Good wraps! We tried a lamb and beef gyro wrap and a chicken shawarma wrap. Both wraps are good; however they're small for the prize ($10.99 per wrap). Each wrap is filled well with meat. The meat is a well seasoned. Lamb and beef gyro is chopped, not shaved in a slice like what we're used to, but it's all good. Chicken shawarma is well seared, nicely charred with good spices. Pita wraps are warm and slightly thick and doughy. Each wrap has lettuce and carrots and their signature sauces. The carrots add a nice crunch to the wrap. Tzatziki sauce is creamy and very fragrant with fresh mint flavor. It also has a subtle heat to it. They also have their spicy sauce which is SPICY. Ask for the sauce to be on the side to be safe, you can pour them in and control the heat level to your preference.

If you're headed to ACL weekend 2 and need a bite to eat stop by at Kababeque! They have 3 food truck locations around austin as well. Meat was super juicy, robust flavor, tzatziki sauce was super creamy. This was my favorite thing that I ate at ACL, very filling and definitely hit the spot! Pictured: Lamb and Beef Gyro

The food was not that great here. Meat was dry and so was the guy in the truck. I thought since the name was cleaver and kebabs are typically grilled, this place would be awesome. Not the case. Probably some of the most average food I had in the trip. Probably better off getting a gyro from the convenience store. Didn't show the food because I threw it out. Happy Hunting Yelpers!

Apparently, there were a lot of people who knew about it (because cars and people kept coming while we were waiting for our order and afterwards while we were eating in our car (it was too cold to eat outside that day). They have a few picnic tables and a stand under a cover next to the truck. The service was fast and friendly. Their portion size was just right for the price. Their tacos though were delicious and we also loved the green sauce which was creamy with some (or shall I say a lot of)kick! We got their egg, bacon, and cheese breakfast tacos (not bad), pastor (tender meat and so good), beef fajita (delicious), and last but not least chicharrones. The chicharrones taco is my jam. They used the thick cut with some fat which was legit, I squeezed some provided lime, and the green sauce; I was a happy camper! Oh and it's a plus for me when I can choose the types of tortilla (corn or flour) for each taco. All in all, you're missing out if you haven't checked them out yet. We would go for their novelty tacos and other items instead of breakfast tacos next time and call to place a to-go order ahead of time.

My teenager introduced me to the place as he and his friends like it enough to often spend their own hard earned money there which says a lot. Although they were out of the meat patties he likes, he was pleased with the jerk chicken he ordered instead and I enjoyed their jerk pork. I feel like the rice could have benefitted from a bit more seasoning but I loved the plantains. For beverages we each decided to try one of their specialty beverages, Soursop and Sorrel. Realizing we were rookies when we ordered them, they were kind enough to offer us a taste of them just to be sure we liked them before paying for them which I appreciated. My teenager chose the sweet version of the Soursop while I had the Sorrel which reminded me of kambucha. This food truck is one of the most reliably open food trucks in this area. Unlike some food truck areas, this area has been developed as a nice area to not just pick up food but to stay and eat. Located in a parking lot between an apartment complex and a crossfit business, this is one of 5 or 6 food trucks in a strip with another group of 5 or 6 more food trucks across the parking lot. They have recently improved this area with lots of tables, astroturf in some areas, and both natural shade and shade structures.

You literally can miss it as I did when I initially tried to find this food truck. It is located near Ruku mechanic shop and shaved ice food truck after your drive down a relatively long path. Pacific Flame Island Grill has been touted as the lead for Austin's most authentic Pacific Island BBQ. According to Tammy, the owner, this family-owned truck serves authent ic pacific island food from Maui, Guam, Philippines, and Okinawa. It was nice talking to Tammy as she was super engaging. She draws you in with the Pacific Island history, cooking techniques and family traditions. I learned Tammy's family has a family crest which is tattooed on family members only. You have to obtain permission to get the tattoo and only one woman creates the tattoo. She indicated that their family is mainly from an area near Hana affectionately called the divorce road to Hana. My hubby and I drove up the road to Hana, which was treacherous...many one lane areas where only one car can pass and many blind curves. While the hubs and I are still married, next time we will take a helicopter to the waterfalls in Hana. Smile. I ordered the Teriyaki & Shoyu Chicken bowl. The chicken was tender with a deep, smoky char that Pacific Flame Island gets from their black iron grill. The accompanying rice was flavorful and enjoyable to eat.
