Delicious food! I've eaten from here on many occasions. From the coffee to their peroshki (savory hand pies), to the open fire grilled kebabs, this cafe is wonderful! All food is made in their kitchen daily. They have soups, dumplings/manti, a variety of salads, chicken dishes, fish dishes, lots of cold beverages and beautiful cakes and desserts! The staff is friendly and helpful. During the day they have a Plov chef that makes traditional Plov in a massive cauldron which can be purchased by the pound. YUM! read more

I came in for a cappuccino before work. Quick and friendly service. The cappuccino was just the boost of energy I needed. There was an option of brown sugar, white and even liquid sugar. I only saw the option of regular milk. While I did not have a sweet tooth when I entered looking at the choices of desserts they had was very tempting. This was my first time in a Brighton beach area, so also the 1st time seeing this establishment. To say that i was impressed is understatement. From glass windows i could see (Plov = specifically cooked rice with lamb or beef and vegetables) and it looked so tempting! I stepped inside to see the variety of dishes and really appreciated the assortment of sweet and savory options. Everything looked very authentic and appealing, as a Russian I wanted to eat it all. I was very hungry and got that rice with lamb, when ordering it i was also offered a boiled egg, cooked garlic, some cherry tomatoes. Not only it was a perfect portion for 2 people, but also a great leftover food for another meal. The quality and flavor was outstanding. Every time i was closing my eyes, I saw Russian food fairs where i could get such a divine dish. Employees / owners were very kind and hospitable, they made me feel welcome and at home. I'm so glad this place opened in the neighborhood! I went in yesterday and ordered a pistachio and raspberry cake for my mother-in-law's birthday. They were able to make it the same day. The pistachio sponge is so moist, and they used a ton of pistachios in the cake. They also used fresh whipped cream and raspberries in between the layers. And it was only $20 for a 6 inch cake! The prices for everything are very reasonable, and everything is freshly made onsite with good quality ingredients. I bought a few chocolate croissants and they too are delicious. My son loves their cinnamon buns and ice cream. I'm eating a slice of the cake as I write this review. Yum. Highly recommended. read more

New spit that just opened on Brighton, coffee is delicious especially the iced coffee! They have a wide assortment of snack food like sandwiches, spinach pies, etc. It really is becoming my new fav snack spot on Brighton, so far every time I come they have something unique and delicious. Also I bought a bunch of macaroons for my students, and they all screamed and loved them, saying that these are the best ones they've tried. Finally, the place is very well lit and has a really nice atmosphere to it, you come in and you just wanna sit down and relax, now that the weather is nice I can't wait to get in there for a break after being on the beach (the cafe is a block from the beach!), sip some nice coffee, have a snack, and cool off before heading back. Also have to mention, the staff are super friendly and will make your orders exactly as asked, without any problems whatsoever! read more

This establishment is so disgraceful! They have the worst staff who are super rude and nasty to customers. I went in there tonight and wanted to order an iced tea when I got a very important phone call that I had to take. I was in the middle of ordering but had to stop and take the call and told the lady at the cashier I will come back to order and sat down at the bar to speak to a very important person. During my conversation, I had 2 people come up to me and rudely interrupt my conversation and embarrass me in front of the person I was speaking to. I told the lady who came up to me excuse me but I'm on the phone I will order after. This made it very awkward for me as i mentioned I was on the phone on an important business call! Then shortly after I had someone come up to me again, I think it must have been a manager and very rudely speak to me and asked me if I will be ordering something. At that point I said I'm on the phone and got up to leave the establishment. As I am walking out this disgusting rude man says to me "get out of here and get out fast" as if I'm some sort of bum on the street. I wasn't being loud, rowdy, rude or nasty to anyone and this rude man had the nerve to throw me out as I was already leaving! These people are rude and disgusting.
