tower new building he was in the best care ever. I've never experienced such great service in a Hospital as he did here. WOW , the nurses to Dr's are the best. Everyone is on their A game. Clean hospital front lobby staff very friendly and helpful. I would definitely not recommend going to this hospital. I don't know many people that receive care here now and it's obvious why. We went in due to my fiance experiencing severe pain in her side, 11-29-2024. The staff in the maternity unit where their triage is for pregnant women, were oblivious to our needs, concerns, etc. They brushed us off repeatedly. My fiance explained that it's painful when she sits up. All she requested is to be able to lay down to relieve the pain. They outright refused and denied her any accommodations. Told her she had to wait in the waiting room. We waited three hours and didn't get any treatment or attention. She vomited on multiple occasions. They ignored her. I asked the little fat Black nurse where can we go to get treatment. She frowned up, looked at me like I had shit on my face, and said with an attitude, "anywhere where there's an emergency room." We left after three hours and no care or treatment. We are declining to have our son here as a result and switching Dr's. as now we have doubts and uncertainties about this hospital. read more

Beware!!! My husband had surgery and was in the new wing of the hospital for five days and was the best experience but he ended up back in the hospital a couple of weeks later and Wow, the horror began. First, the room was a two man room and was half the size of the single man room in the new wing, no hot water, room was filthy with blood on the floor, curtains that were ripped up, paint peeling off the walls. I literally had a panic attack when I left the first night, walking down the hall was so loud, it was like a party, I don't care if it's visiting hours till 9pm, people are suppose to be able and rest but no rest on that floor. We won't get into the fight with the dirtbag in the next bed but the nurse had to pull him out of the room and put him somewhere else. We also got some epic comedy with the nurses aide. The Dr came in and was talking to the new patient they put in the room and the aft was telling him he had to quit drinking or he was going to die, well the aide came in after the Dr left and the patient was telling her what the Dr said about not drinking and she told the patient, oh, don't listen to him, they told me that and I still drink two glasses of wine every night and I'm fine. WHAT!!! The only good part of the stay was the nurse, she was great and luckily was there for both nights he was there. read more

I will never go to any ER ever again other than RCH. I went to two urgent cares and one hospital before for a lump growing under my jaw. All three told me I was fine and that it was a clogged salivary gland. The pain was so unbearable I finally tried RCH, desperate for some relief and they took one look at me and admitted me. They said I had an abscess growing and that I was septic. The wait for a room sucked, I was there about 12 hours before they finally got me to a bed. But the staff was amazing. All the nurses and doctors made everything so much easier and less scary. I had never been admitted to the hospital before. Two nurses in particular on the third floor, Leo and Lance, were especially amazing. I would give anything to see them again and tell them thank you because they took such wonderful care of me. Also, Dr. Gupta the ENT who did the procedure to remove my abscess was wonderful. It hurt so bad and he made sure I was comfortable and was so apologetic about it hurting. Dr. Persechino, the infectious disease doctor was also wonderful. He was so sweet and caring and checked up on me every single day of my seven day stay. I'm bummed my insurance and primary doctors are slacking because I was supposed to have follow ups with them, and haven't been able to yet. But my abscess has healed wonderfully and I couldn't be more thankful for all the nurses and doctors at RCH. read more

Labor and maternity was the worst experience ever! I when through UCR Womens health and was told I was going to deliver at Riverside community hospital I was optimistic about the experience. I was I was admitted since Saturday and finally released on Tuesday mid day. I knew I was going to deliver with an on call doctor but omg there's no communication. I saw a total of 6 doctors. The first two doctors on the first two days only introduced themselves in the mornings and never saw them again (Dr. Jean and Dr Obey- she had an attitude problem). When I was finally having contractions the second doctor called my nurse and told her she was going home and the nurse had me start pushing and told me to stop. I waited for another hour before I started pushing only for a random doctor show up and have me deliver without introducing himself or even saying goodbye. Mind you while we waited for this doctor I would hear the nurses ask each other in panic voices who's the doctor on duty and nobody knew. After I delivered my room was still dirty from the delivery and I was told to stay there till another room opened up for post partum. We asked if housekeeping can be called and nobody ever came! I felt bad that we spend time in a room that was old and cold during my delivery. There was no extra blankets or even a bench or bed for my husband to lay down. We finally got transferred to a second room where it was super small and extremely hot. No batteries for te control the nurse just shrug her shoulders and said "it was out of her hands- nurse Blaire) Lactation advice was a joke! I asked about breastfeeding and formula and I was getting pushed back to only do breastfeeding. I'm all about breastfeeding as my first option but as a first time mommy I wanted to know how and what I can do if my milk isn't coming in the first couple of days. Nobody ever helped me. And to top it off I asked a nurse if I had to burn my baby after breastfeeding and she said because I'm not giving her formula. So I asked another nurse a couple of hours later and she said I had to burn her. She asked who told me that and to describe the nurse I was told her she was the first nurse to see my baby to look her up. Honestly for my first delivery the experience was Terrible even though I did run into some friendly staff I which there was communication. They didn't even go over my discharge paper work or asked if I felt good about breastfeeding. And womens ucr health is a joke too. Dr Ross never build a relationship with me she was always so robotic. She always ordered labs but never read my results nor addressed my weight or my outside activity in order to encourage a healthy life style or just Advice to prep me for labor. Dr Ross , and the nurses and the doctors at the hospital asked me about my eating habits. Dr Ross never asked if I was taking prenatals or suggested anything during my pregnancy. During my prenatal visits she would check my baby's heart rate and clean me up and would just say " okay I'll see you next week for another prenatal visit" I'm like "wait a second I have questions and how's my baby doing" Lastly don't believe the video you see for labor and delivery your room won't be like the videos. My 86 year old mother was brought in by ambulance to the ER where she stayed for over 26 hours. Finally in a room they can't wait to get her out even though she is suffering from kidney damage due to the accident. I want to make it clear that the nursing staff is wonderful even though they are OVER WORKED & UNDER PAID! Go anywhere else but here for your medical needs. I was transferred to RCH from Corona Regional Medical Center for a neurosurgery need due to an infected lumbar surgery from another hospital & medical provider. Stayed at the hospital for 8 days. My overall experience is very good EXCEPT a particular "Dr Simone Singh". She spoke to me before discharge & reassured me to prescribe adequate pain medication. I was discharged 3 days after spinal surgery with NO pain prescription. I called Dr Simone Singh's office next morning to get pain meds. She NEVER called back. Walking 10-15 feet w/ a walker, dragging my left leg is painfully miserable. I have been in tremendous pain from left hip down the long bones of my left leg each time I bear weight or even move. Stay away from Dr Simone Singh. She is incompassionate & neglectful. Dr Singh is ZERO star! read more

This staff was outstanding. They were helpful from the moment I checked in. They had great humor, were super friendly and kept my spirits high at a very low time for me. They quickly assessed me. I went there for blood clots in my lungs. They pin cushioned both of my arms because no one could find my veins even with the machine that shows the veins. My arms were so bruised & I had a big lump full of blood on one of the IV's. They caused me so much pain! I never got clean sheets even when the nurse put this sponge thing & told me to pee which I just couldn't for the longest time & when I did I had urine all over myself & the bed. She left me on the wet bed & just put paper pads on the top but I could still feel the wetness & the cold. My gown was all full of urine but I had to wait until my husband brought me my own from home. No help at all. The bathroom was filthy & so was my room. I picked up all of the trash on the floor & by the time my husband came it was filthy again. With all the needles & tubes on both of my hands I could not straighten all of the blankets because they would get stuck on the blankets. Nothing to wash up with & no help at all. Where are all of your cleaning ladies? Hospital is a dirty mess & I even got a bad infection that I still have. Hospital just sucks! God help me that I never have to go there again. read more

If I could give zero stars I would for this visit. My father in law was admitted to the hospital for stroke symptoms. This is the room they put him in! There was blood all over the walls and cabinets and it was not from him. The room was clearly not cleaned after the last patient. When we my father in law told his nurse about it she just laughed and did absolutely nothing about it. This is completely unacceptable! So many violations made here. If you're pregnant & looking for a hospital to have your baby DO NOT come here!! I was told this was a good hospital which was the reason why I decided to have my first baby here. I had the worst experience my first pregnancy. Everything was going well until I got taken to my labor & delivery room the nurse just walked me to my room and left without helping me lay down nothing, didn't even connect me to the monitors. Which I thought oh she's just having a busy day which I understand because I myself have worked as one especially knowing since we were in a middle of a pandemic. She then comes back and gets so upset with me because I wasn't doing as she asked when she wasn't even explaining herself right. I tried my best si do as she asked for even with pain of the contractions I even had apologize. Then when she went to check me to see how far I was dialated she was so ruff! I have a really high pain tolerance & my reaction to her checking me was to yell from how bad it hurt, it hurt more than the contractions! After that I asked if it was too late to get the epidural, which she just decided to call the guy to put the epidural in & I was already 10cm dialated!!! I don't know if that is even allowed. To top it off she gave my doctor an attitude which was unprofessional & uncalled for. My husband called her to let her know that I had felt like pushing her response was, "She can wait, she doesn't feel anything anyways because of the epidural." Instead of being more empathetic working as a nurse. Her name is SHERYL in the labor and delivery room. If any of you come and get her immediately ask for someone else. My original review was taken down! I had my son 09/2022. I arrived to the hospital and was barely able to walk as my contractions were so strong. My husband informed intake my contractions were minutes apart and I was in so much pain that I couldn't even talk. The nurse in intake insisted that I complete paperwork until I said I was going to have my son in the lobby. Two nurses then took me to the L&D room & they were the only people who actually cared. I ended up being 10cm, the on call doctor arrived.. there was no time to call the L&D doctor as it was time for me to push. The on call doctor was Dr. Pinches... if he's ever your doctor for anything... run! He was rude, had no bedside manners, & could care less about the patient. I told him I felt like I had to push, his response.. "So push!" That wasn't possible being that he wasn't near me to deliver my baby. I eventually delivered my son and it was the intern doctor who delivered. She didn't feel confident that my whole placenta came out, she informed Dr. Pinches who said "it's all there!" He never talked to me other than telling me to push and the intern ended up ordering an ultrasound. She was right, my placenta wasn't out. If it wasn't for her I would've bled out. I went into surgery that same day. I thank the nurses and intern MD, but as far as the oncalk doctor... don't let him in your room! read more

I have to say riverside community was a breath of fresh air... Well staffed with knowledgeable employees. And a couple with great bedside manner willing to go above and beyond the Call of Duty I'm speaking specifically of doctor Freeman and probably the Best nurse I have had the pleasure of being treated by.(Rachel ). Because of these 2 there is a much better chance that the next time I need help I will actually seek it instead of dying at home avoiding the hospital. Thank you so much. YOU were awesome Revised. 4 parties in room which means 4 care schedules... so if somehow you manage ANY rest at all it will be broken up by a 3 am wake up where all lights go on and blood is taken. I'm not a doctor but isnt REST a part of the healing process?? Well someone missed the memo..so if just stopping by for quick help go for it! My uncle was in a rollover crash in Norco and was taken to Riverside Community. The ICU was decent enough, but then he was transferred to a regular room. That's when things went downhill. First off, they use shared rooms. There is maybe two feet of space around the bed. They provide two folding chairs per patient, but there isn't really room to sit down. When it's lunch time, the tray tables take up even more space. As for the actual care, it's been severely lacking and nurse Hariet was rude and defensive when my mom demanded they actually provide some care. We were there for four hours and no one came to check on him. It says they're supposed to turn patients every two hours, but that didn't happen. They did it in the ICU so we know that it should have been happening. Also, he had the same wound dressings from three days ago. His catheter bag was filled to the brim, etc. The nurse, Hariet, was only interested in knocking him out on dilaudid so they wouldn't have to take care of him. Update: He slept in urine-soaked sheets for two days. My mom pointed it out in the afternoon. When we came back the next day, the sheets were still covered in urine. The nurse tried to play dumb and said it must have just happened right before. Nope. The stains were dry. Nice try, though! Communication has been sorely lacking. The orthopedic surgeon said he "thought" he wouldn't need surgery, but still wanted to check something. Then we never heard back after three more days. It's day four and someone is just now coming to register him. We have no idea how long they want to keep him or what the plan of care is. PS stay away from the cafeteria. The food is so disgusting and overpriced. The only positive thing is that they provide free coffee, tea and ice water 24/7. When the cafeteria is open, they also allow you to get iced tea (Fuze peach or unsweetened) from the soda fountain for free. read more
