The food tastes like authentic Filipino dishes prepared in the Philippines. Their Menudo, Sisig, Karekare, and Bicol Express are always a hit when I have parties. My non-Filipino friends love the Pork Lumpia or Eggrolls so much that they always request for it. Aside from these traditional Filipino dishes, they also sell desserts like ginataang bilo-bilo, biko, puto,suman, majablanca,kutsinta, and many more. The staff are always so warm and serve the food with a smile. I always call and pay in advance for big orders, and I have never been disappointed. The owners, Ding and Del have great customer service skills. Sometimes, Del takes my order over the phone, and she helps me estimate the right amount of food to serve to my guests, so I don't have lots of leftovers. Amuel and Amy are great cooks, too. The family's favorite is Amuel's Menudo and Bicol Express, we can eat it for a week!!! The place is in a good location, around a 3-minute drive to Spring Valley Shopping Center. Disappointing experience at Kababayan Bakery. The staff seemed grouchy, avoided eye contact, and looked like they didn't want to be there. There's no system for ordering, so people can easily cut in line, which makes the process frustrating. You stand there in line waiting to be helped and no one bothers to ask you if you'd like to order. The location in Paradise valley and has very limited parking. They do have cooked food ready to order, but with the poor service, I'd rather drive to National City or support Max's Restaurant instead. read more

This is a wild concept. Here's how it works: Enter through the bakery. The bakery is connected to the Philippine food, and then again connected to Snoice (a separate Yelp page). However, these 3 businesses flow together and are obviously connected. My goal going to the bakery was to see if they had croissants. I just happened to spot some Pan de Sal rolls and had to have them! Yummy! They were very good and moist. They do have croissant but were low that day and therefore, didn't have enough rolls for me. They make dinner meals, too. They are known for their lumpia I gather, as this business advertises 'lumpia' in the windows. There is a full menu of most traditional Philippine meat/dinner/side dishes. I am not well versed in the food here, because I just came in, thinking it was only a bakery. I can vouch for their rolls. They package your food in a to go container and any meats or soap in styrofoam cup like containers and Saran Wrap to prevent spills. They give you a good amount of food. Tastes homemade. Hazard to your Health - We came here mainly for their lumpia after it was recommended by a friend and it was awful. The pork tasted like fish and sardines. I dont know if they used the same pot when they cooked it or what but every bite tasted like fish, not crispy at all. - Every bite of the chicken adobo had small shards of chicken bone. I had to carefully chew and pull out pieces of bone with every bite. The flavor was good though. - There is also a full fried bird on the glass window not being heated. We ordered 150 shanghai (skinny) lumpia for our teenager's bday parade. They were DELICIOUS! We called about 2 days ahead to order and they had them hot and ready for pickup! It was nice that they also called 2 hours before the pickup time tp confirm the order. The pickup was a 7 min wait in line to get in but I was happy that they were social distancing for COVID-19. It made me feel like I chose the right place for my order. Many customers and they moved the line quickly loved that! They also have almost EVERY Filipino Dessert and Pastry here! See my pictures. I mostly go here just for the pancit... with the occasional lumpia order. It's more like a to-go/deli lunch counter than a restaurant. Service is usually quick, unless you're ordering lumpia, which they make when you order. They're pretty friendly but they're definitely not trying to get to know you like that. read more

I have always had a good experience at Kababayan. They have the friendliest service and the food is great. They have a variety of hot food and baked goods. I usually call ahead to order a big order and it's always on time. The parking lot is easy to navigate and there is never any trouble parking. Really great pancit using the thick egg noodles with plenty of meat and vegetables. Tastes very much like my Folks' pancit and the way they used to make it! I have to make myself stop eating it. So I know it's good. The adobo is super tasty, as well. The flavor is just right and the meat is tender. Perfect with their white rice. The only thing I'd say about that is maybe there is a little more bones in it than I would like. (They are fun to suck, tho.) The lumpia is pretty good. Definitely was craving some authentic Filipino food, so we stopped in to a spot that always has a parking lot full of cars. Well upon arrival there is a sign that says 3 people only inside, remember to social distance. The food was displayed in the hot pans and the woman behind the counter greeted us with a smile..I joked with her because I was lookong for Pork Adobo, so I told her to bring me her dinner she cooked last night. She just laughed . We ordered Chicken Adobo, Sisig, Lumpia, and Pandosol. The building smelled sooooooo good. There was bread on the shelves, she gave us fresh baked pandosol from the back. I even got the Quickmelt cheese. The food TASTES AMAZING!! Now I know why the parking lot is always packed. The adobo OMG!!! Great food- good people! HONEST PINOYS! We came to buy sisig. We ordered 2 large cups. The server said "we don't have enough for 2 large, just one large and one small". My husband and I looked at each other - the situation is so familiar @Porky's Lechon! We waited in suspense... To our amazement- it was one large and small! No overcharging! Like others have said customer service is NOT that great . The lumpia is good but they make you purchase a min of 30 of them. I see in another post it was 25. We also got Chicken Adobo & it was a NO for us they pack it in little containers one for the rice & one for the chicken . I use to chicken adobo having juice with it nope DRY. Not sure if I would come back here maybe for the lumpia & that is a very strong maybe. I also just read how many violations they have on cleanliness so now I'm like hmmm I dont know ...
