I was SO nervous to bring my bun, Mac, here for a last minute stay but the workers at Kingsmark Kennel are top tier and reassured me that she'd be in good hands. In order to transport her to the kennel, I had to get a much smaller cage (which made me feel terrible). Luckily, they have a bigger cage in their break room that she was able to run and hop around in! On top of that, they consistently took her out for cuddles (which she adores). This was my first time separating with her for so long, and it was also my first time letting strangers watch her... but after checking in over the phone and ultimately picking her up, it was clear that the Kingsmark Kennel staff loved her and took great care of her. They make you (and your pet(s)) feel welcome as soon as you walk in. With their amazing rates and lovely staff, I'd recommend this Kennel to anyone looking for a safe and secure place for their pet, exotic or not. I sent my dog, Bagel, here for a night of boarding and a couple days of day camp and was so happy with the experience. She stayed in the K9 cabin and seemed to do great. They ask a number of questions at intake to make sure they take the best care of your pup. They also provide a report card at the end of the stay, which I'm obsessed with. Our dog loves it here and the staff loves him too. They were using our dog to greet new dogs as they came in they said. Also, I believe in supporting women and veteran owned businesses but not at the expense of my dogs health. We had an incident where our dogs nail fell off after getting his nails trimmed here and they are taking no responsibility for it. He started bleeding as we were checking out and we couldn't find the nail anywhere. The owner, Shannon, is basically saying this happens all the time and is brushing it under the rug. Her very uncaring and dismissive response has left us discouraged and believing they put something on his nail to get it to stop bleeding when they trimmed it and it didn't work long enough for us to get out the door. It's too bad that she won't listen to our side of the story and wants to try to "educate" lifetime dog owners. After a trip to the vet, our dog is on antibiotics and pain medicine for the next 7 days and we have to try to keep his foot dry but cover it up with a plastic bag when he goes outside to go to the bathroom until it heals up. The vet said he probably won't feel like doing much activity for the next 2 - 3 months. This was all communicated to Kingsmark. It's disheartening because it was a good thing for a minute. Hi. This is Hero's other mom. I wish we could have had a different outcome as well. What my wife was trying to inquire about was whether or not you had some sort of insurance policy to cover accidents of this nature. But, she was unable to get a word in and was continuously interrupted by you. Of course all parties here are hurt. Us as parents and you as a business owner. We do not blame anyone for what happened however for our dog's nail to be fully torn out is something we have never experienced. We looked for his nail but could not find it in the front lobby which lead us to believe it had to have happened in the back. There were four of us searching the small space and not one of us could find it. Hero has never had anything but good experiences and he is always happy to go there. Where the line was crossed was your lack of follow-up on him as promised by the front staff, your unwillingness to hear our concern and your defensiveness. My wife was not accusatory in trying to open dialog with you and had you given her an opportunity to speak you probably would have heard the pain in her voice as we hate to see our boy in pain. Let me reiterate that his nail was FULLY RIPPED OFF! We have had dogs all our lives and this has never happened. A cracked nail, yes. The quick getting accidentally snipped...sure. But a dogs nail just doesn't fall off unless there is trauma or he has some type of autoimmune disorder...which he does not. Our vet bill was $170 and while we are able to handle the cost we thought we'd reach out to you simply to inquire if you had an insurance policy for things like this and to make sure you, as the owner, knew what had happened. To be spoken over with a condescending attitude and clearly a mind made up on what happened without hearing from the owners only demonstrates to us that your priorities are not in line with what we consider to be a business owner's (with her most important and dependent customers i.e. the dogs) to be deserving of any further care of our boy. Your employees are fantastic and Hero has formed a special bond with some of them. I am hoping that you do not take this out on any employees but rather use this as a learning opportunity. As a side note we also spoke to his regular groomer with 30 years of experience and she said that this kind of injury does not happen unless the nail is trimmed incorrectly. read more

We came up to Flagstaff to ski and put our dog here for doggie daycare for the day. It's a beautiful, nice, large facility. The staff was so friendly on the phone when I booked, and so nice in person. Charlie had a great stay. And bonus, our first day there was free! We'll definitely be back next time we're in Flagstaff, it's nice to have a reliable place to bring your dog if you're traveling but need to do some non-dog activities. read more

My dog had been to Kingsmark for day visits a couple of times prior to this experience. He came home happy those times and I had very positive interactions with the staff. However, my opinion of Kingsmark completely reversed after my dog's stay in August. He was there for over a week. I called every couple of days to check on him, and I was told that he was doing great every time. Within thirty minutes of picking him up, we realized that he had come down with something while he was there. He was sneezing, reverse-sneezing, lethargic, and producing tons of mucus. He sneezed for hours on end that night. Plus, he was showing signs of an ear infection (rubbing his ears on the ground and scratching them). He didn't improve over the next couple of days, so I took him to the vet. They diagnosed him with canine pneumovirus, one of his ears was infected, and the other was about to infect. This resulted in prescriptions, a follow-up visit, and hundreds of dollars in vet bills. I called Kingsmark to let them know all that had happened, and Kayla called me back. I communicated with her for a week or so and within that time, she failed to call me at the time she said several times. I called Kingsmark again to ask if there was anyone else who could help me, and I was directed to Shannon. I worked with her on this for about a month. After sending her documentation of my dog's vet bills, she left me a voicemail saying that Kingsmark would cover "the full amount." I received the check and it covered half of the vet bills to the penny. I reached out to her again and expressed my confusion, given what she said in the voicemail. From there, she sent me a very rude sequence of messages denying that she said that, even though I have proof, told me that my dog's illness could not have been prevented, and said that she's already gone above and beyond for me. I told Shannon the first time I spoke with her on the phone that I was not upset by the fact that he got sick while there--I understand that it is impossible to completely prevent respiratory viruses from spreading. I was bothered that none of her staff members noticed his symptoms and contacted me. She tried to say that her staff can't be expected to know every random symptom out there. But, sneezing, excessive reverse-sneezing, and excess mucus are pretty obvious; my dad told me that he thought my dog was sick almost immediately upon picking him up. In my last text exchange with Shannon, she made it very clear that she was not willing to work with me on this anymore. So, I'm left with only half of the amount I was promised and feeling incredibly frustrated by the customer service failures throughout this months-long ordeal. I would not recommend that anyone take their pet to Kingsmark given the staff's inability to care for the animals' health and safety. read more

This place is wonderful!!! We were just passing through town and needed a place to board our dog in the morning while we did the North Pole Experience. She's highly reactive to other dogs and can't be in an open play environment. The office staff are sooo lovely and assured me they would still play with her separate from other dogs. I had to call a few times to change our plans and they were super accommodating and made everything so easy. On top of everything, when we went to drop her off, they told us it was free because it was her first stay!!! What?! It's hard to find a great dog daycare that's inclusive to dogs that aren't dog-friendly so I'm really grateful for this spot and felt good about leaving her here. This kennel really is as good as it gets. I only wish it was nearby our home. We found it while travelling to Flagstaff and visiting family. We needed a doggie daycamp for our two pointers to go to during the days when we were off exploring the area. I found Kingsmark online, was immediately connected via chat and text with a staff member, could register online and upload all necessary documents, and (best yet) could drop off our dogs anytime without a reservation. We used the daycamp 4 times in a week because our dogs were so happy to be there. They wagged their tails and happily went with the staffers every time I dropped them off. The staff is very friendly and responsive. The grounds appear impeccably maintained. And they were very caring about their critters. It was clear to me that this is a place my dogs enjoyed. I brought my dog to Kingsmark for the first time a while ago, and she came back home with Kennel cough. I know that these things are sometimes inevitable, but I hope that Kingsmark can do better in the future to prevent such outbreaks. I also had a less than nice check-in experience. My dog has allergies that require specific types of food. When I went through everything with the check-in person, I was met with annoyance and attitude. I know that people have bad days sometimes, but I hope Kingsmark can improve their customer service in the future. read more

We travel a lot and finding an amazing groomer on the road can be challenging, especially when our Belgian Malinois doesn't like to be kenneled or left alone for long! My husband and I planned a wedding in Sedona and was not able to have our 4 month old frenchie with us at the time. This was the first time we have left him alone and we were very nervous. Although this kennel was over an hour away from our wedding venue, we drove him there due to the great reviews and the amenities that Kingsmark provided. Being out of town we weren't sure how easy it would be to check our dog in at 6 in the morning while attempting at midnight that same day. The online check in process was so easy and his stay within the next six hours was paid for before he got there, we just needed to bring him and his shot records. Upon arrival, they greeted our frenchie with open arms and the receptionist got on the floor and took him in her lap. She had stated that she had three frenchies of her own and was so excited to see him. I called to check in on him the next day and the staff member stated that he was doing great and they had him in receptionist area greeting new dogs as they came in. The person doing night shift was even able to tell us how he slept! I requested that they give him two days of puppy play on the phone as I overlooked this when filling out the forms online and they made it work. We paid for it when we came to pick him up. Although me and my husband were both nervous about how he would do without us, upon picking him up he was immensely happy and friendly with the front desk staff. We knew he was well cared for. We could not be happier with our first boarding and daycare experience at Kingsmark and would do the drive again should we stay in the area! read more

We've always been wary of kennels and doggy-daycare places, but Kingsmark Kennels was a 100% top-notch experience for us and for our 18 month old rescue pup, Moose. Moose can pretty much take or leave people (unless they have treats), but he LOVES other dogs. We signed him up for the half-day "romp and play," which was 6 hours a day of his favorite thing: playing with other dogs. From talking on the phone to the team, learning which paperwork we needed to bring, getting him up to date on his Bordetella (required every 6 months by Kingsmark), to finally dropping him off and watching him prance through the door, it was an excellent experience. While we were gone, we checked in on Kingsmark's Facebook page about once a day, where they consistently uploaded photos of all the dogs out playing - including Moose! It was great to see that he was out and about having the time of his life, even if we weren't around. Traveling back to Flagstaff, we got delayed and missed the usual pickup window. We called ahead and told them we would be a few hours late, and they said it wouldn't be a problem. They got our payment info over the phone and the night staff had him ready for us when we finally got back into town around 7:30 that evening. Moose was TIRED! He spent an entire day in a near-comatose state recovering from all his playtime. It was a nice treat for us to have him so mellow. Highly recommended! read more

I primarily brought him here during a transitional period for doggy daycare when we didn't have any other doggo's in the house, and he was stoked. I cannot even begin to express how wonderful this place is, my stress level of leaving my baby Ricardo (Frenchie) was beyond HI and as soon as I spoke to the GM Kayla I immediately felt at ease. I received daily updates and pics of my baby having fun. Kayla especially was extremely amazing and kept me informed, as she knew I was freaking out. This review is way over due! This place is AMAZING!! My husband and I travel often for work , but my poor baby Maze can't handle car rides, so I can't take her for trips that require multiple hours on the road. When I first found this place I was very hesitant at first, because Maze was a rescue and I wasn't sure how she would do without being attached to my leg 24/7. But let me tell you! Everyone there are just awesome! They treat her like family! Everytime we arrive she goes crazy with excitement! That shows how well they treat all their furry guests with unconditional love, care, and tons of attention. We did this reluctantly because she absolutely freaks out when there are fireworks. Well, we realized if we didn't board her we would have to stay home for the holiday. We sent her with medication and specific instructions. I called during her stay to check in and was reassured that things had been going well and they'd been giving her the meds. Kingsmark Kennels--not just for the dogs! We travel quite a bit. And when we travel, we do so with no worries about our cat Heidi because she always stays at Kingsmark Kennels while we're gone. Cats are kept in a clean, temperature controlled room, with both a small private place for each cat, and a large open area where each cat takes turns to run, play on climbing toys, stretch out in the sunny window, and explore. The loving staff visit the cats regularly for petting, playing, and brushing. Heidi is fed twice a day, exactly according to our instructions, so her diet is unchanged from home. The families of all of the animals at Kingsmark have to provide proof of current vaccinations, and this ensures that only healthy cats are allowed to play with our cat. Kingsmark is open 6-6 every day of the year and they always have room for Heidi. We can count on them for every trip, even on short notice. We were visiting Flagstaff from the Phx area. We had reservations for the Flagstaff Extreme Zipline and needed someplace to daycare our dogs while we went on that adventure. I called from the valley, got all my questions answered with the most friendly service ever. The customer service was beyond our imagination when we dropped off the dogs for the 1st time. Never having been at the facility, we were greeted with respect and they greeted and loved on our dogs like they were their own. Our dogs immediately went into their facility, no hesitations. When we picked up the dogs, they were happy, tails wagging and actually wanted to visit the lady at the counter before even caring we were there. We traveled out west from North Bend, Ohio and our pup really needed some exercise. We checked out a few other kennels, but we're so glad we went with Kingsmark!
