I love that there was parking on site, easy to read menu, and a restroom open to customers. There are games available to play on the patio while you enjoy your treat. The service was quick and respectful. Their items are served with fresh fruit and homemade mochi! Their service items are eco-friendly with wooden spoons, compostable containers, and straws.

Second time at Kai, I wanted to get a Poke Bowl and we also ordered a Dirty Soda. My poke Bowl was good, not great but good. It included ahi tuna, and tiny 'chicklet' size mango, a sprinkling of green onion. I'd like bigger chunks of mango, more green onion, something was missing .. ah! The spicy Mayo, I went to adk for it and the guy knew right away why I was there. Like I said it was good, I will still go again because I really think they are pretty good. Maybe it was an off day. Good service and quick. Their shaved ice is amazing!

A great spot for Hawaiian-style shave ice. The shave ice is absolutely delicious, the texture and flavors are very close to what you would find in Hawaii. Their açaí bowls are also fresh, well-portioned, and delicious. Overall, a great experience and a place I'll definitely be returning to.

Shaved ice, syrup is just on the top, the bottom didn't get syrup.

Took a drive down there to try this place out. It was really busy when we went there, took 25 minutes to place our order. When we got our order I was disappointed to see that a good portion of our shaved ice was not hit with the syrup. The ice itself was nice tho and did resemble the Hawaii style shaved ice. I can't speak on the poke or anything else as we only got shaved ice. Space was a little bit small and didn't have much parking or seating near by.

    Kai shaved ice. Delicious.

A nice change from the other local dessert places around here. The shaved ice with ice cream is pretty good and shareable. The menu Kai one is good. Also the Açai bowls are definitely a good size as well.

I have never been a fan of shaved iced. That was until i came to Morro Bay and went to Kai Shaved Ice. Instantly, after taking a bite, I became a Kai Shaved Ice lover. I will yearn for this. Should I ever return to Morro Bay, just know that Kai Shave Ice, is most likely the contributing factor.

The interior has an inviting decor, but seating is limited. There are also outdoor tables along the side the building. The Rock Shoyu Ramen had a good amount of noodles along with three good-sized pieces of pork belly (albeit a bit fatty), pickled fresno peppers & shallots, topped with green onion, an ajitama, umami-rich egg and a sheet of nori. The broth was complex with the duck fat and togarashi; it is noted the broth contains pork, chicken and dasmi. It was excellent. Their Beef Bulgogi Bowl was quite good. It consisted of four char grilled filet mignon skewers (2 pieces per skewer), kimchi, shredded carrots & daikon, pickled red onion, avocado slices, over herbed brown rice and topped with green onions, black sesame seeds, basil and a gochujang glaze. The portion was generous and quite filling. Service was friendly, and our selections were delivered in short order from the kitchen.

Cute little place with lovely decor- very inviting. You order the minute you come inside. It's very casual and when you are done you put your empty dishes away in the back. If you order a drink it's self serve as well. The poki bowl was abundant and I got half rice and half greens, the cubes fish was fresh. I just wished couple of sauces were offered such as eel or teriyaki sauce, ponzu sauce, or spicy mayo sauce on the side. The sauces would have given it the extra life. Now the ramens....complete passes on both. Noodle texture was probably the best thing for both ramens. Both broth was too sweet and it didn't pass for me as a tasty ramen of any sort. Edible...sure, but I wouldn't come back to eat this.

On a quick day trip on a Friday afternoon, we decided to give this place a try. No reservation and were promptly greeted and seated. Although we did not have a full bay view, we had a partial bay view. Some hits and misses with food and service. 1. Bowl of Clam Chowder (no bread bowls available). Chowder was piping hot and had nice pieces of clams (dad got a bit of clam shell..so be careful), celery and potatoes. The chowder was very creamy and not grainy or watery like other locations. I would definitely order again 5/5 2. Fish & Chips: Fresh Pacific cod, lightly breaded, served with house-made tartar sauce. Fish was fried to perfection. 5/5 3. Seafood Pasta: Linguini with jumbo prawns, fresh catch, Cajun cream sauce, garlic bread. Everything tasted fresh and seasoned perfectly 5/5 4. Side of Garlic bread: extremely disappointing. We ordered garlic bread with our chowder, it never came. Waitress decided to serve it with the mains (fish and chips) and we ordered for the entire table and she only brought 2 pieces. 5. Insalata Molina: Mixed greens, arugula, pear, walnuts, crumbled blue cheese, mango vinaigrette. Couldn't tell you if this was any good bc the waitress NEVER brought but charged us for it. She then takes it off the bill and brings me the salad in a Styrofoam container. I told her I didn't want it and put it in my bag. Salad was so soggy (which means the kitchen prepared it and the waitress forgot to serve it) I would not order and do not recommend ordering it bc it was the size of a side salad definitely not worth the price point. 6. Mocktail Lavender lemonade: definitely not balanced, was pretty tart and again the price point was off. It was about 8oz lemonade for $12 They do offer a nice selection of wines. Restrooms are located outside the restaurant and are public restrooms, pretty dirty and out of stock. Although our service was a big miss, I do recommend the food items we ordered. I did take a star off due to the service.

That would have been fine, but they have their part of the curve roped off and I would have had to either hop over the rope or walk around. Not very easy for someone with a bad foot. I ordered a cheeseburger & tater tots and chicken strips & fries. There are tables with umbrellas where you can sit while you dine or while you wait for your electronic thingy to go off. There were lots of diners, mostly tourists. The cashier was saying he had worked there for 18 and a 1/2 years while selling up people's orders. Since there was a credit card fee I paid cash, but I missed the fact that they charge for to-go packaging!! And, there is no free refills on sodas. I went to Dollar Tree to buy soda instead. The order took a long time, which doesn't surprise me since there were lots of folks there, and they might share the kitchen with Giovanni's Fish Marker around the corner. The tater tots were not done, should have been crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, right? The burger was not good, the romaine lettuce was totally cooked. The chicken strips were passable, the fries seemed to be battered but they were too soft after sitting in the to-go container with the lid closed. I probably won't come here again, sorry.
