    The park at sunset ...
    Nick E.

The park I grew up on! An old Kailua park that provides a great recreational area for the neighborhood. Cute playground and plenty of grass to run around on. Neighbors often bring their dogs to the park, so watch out for some surprises. They're generally great at cleaning up after their pets and even others'. But, you can't keep an eye on them all the time this, surprises. The equipment was put up in 1993 so it's a little worn. The kids have more fun climbing trees and swinging. Sometimes there's soccer practice and football practice here. I don't know that they're allowed to, but they aren't bothering anyone and everyone is having a good time. Bring a picnic blanket or volleyball net and you'll be prepared for a blast at Triangle Park!

Great life guards caring, and helpful... I don't want word to get around -the pool will get crowded!

Great pool, friendly lifeguards, rarely crowded. If you enjoy lap swimming, this is the place to go.

It is free. The hours are odd. They have master's swim and other classes, those aren't free, but they aren't expensive.

This pool makes me so happy. I can't believe I live in a place where I can swim for free, outside, every day!

One of the best well kept, hidden secrets on Windward side of Oahu. Lots of free parking available on both sides of the street. Also park along Hui Iwa Street as a secondary option. This site is hidden from the street with secured gates. Ambiance is clean, low key and ideal for comfortably hosting 50 to 60 people. Outside of recreation center includes outdoor tables with benches on both sides of the facility and four BBQ grills. We also had room for bean toss bag set-up for kids and adults. There were tables and chairs inside the recreation center to accommodate 64 guests, kitchen with sink and spacious for setting up food line and desserts. Decided to have coolers of beverages outside of building. Recreation center overlooks 3 ft to 8 ft rectangular swimming pool, kiddie pool, lounge chairs. There's a separate building across from the pools that offer men and womens' restroom. Womens bathroom includes two toilets stalls, shower area, two sinks with two liquid soap dispensers. There are signs that indicate warning no lifeguards on duty. However, we had one lifeguard on duty to ensure safety of guests. No diving allowed sign. There is also a please shower before entering the pool sign located at bathroom entrances. The only amenity this place does not have is a jacuzzi. Beautiful and stunning view of the Koolau Range is the icing on the cake for any celebration. Quite pleasantly surprised with amazing pool party.

Tracy with Arcadia ISR came highly recommended to me by several moms at the gym... I was debating…read moreputting my son in regular swim lessons, but ended up going this route and never looked back. When I researched the ISR method, I learned that drowning is the number one cause of accidental death for children under the age of four in Arizona. And while I know there is no substitute for constant supervision, ISR Self-Rescue lessons provide an extra layer of protection. My son loves the water... whenever he sees it, he wants to go in. It's beyond scary to think about if he somehow were to fall into a pool and an adult wasn't around to save him. If you really want the chills and reassurance that ISR works, check out the testimonial page here: http://www.arcadiaisr.com/testimonials.html The testimonials do not lie. Tracy is fabulous. While it's an investment of both time and money, it's so worth it. Just a few weeks in and my 22 month old son can float and swim to the side of the pool - it's pretty amazing! When Yelp allows us to post videos, I'll do so here... In the meantime, if you are looking at swim lessons / survival class for a child 6 months to 6 years old, I highly recommend ISR!

It's a waste of money and torture for your child. First they charge you a "Registration Fee"…read moreof over $ 100,- What service do they provide for that money ??? Total Nonsense and a ripoff. Then it's $ 80 a week for 10 minute classes. (cash. credit cards are only accepted for the registration fee) All what your child learns is to roll onto the back and float for a few seconds. After that it will drown if nobody comes to help. We have not seen one single child who enjoyed the classes, they all started to cry as soon as they saw the pool. Of course, their video only shows amazing pictures of babies under the water. The main purpose of these courses is to create revenue, the child will not learn to swim or to survive if it falls into an unattended pool. Even worse: It creates a false idea that the baby is safe around water. Take your child to real swimming lessons at the age of 4 years, that is the age recommended by pediatrics. The ISR course won't help your child to learn to swim faster - save your money.
