Pleasantly surprised by this stall in Mills Market. I'm not often impressed by food hall vendors but Kai Kai blew me away. Their BBQ meats were all super good. The crispy pork was delicious with crunchy skin and tender meat attached. The roasted duck was a little fatty and our pieces were more skin than meat. The seasoning was on the salty side. The char siu was thick and marinated very well. Good balance of sweet and savory. The platter came with plenty of rice and a hearty side of bok choy. The two sauces are great compliments for the meats. We also shared an order of the steamed duck buns. They were fluffy and sweet with juicy duck meat inside. It was delightful. There's a lot more food to try at Kai Kai and they do catering too.
Finally gave them a try. My go to, uni girl was closed when I arrived, so I decided to try this popular spot. I got the BBQ chicken plate with egg fried rice. The chicken was Char shu style, which was sweet. I didn't really care for it, but I can see why it's popular. The plate came with rice (I upgraded for fried rice) and baby bok choy. The plate was ok, but not worth the price in my opinion. I would go back to try the dumplings, but the rest of the menu doesn't seem right for me.
Came here sometime last year when they first opened. They are def more organized. The long lines are gone so ordering is easier. Waiting for my food did still take time, but when it came it still was so good. I forgot about the wait. More organized seating at this multi food Asian food vendor food hall. We def like it much better. There's a parking lot in the back and it fills up but def be patient bc the parking will be close by and free. Theres also restrooms inside here too closer to the door where the parking lot is
Very very very delicious. I think Mills Market is more of a lunch spot because we've come here twice around 7 and it seems that we're late and everything else is sold out - next time we're coming for lunch. That being said, Kai Kai was not sold out. They made the shrimp dumplings fresh and they were SO GOOD. The flavor of the pork and rice (omg the garlic rice.. yum) was good, but the platter was room temp/cold. You could tell it had been ready and sitting for quite some time. Still delicious and I would come back to have it again, but like I said - I think it needs to be during lunch.
Kai Kai BBQ was a hit besides one aspect. When we walked into Mills Market we saw Kai Kai was crowded and we understood why. Though the one turn off was how the guy at the counter was a tad rude and almost uninterested in taking our order. Which can be understandable, given how busy they were. He just had a small attitude and kept looking away from us with almost a dirty look as if we just stepped on his toe or something. However, the food was absolutely delicious and we loved every bite. We got the 3 meat combo of Sausage, Duck, and Honey Chicken. It came with a heavy heaping of rice. The combo was about $20 so that's not too bad in my opinion. Would definitely come back for the food.
This place is worth the hype!!! The char siu pork is amazing, delicious, and perfect! The serving is generous, and I do think the prices are very fair. I would be a patron way more often if this wasn't located inside Mills Market. I only go during the day on weekdays because it is always packed in there. As lively as it is, it is extremely overstimulating at times. Kai Kai always has the longest line, and I now understand why!!
Been here a few times, it's located inside of Mills Market. It is such a fun little market with multiple shops inside. Parking can be a little tough, there is a parking lot out back as well as some street parking along the main road. They have entrances on both sides. Snagging a table can be a bit difficult too sometimes if it is busy. There is usual some free standing high tops always free though. The decor inside is cute with lights and such strewn above. The baos are really good. My all time favorite are their dumplings, they are a must get every time. Tonight I also got the vegetable lo mein to try, it was solid. If you're in the area and looking for a good Asian Market to try, you should swing by and check this one out.
I love this spot in the Mills Market when I visit Orlando! They went viral and the rave is real! Been going here for a couple months now and I love gettin' their roasted duck for my mom when I head back home! I normally get the char siu and roasted duck with the garlic rice. It's order and wait for your number to be called out kinda service since in a small food hall market. There's plenty of other food stands that serve different Asian cuisine as well. Try them all out!
We got the roasted duck, pork and bbq pork. I thought the service was okay, they got the order wrong and was not very nice when we asked to fix it. We also waited extra long for the correct order. The roast pork was wayyy too fatty, and the skin was not crispy at all! It was more like a chewy texture. The bbq pork was definitely a little better but very sweet. They also don't have water/ water cups, so definitely bring your own of buy it. Overall this is a spot for a quick to go bite but the dining area was okay. Some people never clean up after themselves a there aren't many clean tables to utilize in such a high traffic area. The bathrooms aren't clean and the lines are long.
Tucked in the Mills Market store, alongside several other restaurants, Kai Kai has a casual, food-hall atmosphere. Seating is limited, and it can feel crowded during the day. On our visit about 30 minutes before closing we ordered the roast duck 2/5, crispy pork 4/5,and char siu pork 3/5, served with rice and bok choy. The duck was the most disappointing of the trio. Overly oily, with mostly bone and very little meat. My son couldn't enjoy it at all and ended up discarding it. The char siu pork was a better portion but I couldn't taste the signature sweet glaze that it's known for. Still, I found it a bit too dry and chewy for my taste; all the dishes did come with a standard hoisin dipping sauce, but I'm a huge fan of the meat being cooked flavored without the need for sauces to mask the flavor. The crispy pork offered the most promise, with the expected crunchy skin, but overall the meal left me wishing for more tenderness in the meat and a more generous use of sauce to tie everything together. Given the Michelin recommendation, expectations were high. In this case, the experience fell short. Perhaps the late-night timing contributed, but based on what I tasted, I would not place Kai Kai among Orlando's standout dining destinations.

Having to pick only a couple of things to try was so hard. Everything looked so delicious. We ordered the Siu Mai, Young Chow Fried Rice, Pork Dumplings, and the Spicy Sichuan Wings. Everything was so good, and I need to go back for more. It's inside Mills Market and I highly recommend it! read more

Located in the Mills market this is a great option inside the food hall. I had the shrimp and pork dumplings and both were delicious. They certainly do not skimp on the protein, and the flavor was excellent. The staff was friendly and helpful while ordering and my number was called shortly And there was ample seating available when I was there. read more
I've been here twice and both times the food was really delicious. I tried the honey bbq chicken rice box and the chicken was very well seasoned! The order is super repeatable and I would definitely get this again at another point in time. The second time I got the sichuan wings and omg what a tasty masterpiece. I loved the spice level and crunch of the wings. I ordered it with a side of white rice and I loved it! The atmosphere is super cute. It gave me adult food court vibes. We came for dinner on a busy Saturday night, and while it was crowded, navigating through the space was pretty easy. We decided to go with the honey BBQ chicken rice box ($9.95) with a fried rice upgrade ($5), chicken dumplings ($7.95), and honey BBQ pork baos ($6.95). The rice box was tasty, but the chicken is bone-in (which isn't mentioned on the menu) so it was hard to eat as a bowl with a fork and knife. I personally prefer boneless and would not get that again. The fried rice was outstanding though- definitely a must-try. The chicken dumplings were also really tasty, and the baos? Those were my favorite. I highly recommend getting them! I honestly give them the 5 start for only the appetizers and fried rice! Service was friendly, and our food came out quickly. If you're planning to eat inside the market, seating can be a bit limited, with most options being standing tables. Next time, I'll probably opt for a to-go order to make things easier. Kai Kai BBQ is a good, authentic spot that I'll definitely try again. read more
Lots to love, but a bit inconsistent. I've had Kai Kai several times -- once before they had a physical location while at a food festival and several times at their Mills Market location. Overall, I think Kai Kai has room for improvement, but I liked several of their dishes! First off, their homemade rice noodles are amazing. When you're able to get them, the texture is perfect, chewy, and has the perfect bite. However, it's a labor-intensive dish, so they tend to run out quickly and I'm not able to get my fix every time. There was one time where the Beef Chow Fun was a little salty, but it was just that one time. I also really enjoyed their whole Soy Sauce Chicken and their Singapore Rice Noodles! The value of the Soy Sauce Chicken can't be beat! It's huge and cooked perfectly every time. The only thing that I have mixed feelings about with Kai Kai is their roast duck. I LOVE roast duck, but I don't think I'd get it here. It's a staple in Cantonese-style cuisine, but I find that their ducks are why too boney and the skin isn't as crispy as I'd like. I think I'd prefer to get a duck at Tasty Wok across the street. Service is efficient and friendly! They're always super nice and give us extra chili oil when we ask. It does take a little while for food to come out, but they make the dim sum and noodle dishes fresh! We usually wait for about 10-15 minutes for our food -- this isn't the place to go if you're looking for food that's ready to go under a warmer. Overall, I'd recommend them as a chill lunch or hangout spot, especially if you're checking out some of the other places nearby too. read more
The food we got was outstanding flavorful. When talking to the cashier the knowledge of the food that they were serving with outstanding, they recommended things and answer all our questions. The place was very exciting and vibrant. They had baked goods ice cream really need to go here and check this out. read more

This spot is one of the many restaurants located inside of the Mills Market located off of Mills and Colonial Dr. that replaced the previous Asian market there. There were so many places to choose from but I decided to start with Kai Kai BBQ! There was a bit of a line but the person up at the register was quick to get through the line! I ordered the pork Bao and the duck Bao to go since I had to run back to work and then I also ordered the mango drink with pulp which was SO good! The buns themselves were okay but nothing super impressive. I had a hard time peeling the paper off the bottom of the buns themselves when it was time to eat, but they might've stuck in transit from the restaurant to my office. It might be something that's better enjoyed fresh and in the moment so perhaps next time I'll make sure I'll have time to stay and eat. Kai Kai has a decent sized menu so I'd like to try some of their noodles or rice boxes next time! read more
I've seen so much about this place on social media. I was very much excited to try this place especially since how much they boast about their crispy skin on their food. Sadly, I was left unimpressed and pretty disappointed by the meal. I did come here with another Yelp friend whose experience was much better than mine but I was surprised at the stark difference of quality in food. I got the soy chicken was to be frank tasted awful. It was flavored but pretty bland and cut in an awkward way so I was struggling to eat it somewhat gracefully (and not like a baby's first time with utensils). It was full of bones and impossible to enjoy. The rice was a plain as possible. I was shocked at how plain this rice was. The boy choy was nice but like everything else missing seasoning. There was some sort of oyster sauce mixed with soy sauce which was the only way I was able to enjoy the food. The only reason this gets three stars is because my friend who got a duck fried rice and their cucumber salad. The duck fried rice was out of this world. It was a top tier fried rice and full of mouthwatering flavors. I was definitely regretting my safe dish. I also don't eat pork so I was limited on my options. The cucumber salad was fresh, crunch and so so good. They definitely have good options here and the duck fried rice is it! But when you get a not so good option, it definitely falls flat sadly. Like all my reviews as I don't live near this area, I do consider is this worth the drive. If I was in a fried rice mood and had time to spare, yes absolutely. But otherwise coming specifically to Kai Kai, would not be a drive I recommend if you are out of Orlando as you can definitely find other spots with similar concepts most likely closer to you. But I do recommend coming to the Mills Market area as it does have options worth the drive in my opinion. If you have been eyeing coming to Mills Market, definitely make the drive and try ONE thing from here if the line isn't too busy (which I recommend duck fried rice or cucumber salad). read more
Good not great. They're cranking out a lot of classics and some unique items too but flavors weren't to my preference. No real service it's a counter/stall, just order then grab your food when they call for you. Inside mills market which has other food stalls too. Can be really busy and chaotic on weekends. Cool to see tien hung be transformed into this place and Kai Kai is a great anchor. read more

We finally got to visit Kai Kai BBQ & Dumplings located inside the Mills Market! My boyfriend ordered the Honey BBQ Rib Rice Box while I ordered the two meat option and got it with Roast Duck and Char Siu Pork to go. Everything was fresh and delicious even down to the bok choy. I especially love how they add extra sauces on the side to every order. The duck was fatty and the meat super tender, dunk it in some of the sauce and its perfect, and the Pork was flavorful too. Great portion for only $16 a box plus there is a whole bakery area shared in the market so we also got a Taro mochi bun, an Ube cream bun, and a whole loaf of Pandan bread to take home to share. All three were winners! Next time I come I will most likely try some of their dim sum menu and upgrade to the Hainan Garlic Rice as well. Everything is packaged in to go containers even if you are dining inside the food hall. Service was friendly and quick with less than a 10 minute wait for our food even with the space being super busy and crowded. This market space is a fantastic idea and I cant wait to come back and try some more Kai Kai! read more

One of my favorite spots to get dumplings and cucumber salad. The cucumber salad is fresh and simple and the dumplings are juicy and always filled. I do recommend both! The staff working are always nice and food comes out pretty fast. This place shares the space with other restaurants so there may not always be seating when it gets busy. It is worth stopping by and trying! read more
For a small market type place, this has some serious roast duck and roast pork. I had the garlic rice as an added option and this could seriously be my last meal on earth, besides my mom's cooking. Mills market is about to be a weekly stop for me!!! What a great new addition. As it was our first time to the market and to Kai Kai we got the 3 protein option rice box to get to try a lot and find out our favorite. All of them were soooo good!!! The pork was definitely a stand out and would have to make this a staple every time we go. Everything was so delicious, fresh, and flavorful with the sauces that came on the side. Also gave so much rice! Ordering was quick and efficient and I can see how they sell out. The dumplings were also sooo good the filling was divine and the crispy outside was fried perfect. I can't wait to come back and try more, next on my list is definitely their hand made noodles! read more

This place was top notch. Located inside mills market. I had never been here before. I had a blast. So trendy and so many food options. I had the bbq pork bun from Kai Kai and the fried chicken dumplings. They were Devine! Absolutely amazing. I can't wait to go back and try other things on the menu. read more

The line took 35 to order but the cashier was very friendly. The chicken dumplings were really yummy, I would order that again. We ordered both flavor of wings and the shesuan was not spicy at all. The Singapore rice noodles were mid on my opinion, didn't have much flavor but they did pack a lot of stuff in it. read more
Stopped by to grab quick dinner. My son was getting unigirl and I decided to do Kai Kai. I choose the fried pork and soy sauce chicken and rice. The food was good. Came with 2 sauces and some bok choy. I think the quantity is small for the price. I'm just use to eating these simple basic Chinese dishes up north that are inexpensive. I would say you're paying for quality. With a tip this was roughly $19. The food is definitely cleaner than the Asian markets though, just more $. read more

Came to Orlando for vacation and found the Michelin guide Mills Market. We decided to try Kai Kai and we were glad we did! We ordered the bbq bento with duck, bbq pork and roast pork. The bbq pork was delicious and probably one of the best bbq pork I've ever had in the US - flavorful and very soft. The duck and roast pork were good too. We will definitely go back if we are in the area again! The line is long but it's worth the wait. The food comes out pretty quick after ordering. read more

This was BUSSIN. Got me wanting me to marry the damn crispy pork. And the bbq pork although I wish they put the sauce on it instead of the side. But nevertheless, definitely gonna visit again in the future but I will say I wasn't a fan of the dumplings. I've tried crispier and juicier and just better overall. read more
I love getting rice boxes here! Comes with a protein, rice and bok choy -- making it a well rounded plate. I tried the bbq char siu and roasted duck and really enjoyed both of them. The wait can take a while but the staff is fantastic and it's nice to be able to watch them prepare your food with the open kitchen. Parking can be a bit difficult to snag but once you get it, Kai Kai and other places in Mills Market are definitely worth a visit. read more

Just like the rest of Orlando, I had to see if the Kai Kai hype is real or not. And sadly for us it was 'ehh'. At least the food. It was good, don't get me wrong. Just not one hour standing in line waiting good. We tried a bit of everything; crispy pork, beef chow fun, honey bbq chicken, and dumplings. I was a bit bummed they were out of the pan fried dumplings. Out of everything we tried, we enjoyed the dumplings and beef chow fun the most. And the skin on the crispy pork. For obvious reasons. The staff themselves on the other hand deserve five stars alone. It is family run with everything made from scratch. Having an open kitchen allows us guests with an inside look into their operation, which I always find cool. Be prepared to wait. And pending on the day and time you visit, prepare to wait quite a bit. We waited over one hour but also visited around 1pm on a Saturday. Don't make the same mistake we did. Which also won't help your chances of snagging parking either. Kai Kai deserves to be tried at least once, at the least. read more

Numerous food spots under one roof. We enjoyed the dishes from @KaiKai BBq. Excellent flavors!! Friendly service and very helpful. Plenty of trained folks working the counter. Food hall was very cleaned with folks working the floor to ensure all was cleaned. A great Asian vibe. Grab N Go of assorted sweets along the wall. With a wall of cold beverages. A rare five-star rating from me, but well deserved for this gem of an Asian cuisine food stall within Mills Market. Savory duck baos and the crispy pork meal was hot, delicious and reasonably priced especially for American portions sizes. The Siu Mai was next level packed with meaty goodness and sauce served with it was more like a hoisin rather than a typical soy sauce. The menu was varied with something for everyone including vegetarians. Note that Mills Market is a food court style place, so sit down seating is limited and first-come, first-served. There's several high tops to stand and enjoy a bite from several vendors, or you can enjoy taking it home with you. In many case, it's a must try! read more

Ordered the pick two meats and upgraded to garlic rice which was also accompanied with bok choy- I chose the soy sauce chicken & crispy pork. The rice was amazing! I usually don't like ordering white rice but this was flavored so well! The chicken and pork were both tasty, but some portions of the pork was cold. The meal as a whole was above average! read more

Returned for the 3rd time this year. Food was excellent, juicy, flavorful. Food was room temperature, not hot but warm - ready to eat. Although the food is great I still think it's a little expensive for a plastic to go container and plastic utensils. If this was a stand alone sit down restaurant I think it would be more acceptable to my wallet. lol.... My cost today was $27 for LUNCH. A little high. $19.50 meal $1.85 can soda $5 tip + tax = $27 Late lunch vibe, food hall was steady, pretty warm inside that it became a little too hot for me personally. On the plus side, I ate one small serving and was able to pack up my container and go. I guess that's a plus... I'll return as good is really good. Next time going to try something different to explore the menu more. Meh food wasn't that great. They are charging 60 dollars for a roasted duck which is insanely expensive and it doesn't taste like a 60 dollar roasted duck. The pork cha shu was so red and pretty sweet. Not a good either. The crispy pork wasn't even crispy. They soy sauce chicken was decent. Overall, not worth the money. read more

I stumbled across this spot while exploring Unigirl, and I'm glad I did! This place is a hidden gem--it truly feels like stepping into an oriental marketplace, full of energy and flavor. Be warned: seating and parking are both very limited, so I opted to order my food to go. It's a fast-paced environment, likely because it's always busy, which is a good sign when it comes to food quality. I tried the Honey BBQ Pork Bao, the Turnip Cake (which, by the way, is delicious--I'd come back just for that), and the Singapore Rice Noodles. The noodles were just okay--I've had better--but they were still satisfying. Overall, it's a fun place to try out, especially if you're into dim sum or want to sample a variety of small dishes. Just keep in mind that prices can add up quickly since it's more of a dim sum-style setup. If you're on a tight budget, you might want to stick with one entrée. read more
So my social media has been bombarded by recommendations for this place and I finally stopped in. A good test of these types of spots is their roast pork. Being Cantonese and from New York, I'm pretty judgmental about Cantonese/Hong Kong food, the crispy roast pork here is probably the worst I've ever had. It's salty and the skin is poorly prepared. The food is very delicious and authentic! Some of the dim sum prices are a little high and same with the noodles, but everything is tasty. The best deal are the meats, everything is flavorful and it's great amount for sharing. Come early so they don't run out of meats to buy which is a mistake we made on our first visit. The seating is limited so come early, around opening to get some seats. read more

One of the many vendors selling food here. Kai Kai Had the longest line as they are she most popular here. I got their gyoza there fried buns and fried shrimp. These were all good I will say the fried shrimp can become a lot as it does not come with a sauce. There are not a lot of seating options here for how many people come. It's best if you are ordering to go. read more

First time here, area was busy for lunar new year festivities. Inside looked clean and similar to outdoor street markets in theme, employees were nice and answered any questions or recommendations about their menu. Forgot to take a picture but I got the duck bao and it was delicious! Would come here again to try more of their menu. read more
