I have to give this coffee shop a five star review. The customer service here is always great. The staff is so friendly and welcoming and you can tell they genuinely like their customers which can be hard to come by sometimes. It's a very large coffee shop. The coffee is SO GOOD. My favorite is the cafe mocha with almond milk. They have great breakfast options as well. The food is a little overpriced. I wish you could get a breakfast option and a coffee for $10- I think that would be reasonable. Once when I was in there the chef made us a bulgogi sandwich for free because it was going to be added to the menu soon. It was DELICIOUS. Delicious!! And open on Christmas. Win win. This place is a little expensive, but everything was so yummy it felt worth it to us. We got: - 2 black coffees; - 2 peppermint hot chocolates; - toast with butter & jam; - breakfast ramen with chicken; - a croissant sandwich; and - a bulgogi sandwich. It took forever for someone to take my order. No one was in line in front of us and we had a toddler (which usually incentivizes staff to get us started quickly before that gets messy). But I think they were getting a lot of online orders. After standing waiting for my order to be taken for about 10 minutes, I got to place my order and things started trickling out reasonably quickly after that. The coffee and hot chocolates were great. They have kids sized cocoas available and don't make them too hot, which is great. Everything was really delicious, and the breakfast ramen was so good that I felt inspired to make a copy at home the next day. Theirs was obviously better, but just saying it was so good I wanted it twice. Bathrooms are clean. Staff don't wear masks behind the counter, but they do put them on if they have to walk around where the customers are. If we find ourselves in the area again, we'll be back. read more

My quest to visit Kaffeine arose when I saw their adorable logo online while browsing for a cafe. I mean who can resist a small dog drinking coffee. The bulgogi toast was a perfect combination of Korean fusion. The toast was savory and filling. The accompanied side of spinach and dressing was very flavorful, yet still light. I tried both the matcha latte and brown sugar latte. The matcha flavor was not watered down and tasted more like a high grade matcha. The brown sugar latte did not really taste like what I expected. The brown sugar flavor was not apparent but it was still a good latte in general. This might have been due to the selection of oat milk as the milk is sweeter in nature. Overall, my first experience at Kaffeine was stellar. The aesthetic and setting of the establishment alone would make me want to come back and utilize it to study. read more

Walking down Michigan, an apparition appeared and told me this would be the place...the place to take me to elusive flavor town. I rubbed my eyes and said it can't be, but being fearful of disobeying the spirt world, I of course obliged and entered this fine establishment. Walking in I didn't know what I was expecting with a name like Kaffeine. An IV drip of coffee? No! My first few steps in, I was blasted with a sweet aroma of a delicious Korean fusion cafe. My eyes dilated, my nostrils flared, my mouth began watering - I could tell right away that this will be a staple in my flavor town line up. I looked over the menu, and while I'm not a stranger to Korean food, I quickly spotted the Bulgogi Sandwich. I was intrigued and mused, how would this work? I've normally had bulgogi as a stand alone BBQ dish. I decided to follow my instincts and ordered the sandwich and a Honeydew Milk Tea with tapioca pearls. The milk team came out first and after a few slurps, I was floored - Wow! Incredible! Fantastic! Now mind you, I've had my fair share of bubble tea in Asia, but I can easily say that this surpassed the best I've had to date - I want another one. A few sips later, my sandwich arrived. This thing looked like a Philly hoagie that traveled to Korea, met a lady, and brought the baby to Grand Rapids to display all its splendor (queue Lion King music). Perfectly marinaded beef lined the artisan bread it arrived on and was topped with a masterfully cooked egg that, once speared oozed its gooey goodness into the the sweet, savory, and spicy flavor concoction that laid before me. I took a bite and suddenly I found myself on cloud 9. It was blissful and was over too soon because I devoured it like a savage. Conclusion: everyone in Grand Rapids should eat here. It's incredible and I loved the owner - Sun is super nice and she is a master of her craft. Pros: delicious flavors, friendly staff, bubble tea. Cons: none. read more

Thought this place was a nice addition to a town and area that could use some quick, convienent but fresh food, where you can walk in and get a great coffee but more than a muffin. Tried it out today on a whim as we drove by and would definitely come back. The overall vibe is warm, lovely and both of those things are first and foremost which is what I liked most. They had good coffee with a smart selection like a stuck up coffee shop without actually being a stuck up coffee shop which is exactly my speed. Gotta love a place that does that and food - actual fill you up food (with non fill you up options as well - like muffins etc.) so it's not just a brunch food with coffee place either - they do both well, seem to care and have high quality items on both sides. Something that I find hard to find. The food came out quickly and was great as did the coffee. A great go to lunch spot or lazy weekend stop in. read more

God damn this place is good... No, not even "good"... fantastic. I tried Kaffeine for the first time last week & have now ordered it three times since then. I'm always at work, so I use doordash to deliver it, and it is still delicious when it arrives unlike some restaurants where the food is gross by the time it gets to you. I order the Bulgogi sandwich... the bread and the juices and the beef.... if you don't order this then you're insane. I have yet to be inside this restaurant but from the pictures it looks adorable. The only downside is the price, but frankly, it's beyond worth it. I've never had anything like this sandwich in the GR area. It's so unique and delicious. Great job, Kaffeine!!
