    Happy Sailor, happy life. :)

When I came in with my dog who literally couldn't walk and has a history of torn ACL on each leg, was throwing up and had diarrhea the day before, I was thinking the worst; she was poisoned by a bug, re-injured her leg, or injured her back... I'm from out of town, I called Kaibab, the guy who answered was very nice, he even put me on hold and spoke to the vet and said bring her in. The staff was compassionate , kind to me and I felt like they cared. They were extremely nice. The lady who did initial evaluation was kind and so understanding to me being upset, she asked alot of questions in a calm and compassionate tone. Mind you I was so upset and worried and every person at Kaibab made me feel calm and secure, I felt like my baby was in good hands. Dr Mueller was compassionate with sailor, looked her over thoroughly, checking her ACL, knees, back, eyes, she spent a lot of time asking me questions and listening to me list Sailor's history and my concerns. She even watched a video of sailor from that morning. They did X-rays and when Dr Muller, who never seen my dog before and had no history on her (except for her examination and my long rambling of her history and my thoughts of what it could be) she said Sailor's x-rays looked good, she went over the x-rays with me and that Sailor just bruised her leg, to keep her relaxed, and in a couple of days she'll be good. I was skeptical. No way I thought this was just a bruise or sprain. After one day of rest and pain management Sailor was back to her happy self, walking with no signs of injury. She just bruised her leg!! My family was shocked, I was shocked. In todays world to come across an entire team who was kind, compassionate and professional is rare. Oh and to put the icing on the cake, I paid half of what I thought it would cost. This was an emergency, with 3 x-rays and medication. Less than $400. I'll be forever grateful. This Vet will be recommended to everyone.

Kaibab is owned by VETCOR. It's NOT LOCAL.

If you care at all about "shopping local," don't shop here. I was a client for many years but recently found out that Dr. Monet sold the business to a corporate conglomerate. This means my money is no longer supporting my local community and is instead lining the pockets of a massive corp. called VetCor. This is incredibly disappointing, especially given Dr. Monet's habit of pretending to care about Flagstaff. She clearly doesn't. She cashed out and now she hardly even works. Since she sold the business, prices have skyrocketed and customer service has also dropped dramatically. No one answers the phone, and it takes days to get an email response. I can never get an appointment because they're always booked - yet when I drive by the parking lot is empty? Sounds like they're probably short-staffed. Wonder why? Very, very disappointed in Dr. Monet's choices. Or should I say Dr. Money?!

After the last visit I would never take any animal here not even take a hamster. First of all when I made the appointment I got a list of the fees and the total came out to be $175.00 and when checking out it was $248.52. So that's not the worst part as when we got back home our great cat and best rodent control Harley just laid around the house for 2 days and then when he went outside, we never saw him again. Don't know if he just went off somewhere to die, or if he was mad and ran away after getting 3 shots and stuck twice as the first Microchip came out so it had to be done again. Worst part is that even after a month has gone by we miss him so much and will never find a way to handle the loss of such a great member of our family.

I can always count on Dr. Martin to provide quality care for our two Great Pyrenees! Both Koda and Oso have been going to Kaibab since they were puppies, almost 8 years! Both have suffered from some conditions which some large-breed dogs unfortunately develop. The vets at Kaibab have always been patient with us and our sweet doggies! The clinic rates are very fair. The staff is compassionate, intelligent and kind! 5 stars!!

We brought out 12 year old doxie in as an emergency while visiting Flagstaff. They saw her right away and did a tremendous job in diagnosing what was wrong with her. While the outcome was not what had hoped for, the staff and Dr. Minardi were wonderful and treated our little girl as if she were one of their own. They were extremely caring and compassionate. We couldn't have asked for better service and would highly recommend them.

My dog is a very healthy English Bulldog with no history of medical issues. We took him camping up north at Happy Jack, and shortly after arriving, he began panting heavily. Initially, I thought it was just excitement from the new environment and tried to comfort him with water, walks, and treats. But as the hours passed, his breathing worsened alarmingly, and he started making strange choking or gagging sounds like he was struggling to breathe. Fearing for his life, my husband and I rushed him to the nearest emergency vet--Canyon Pet Hospital--about 30 minutes away. From the moment we arrived, the experience was shocking. Before any examination or treatment, they demanded an outrageous $525 upfront emergency fee. At that moment, I was terrified and not thinking about money, so I paid it. The assistant even announced over her radio "payment secured" like it was some transaction, not an emergency situation involving a living creature. Once my dog was taken back, I was left waiting in confusion and fear. Dr. Karin Sogarrd, the veterinarian, came out and said they had no idea what was wrong and couldn't perform X-rays or labs because of how distressed my dog was. She seemed suspicious about my dog's health history--implying I wasn't being truthful--and that felt like an accusation, adding insult to injury. A while later she pushed for a surgery called stenotic nares, which she admitted she wasn't even sure was necessary. She told me this surgery would help his breathing, but her uncertainty made me question everything. Dr. Sogarrd pressured me hard to leave my dog there for 3-4 days, including a holiday when the hospital would be closed. They gave me a nearly $6,000 estimate, which was completely overwhelming. When I asked what immediate treatments they were doing, they said oxygen, sedation, and anxiety meds. But why push an expensive surgery without a clear diagnosis? They scared me by saying my dog could die if I didn't consent, using guilt and fear to corner me into a decision I wasn't ready to make. After refusing the surgery, I was forced to sign paperwork declining the estimate and forced to sign an AMA (against medical advice) and was subjected to more pressure, including a horrifying statement that if my dog survived it would be "an act of God." This was traumatizing and utterly unprofessional. I just wanted my dog home where he was comfortable, not trapped in a scary hospital with strangers. They then insisted I pay the remaining balance for the medications before they would release my dog to me. Again, they made an announcement over their radio mic about "payment secured" before returning my dog. Once home, I watched him closely, and thankfully he improved significantly within two days as the meds wore off. This made it clear to me that the surgery they wanted was completely unnecessary and that they were trying to take advantage of my vulnerable state. Furthermore, they forgot to return my dog's leash and vest. I called since again, i live almost 3 hours away, and when I asked them to mail it back, they said yes--but I would have to pay over $50 for shipping and they can send me a link to secure payment! This is ridiculous and shows a complete lack of care or responsibility on their part. It felt like they were squeezing money out of me at every possible turn, even for something they forgot. Canyon Pet Hospital, and Dr. Karin Sogarrd in particular, showed zero compassion, pushed unnecessary treatments, and operated with a mindset that prioritized money over care. Their aggressive sales tactics and cold attitude during a critical emergency left me feeling exploited and traumatized. I will be filing a formal complaint with the Better Business Bureau (BBB) about their unprofessional conduct and unethical practices. I cannot, in good conscience, recommend this place to anyone. Please seek emergency care elsewhere and avoid this greedy, heartless establishment

They have been treating my family's animals for a long time now, but today they cleaned my dogs teeth for the first time. My little dog, Tali, has trauma from the last time she was at the vet (no fault of the other vets, but she was super sick, and so now she gets very anxious anytime we walk into a clinic). Highland house calls was patient with her, and I really felt they treated her as one of their own. But what truly made Highland Housecalls stand out for me was their nonjudgmental attitude. Sometimes, when you go into a walk-in veterinarians office, you can leave feeling very guilty- asking yourself "Why didn't I get her teeth cleaned sooner?" Or "How could I have missed that mole?" and even "Do they think I'm a bad pet parent? Am I a bad pet parent?". But Highland Housecalls had me asking none of those questions. They understood that we were doing our best juggling life and taking care of our pets, and that is important to me. I think if more veterinarians were as kind and nonjudgmental as Highland Housecalls, more people would feel comfortable taking their animals to the vet more often. 10/10 for everything they do!!!

Once they gave our dog back to us, we drove 2 hours to Yavapai Animal Emergency in Prescott Valley. They examined him in about 10 minutes. Thoroughly explained what they would do. Give him a shot, clean and staple up cut and send him home. They were done 20 minutes later and we were on our way home. The cost was $680. When I told this awful place in Flagstaff that they should be ashamed of themselves, they told me "we offer the gold standard of care". What a joke. I WAS ALMOST PHYSICALLY ILL.
