    Butter Chicken

I'd give 6 Stars if I could. The place is a mom and pop shop, and is fantastic. Dad (Taz) runs the front of house and Mom is the cook. I don't know her name but she is the star of the show. The food is absolutely fabulous. I ordered the special of the day, the Butter Chicken. I've never had butter chicken at a Turkish restaurant and it was absolutely delicious. It is not the same as butter chicken from an Indian restaurant, and in my opinion it's better. We also ordered some lamb strips. They were absolutely delicious also and came with a really delicious creamy sauce. This sauce doesn't have a name but I figured they should call it the Taz sauce. I don't know if it'll stick but it should. The place was perfectly clean and the service was really top notch. The two servers we had were both young high School aged or college-aged kids did a fantastic job. The owner, Taz, came out, welcomed us, and made us feel right at home. I highly, highly, highly recommend this place. BTW, Taz let me know that all of their daily specials are always gluten free. He mentioned this because I happen to have Celiac disease and he wanted to make sure that they could accommodate me.

We're in town for a family wedding and when it came time for dinner I knew looking through Yelp would help find a really good place to eat. I never expected to find such a wonderful authentic Turkish/Mediterranean restaurant in this lovely small town in Georgia. The inside was simply decorated and very clean. The employees were so friendly and the owner came over several times to talk, tell us about the homemade, healthy food they served and ask if we were enjoying our meals. We felt very welcomed and knew we made a great choice. Two of us had the Lamb curry special.... tender boneless chunks of lamb, rice and a small salad on the side. My husband and I had the Adana platter with lamb kebabs, soft pita bread, salad and white sauce. Everything was perfectly cooked and seasoned and hot and fresh. We were all too full for dessert but they offered homemade kunafe(?) , baklava and ice cream.

I very rarely give a five Star rating as I save those for places that really blow me away. This was one of them! Owner meets you and seats you, discusses everything with you if needed and says his wife is the sole cook and they do everything fresh and from scratch. I let him pick mine and my wife had the chicken and rice. She is very picky so I was a tad afraid she wouldn't like it but she ate it all as did I on my sampler platter. Then came the best baklava I have ever had with pistachio ice cream. There really is not anything else I can say, if I'm back in town, I'm back here!

This place was an absolute pleasure. The dining experience was A+. The restaurant was very clean, spacious and had a nice vibe. The staff were pleasant and the owner came by several times to check in with us. Our food was served promptly, well prepared and was extremely tasty. We got the potato balls as an appetizer and the adana special was our main course. Both were excellent. One of the best dining experiences I have had in the past decade. My family will be back whenever we are in town.

The service and food were absolutely wonderful! I highly recommend stopping by if you haven't already. If we lived nearby I would eat here at least one a week!

This restaurant…read moreis nearby within walking distance of where we were staying and we wanted to find something healthy to satisfy our appetite. Service was great from ordering to pickup. The restaurant is easily accessible and very welcoming. We started with an arugula salad topped with roasted beets and walnuts, followed by stuffed grape leaves, falafel, and muhammarah dip. We also received bread and a dipping sauce with the order, which was fresh, warm, aromatic, and delicious. The entire meal was flavorful and satisfying. Even though I'm an omnivore, It would be easy to be a happy vegan if meals were as fantastic as this. Looking forward to return visits when we return to the area throughout the year.

Spots I would rather recommend for a nice night out are Delbar, Rumi's, and Yalda. My friends and I tried the Muhammara Dip, the Feta Cheese Rolls (reminiscent of spanakopita but no spinach and in roll form), the Truva Dumplings, and the Iskender Kebab. The Iskender Kebab and the Muhammara were the best of the bunch, but overall I think I was expecting more punch from the spices and greater nuance in the flavors of each dish. The thing I honestly enjoyed most was the complimentary bread and sun-dried tomato dip, which has gotten a number of shoutouts of Yelp already. I would come back to this spot to get a handful of appetizers, eat that bread, and hang out for a few hours. It does seem like the restaurant needs more staffing. Everyone we saw was very kind, but it took a long time to get a server's attention whenever we needed something.

If you love authentic Mediterranean and Turkish flavors made with the freshest ingredients -- this one's a must-try. We kicked things off with handcrafted cocktails -- The Martini? Officially on my "every single visit" list. The Smoky Nights - a nice amalgamation of Mezcal and Black Label The Old Efendi Fashioned was perfectly balanced, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The Cold Mezze Board was a stunning collection of flavors -- every bite delivered. The spicy ezme easily stole the show for me. Sigara Börek came out hot and crisp -- the kind of appetizer you keep reaching for. For entrées, the Chicken Shish and Atlantic Salmon were cooked to perfection -- well-seasoned, juicy, and served with delicious accompaniments that tied everything together. Dessert was a sweet surprise -- The Kazandibi (homemade milk custard) was melt-in-your-mouth good without being overly sweet. And the Künefe? Perfectly portioned and every bit as indulgent as you'd hope. A refreshed vibe, authentic flavors, and 20 years of getting it right -- Efendi Mediterranean is ready for its next chapter.

The doner plate is a must-try: tender, hand-sliced lamb and beef served over fluffy rice with fresh purple cabbage and a dollop of tzatziki. The meat is seasoned beautifully and juicy -- one of the best kebab plates I've had in the area. The hummus starter is creamy, smooth, and flavorful -- perfect with warm pita. It's simple, fresh, and a great way to start the meal before diving into the heavier dishes. Service was friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere makes it great for everything from a casual lunch to a fun dinner night out. I'll definitely be back to try more items on the menu!
