It has BBQs as well. The rec center is one of the best I've seen by homeowner's standards. Roomy, clean, indoors, restrooms, fridge, sink, stove tables, chairs and a long counter to set up food on. It's a great venue to rent out for an event. The one drawback is you have to live there, or know someone that does I wanna say it's around $100- $150 to rent. Located in the Temple Valley area, across from Koolau Center where Times Market and McDonald's is. Plenty of parking on the street. I would befriend a homeowner or move in to take advantage !@ LOL

Tracy with Arcadia ISR came highly recommended to me by several moms at the gym... I was debating…read moreputting my son in regular swim lessons, but ended up going this route and never looked back. When I researched the ISR method, I learned that drowning is the number one cause of accidental death for children under the age of four in Arizona. And while I know there is no substitute for constant supervision, ISR Self-Rescue lessons provide an extra layer of protection. My son loves the water... whenever he sees it, he wants to go in. It's beyond scary to think about if he somehow were to fall into a pool and an adult wasn't around to save him. If you really want the chills and reassurance that ISR works, check out the testimonial page here: http://www.arcadiaisr.com/testimonials.html The testimonials do not lie. Tracy is fabulous. While it's an investment of both time and money, it's so worth it. Just a few weeks in and my 22 month old son can float and swim to the side of the pool - it's pretty amazing! When Yelp allows us to post videos, I'll do so here... In the meantime, if you are looking at swim lessons / survival class for a child 6 months to 6 years old, I highly recommend ISR!

We are lucky to have class 5 min from the house! The other parents I have talked to are very pleased with their lessons and say that it will get better for my 17month old!

There's a calendar online where you can see what dates and times are available. They fill up fast on the weekend so if you want to plan something, do it quick. My daughter told us last minute she wanted a birthday party. And you know what, finding a venue at the last minute can be so difficult. We got lucky with Mariners Cove Bay Club. They had an opening on Friday night and we just took it. We wanted to do a Saturday but both the 9 am slot and 4pm slot were already reserved. The process to reserve is actually very simple. All I did was call the number on the website and ask for possible dates. It's best to do that in case someone reserved and it hasn't been put on the calendar yet. The next step is to fill out an application and pay a deposit fee. The application just says what day and time you need it for and it outlines the rules. There's a lot of rules so make sure to read it carefully. Some of the rules include no hanging things on the walls or ceilings. So that for us meant no piñata. There's a no bounce house rule. Also in order to get your deposit back, you have to make sure it's the way you left it. The site was great for my daughters party. We had about 12 kids and their families. Her party was at the 4pm slot but we didn't start until 5. I didn't think they would swim but the kids went in the pool and swam for a while and enjoyed every bit of it. The facilities have a kitchen that was very helpful. We were able to store our drinks in there during the party. They also have a sink and counter to put the other things. They normally have a range but it was broken when we had the party. They also have a grill. We would have like to use the range but we instead just brought our crock pot and had our chili in there instead. We also made hot dogs and just heated it all in another crock pot. It worked it very nicely. The room was big enough for us to play games with the kids after dinner and they had a lot of fun. It was a lot of work planning the party but my daughter had a fun time and so did her friends. In the future, we will definitely look into using this facility more.

He has coached both of our daughters -- now 4 and 7 -- and the transformation has been remarkable. Both girls started with a real fear of the water, and Brandon had such a natural, thoughtful way of gently pushing them forward at just the right pace. He always seemed to know exactly what each of them needed to build confidence without feeling overwhelmed. Thanks to Brandon, both girls are now water safe, have learned to swim, and continue to improve their strokes every year. But what really sets him apart is that he makes every single lesson genuinely fun. These are kids on vacation -- there are a million other things competing for their attention -- and yet they look forward to their lessons with him every time. That truly says it all. If you are looking for a swim instructor who is skilled, patient, creative, and just wonderful with kids, Brandon is your person. We feel so lucky to have found him and cannot imagine our trips to Hawaii without him!
