    Gluten free and halal??? Awesome!
    Jacqueline F.

I wanted to like this more than I did. The food was good and I got the spicy sauce, but it was spice and not flavor. I was expecting the sauce to have something like a harissa flavor, a bold sharp flavor, however, it didn't have that. I have to say that the gluten-free pita/bread was the best I've ever tasted. The chicken was cooked well but the chunks were bigger than I expected. And this filled me up for sure, I just wish that I had a better flavor as it was doing so. The truck took a while to get the food together and that's not a problem. But after such a wait, the food was a disappointment. The fact that the best thing I had was the gluten free flat bread is not good. They need a sauce with flavor and heat. That would elevate the experience a great deal for me.

Excellent food, very filling, very fast service, and super convenient. Hoping they come back to my office again so we can try the other menu options.

Chicken kebab rice bowl with add-on of french fries.

I highly recommend this place, especially on Fridays and Sundays when they are at the Presidio tunnel tops park. I love their chicken kebab. It's tender and juicy. I highly recommend adding the fries. Add onto your rice bowls. And don't be scared spicy tzatziki is not that spicy

This review is for the mobile food truck for Kabob Trolley, as they do not have a brick and mortar restaurant, nor a regular fixed location for their food truck. Rather they serve up their Mediterranean and halal specialties throughout the SF bay area, including Alameda county. I've visited Kabob Trolley two years in a row at SF's annual Comedy Day event in Golden Gate Park, and was there just this past weekend.  The food here is pretty good. They stuff their gyros and gyrritos with beef/lamb, veggies, and all the fixings, so you can barely hold it together while you eat. Yes, I have to use a fork and knife while eating the gyro, to avoid spilling the ingredients all over. But it's a good problem to have, as there's plenty of toppings to fill you up, so much flavor, and everything tastes fresh, with a warm fluffy pita bun holding it together. The staff here is friendly, and the service is reliable and efficient overall. There's nothing that really stands out from other similar restaurants or food trucks (besides the enormous portions for the filling), but there's a lot to like about this place.

Date: 9/10/2022 Time: 2:00 PM 72° Overcast The weather has cooled down to a temperature that I am comfortable. The Kabob Trolley food truck was at the Lake Merritt BART's 50th anniversary celebration. There were at least four food trucks at this event. I wanted something quick to eat and the shortest line was this one. The three sliders at $13.00 (excluding tax) were what I ordered. Wow! The service was quick for them. In less than five minutes, my sliders were ready for consumption. They were filling, quite good and loaded with plenty of grilled chicken, lettuce, tomato, pickle and topped with a white sauce. Value of the sliders: good. Enough to feed two people with small appetite. The next time I see this food truck I will be ordering falafel and their rice bowl. Rating: 3.5 stars rounded up to 4.

    They do catering too.

Quick service food truck. They were in Alameda's Off the Grid today (Saturday), so I ordered their 3 sliders with chicken kabob as my choice of protein ($13). You can also get falafel or gyro meat inside, but you can't combine or do a mix and match for the 3 sliders. I was told only 1 choice of protein for that order. The sliders came with melted cheese, iceberg lettuce, onion, and tomato, on egg buns. The chicken kabob was not dry and there were about 2 kabob pieces in each of the 3 sliders. I'd be curious to try their other dishes the next time I run into them, as prices are reasonable.

    Hella fries with falafel

I saw them in a group of food trucks on the Presidio Tunnel Tops, so I decided to order the hella fries with falafel, regular tzatziki sauce. They have other options such as in a wrap or with rice, although it looks like from the menu, the stuff inside would still be pretty much the same. The fries themselves are pretty good, seasoned and crispy. The falafels were also nice, crispy on the outside and they gave me 4 of them total, which mostly were stuck together. The salad part, containing lettuce, tomato, and cabbage, was the plainest and least interesting to me. There were only a few pieces of fried green beans and I thought the onions could've been grilled more. Next time I would probably opt for hummus instead of tzatziki sauce since I find the tzatziki doesn't add much in flavor (though they have a spicy version available as well). I did think the quantity was alright, taking into account high prices for food truck food.

Went to the Summer Bash at SF Moma and Kabob Trolley was one of the off the grid food trucks. We had the hella fries and their fresh juice drink. They take orders, make orders, give out orders, and then take more orders. The hella fries had a choice of protein. They ran out of chicken, not that I would have ordered the chicken. The seasoned meat was lamb & beef, over skinny French fries, with grilled onions, chopped lettuce, tomato, peppers, & cucumbers with sauce. Great appetizer or snack. Great to try out. It's good but I would probably look for other options. Juice was original and had lots of flavors. I would have preferred something more thirst quenching and colder.

These Gyros are fire!! If you have not been adventurous or haven't had decent Afghan food, trust me when I say you need to try this place! The Pita bread is so soft, the meat is cooked perfectly that it melts in your mouth. The spicy sauce is a must try! My kids love it and they are starting to eat spicy. It's all put together deliciously. Super friendly staff and so humble. He remembered us from a month ago and thanked us for coming back! Please support local vendors!

I had the beef and lamb gyro wrap with spicy tatziki and it was amazing. They did not skimp on the meat, veg, or sauce. The spicy tatziki had a nice kick but wasn't too spicy. Just the perfect flavor combo!

Sliders: i got 1 of each

Chicken kabob is so flavorful - love their healthier food options. Their Falafels are to die for, haven't had a falafel that can beat theirs. Cant go wrong with ordering chicken over rice or their sliders. Or better yet get a plate & a slider ;-) Go spicy tzatziki

    Lamb Gyro Pita

I ordered the beef/lamb gyro wrap and it was absolutely delicious. The tender meat, fresh vegetables, and flavorful sauce created a mouthwatering combination. The service was friendly and efficient. Highly recommended!

    Beef/Lamb Gyro
    Adam B.

The gyro is pretty mediocre but the falafel is awesome. Hence, by averaging, this place gets a middling 3-star. Also, I don't understand why it's call the Kaböb Trölley when it doesn't serve any kabobs (just gyro). Beef/Lamb Gyro: One of the biggest flaws of gyros on the West Coast seems to be that the meat is finished on a griddle instead of on the spit. This makes the meat greasier since heating it up releases fat; on the spit that fat just falls off but on the griddle gets all over the meat. Additionally, gyro meat seared on the spit has one side really crispy and one side softer; that delicate texture contrast doesn't happen when cooked from the griddle. Besides the meat not having the proper on-the-spit searing, the fillings just didn't work. Pickled peppers and raw string beans were just weird and didn't pair well. Falafels: These were actually amazing. Lots of sesame seeds so the exterior had a pleasant toasted sesame taste. The texture was on point. Perfectly crispy outer shell and soft inside. And the mouthfeel wasn't too smooth nor too grainy.

The chicken kabob had herby, smoky seasoning with no real heat, and the chicken was actually tender instead of the dry rubber you usually get. The rice leans sweeter than you'd expect and it works. Bread comes with the plate, puffy and soft, not pita, not naan, it is it's own category. Ask for the mint sauce on the side, it adds freshness and a little kick to the chicken and rice. Staff was friendly and offered good suggestion to the menu. Price was reasonable.

Indeed it was one of the best Middle Eastern food I've had in the bay area. Whoever's in the kitchen knows how to make kebab right. Kudos to them! My salmon kebab was scrumptious. The charcoal-grilled exterior and moist interior proved it was done right. The only complaint was plate didn't come with salad. Service however was problematic. They never checked on us. It was not respectful enough to women which reflected their gender-inequality $@#tty culture. The male staff served water to me the last while my son and I were sitting next to each other waiting for our guests. This staff served water to him first, then poured to the rest of the empty glasses in counter-clockwise until he got to me. You always serve ladies first. I unusually didn't say "thank you." for him to catch my displeasure and couldn't help have "misogynist-jack@#$" loom over my head. He probably sensed my irritating vibe, so in the next round of encounter, he had me order the food first, intentionally. Remember my boy, be a real man, chivalry is not dead, ladies first. I value my worth more than your food. Won't return.

They checked on us frequently to ensure we were comfortable and feeling good about dining here. Potato pancake appetizer was mind blowing. Mango ice cream is chef's kiss! We had borani kaddu - butternut squash with yogurt and garlic sauce. This was a good alternative to the common borani banjan. the texture was perfect, not overly cooked, went well with the warm bread. perfect for vegetarians. Our vegetarian companion had borani banjan - smoked, grilled eggplants in the tomato yogurt sauce similar to the appetizer we had. But served with rice and salad and green chick pea side provided enough serving. it was delicious - they have an option to make it vegan as well. Now quabili palaw was the star! massive size of lamb shank, well seasoned, well cooked, perfectly seasoned. The rice was fantastic with enough sweet carrots and raisins. Will be back just for this! Shami kabob came with two kababs (picture only one as our little one already sneaked one!). Kababs were juicy, perfectly spiced, with enough rice and salad. Between quabili palaw and shami kabob was enough for two adults and hungry child... Khoshmazeh!
