This was his very first time to go to day care and they said he did good. Im not sure if he really did coz my heart was crying but he survived and so i did. We just had a week and a half stay for my 2 Dalmatians. They got groomed and came home happy and smelling good! I have used this kennel for 9 years, usually once or twice a year. My husband doesn't plan ahead for much, but one thing he does plan ahead for is to get our family out of the Phoenix heat during the summer... at least for a week or two. This summer, he planned ahead and rented a house for us to stay at in Flagstaff. Awesome, right? Well, yes, but unfortunately the house he found wasn't dog friendly. That left me with the job of figuring who would care for our fur babies (pit mixes), Minnie and Georgia. After examining a few options and searching for boarding facilities in the Valley and in Flag, we decided to go with Cinder Hills. They were incredible. Minnie and Georgia shared a suite, and it worked out well... Minnie is older and doesn't need a ton of exercise anymore as she has a hard time getting around, but Georgia is a puppy, so we ended up having Georgia do the Playful Paws Day Camp every other day during her stay... I called to check-in several times and always got a call back to give me an update. The staff was super friendly and accommodating to our needs and I absolutely love how they post pictures to Facebook so you can see your dogs. (See the ones I posted here, pulled from the site!) I also like that CHBK doesn't charge for food, medication administration, etc... the cost absolutely adds up here, but it's worth it to know that your dogs are in great hands. Last thing worth noting: If you're in need of trans"paw"tation services for your pet, CHBK offers services through a special stretch limousine! We didn't take advantage, but good to know it's there if you need it! Thanks again to all of the staff at Cinder Hills for taking such great care of Minnie and Georgia... we really appreciate it! Cinder Hills Boarding Kennel - Playtime in the doggie day camp! - Pet Sitting Near Me - Flagstaff, Arizona

We left our 2 dogs for 9 days. 1. We wrote explicit instructions on feeding - Large dog had serious food allergies that resulted in ulcers and endoscopy ($7000) previously. Gave them a 3 weeks supply (for both) of dry dog food. To not throw out if they don't eat but refrigerate for next meal due to expense. ($130 a bag). If they didn't eat initially Cinder Hills stated would hand feed them. 2. Tooth brushing each night on large dog which they said they would do. 3. Large dog had ear drops to be instilled 1x Q day for 7 days which they said they would do. When we returned the small dog had lost 3 lbs, 21% and spine showing. The other large dog lost 5 lbs, 10 %. The dog food bag ran out the day before (per Cinder Hills), so what were they feeding the large dog with food allergies for 2 days and we received no call regarding this. How could they run out with so much food (3 week supply for both) and both lost weight. The new ear drops bottle had not been opened thus no medication given. The large dog's gums bled when brushed, which does not happened when brushed daily. The large dog with food allergies had loose mucous stools for 7 days (which only happened previously prior to endoscopy for ulcers resulted from food allergies) and regurgitating mucus. Both ended up with Kennel cough as well per Vet consultation. Called the manager of Cinder Hills. He said, "I have no explanation regarding what happened to all the food, I saw the large bag of food. No explanation why ears were not medicated or teeth brushed. Sorry." When we arrived and left it appeared that it was staffed by teenagers. There were only teenagers at drop off and pick up. No manager or owner present. The kennel was very clean and secure on initial tour. Unfortunately, we will not be boarding our dogs in the future at Cinder Hills. read more

I've been using Cinder Hills Boarding Kennel for my cat Argyle for almost 3 years now and love everything about it. The staff is absolutely amazing at accommodating my busy unpredictable schedule and taking excellent care of Argyle. They post photos on their Facebook page that always brightens my day when I'm away for a week or two. In over a decade of being a dog owner, I have never had to board my dog. NEVER. This year, while on our white water trip we HAD TO find someone to watch Juno. We had a kennel in mind, recommended by a friend. We filled out the paperwork on their website, and gave all our vets contact info, over a week in advance. It took 3 different people, 3 tries at running my credit card for the kennel tech to finally get the number right. The tech let it slip that they write down all the cc info physically, then enter it into their system. I asked, "What happens to the paper, you just wrote all my info on?" He said after a while they get burned... Now I am not paranoid, I wouldn't even describe myself as cautious when it comes to identity theft, but this practice of leaving Credit card numbers, precariously piled until one day there are so many that they just need to be burned... just doesn't sit right.  I just didn't feel good about it. The owner assured me this was a "secure" transaction, and we prepaid 9 days in advance to get a cheaper rate.  When we arrived the kennel, the first thing they asked for were her shot records. They had NEVER asked me to bring shot records, not in any email, not in any phone conversation. The owner blamed, accused the faults on me... We contacted our vet, and low and behold Juno was not current on the shot series. The Kennel asked me to go to the feed store to purchase two syringes, and inject them myself. The kennel would then, begrudgingly take my dog. Wearily I purchased the vaccines and called numerous other kennels in the area. No one recommended, approved or would even take Juno with this method and timeline of vaccinations. It was clear to me a kennel was not the best option for my pet. read more

I cannot even begin to say how WONDERFUL the owners and staff are. This is the only place I would ever trust with my furry babies. They take extra good care of them and post pics to Facebook so you can see them while you are away. They don't charge for things like medication administration as many kennels do, the kennels are large and they don't cut the size of the kennel when they are busy. About 5 years ago just before we went on vacation we found out that our 13 year old Lab had bone cancer, she had never been kenneled before and were unsure how she would respond, the folks at CHBK assured us that she would be well taken care of. They kept her in a heated suite and even though she was in a lot of pain they gave her a lot of love and attention while we were not able to be there. We now have a 2 year old Lab and once again found ourselves in need of a kennel. There is a small airport in Flagstaff that made it very easy for us (comming from Lake Havasu City) to drop off our girl and fly out for the holidays. It is so awesome to see her on thier Facebook page and how much fun she is having. There was at least a dozen pic's of her in just a couple of days. There's no other place that I would leave my pet and I dare anyone to find a cleaner and more friendly place than Cinder Hills, they're family read more

I've been taking my dogs to Cinder Hills for years, and am completely thrilled with their service. Their kennels are large, clean and well heated/cooled/ventilated, and our dogs have an absolutely wonderful time every time they go... they hardly look back at me when I drop them off! Al and his family and employees obviously love what they do, and they treat their "campers" like family. One thing that impressed me the first time I went to check out Cinder Hills is that they'll show you around without appointment... meaning that they don't do a quick clean-up or change anything just for a tour. Great place. Clean and nice people. Out a bit from Flag about 10 miles but the dogs seems to love it. Will use them again if needed. Not sure I like the holiday thing though. We took a road trip from TX to see the Grand Canyon and decided at the last minute that we wanted an extra day to see it without our pups. Decided to give cinder hills a call after seeing all the great reviews. We called in the afternoon yesterday and luckily they had room for both our dogs to stay for the day today. The people in the front office were awesome and you could tell they really care about the animals coming to them. They made our dogs feel welcomed right away! My partner and I recently began boarding our 3 cats and dog at Cinder Hills. We chose Cinder Hills based on a recommendation from our friend Joan Carstensen who drives from Kachina Village to Cosnino area to board her pets because she likes them so much. Cinder Hills is conveniently located near our home and we get to see how much fun dogs have playing in their yard. We have been very pleased with the services at Cinder Hills. They treat our pets like their own and are incredibly kind and good hearted people. We have another dog, a very elderly black lab, and have been reluctant to board him because of his age and difficulty getting around. After our great experiences with the other pets, we feel absolutely comfortable bringing him to Cinder Hills. It's a real gem! read more

We have boarded our dogs at Cinder Hills twice. They have a wonderful staff who are very friendly both in person, via email, and on the phone. One of my favorite things they do is offer hikes and day camp, and then they post photos of your pup(s) or cat(s) having fun on their FB page. Their kennels are safely contained, spacious, and have AC/heat. Although they are a little out of the way from us, we are happy to bring our dogs there when we need to go out of town. read more

If you're dying to take a vacation but have no one to watch your dogs while your away; look no further, this place is awesome, and reasonably priced compared to other kennels I've priced in AZ, TX, and California. They don't charge extra to take your dogs out to play like most others do, thas right! its already included'; you can add 1-3 mile walks and play sessions with other dogs for a small fee, but no worries if you don't because they get play time with all the wonderful techs there. You can tell the employees are real animal lovers, they were on their knees giving my boxers smooches as soon as they walked in . They treat them like royalty, the owners take the time to explain why their kennel is so much better than others in town ( differently types of certifications, trainings etc, ) they were patient enough to show us around the entire facility , where the pups were going to stay , play , different options for playtimes etc. Look no further this place is awesome, my pups had so much fun during their 4 day stay they've been sleeping for two days straight.
