Consistently good, fresh ingredients from a family owned Lebanese restaurant. Their tabouli salad is fresh and savory. They do a good job with their mahi mahi and salmon, placed on a bed of rice and grilled veggies. I'm not a fan of their grape leaves but that might just be a personal preference. Offered a sample of falafel as I waited for my meal which was a nice touch. No Gyros here but its not a Greek place anyway...similar but different. I had Kabob G for the first time yesterday...I woke up craving it again so we had it for lunch today as well. The kabob combo plate was great. It had 1 Chicken, which was amazing, and the Kafka and beef were also very good. The falafel plate was the highlight. Perfect texture and taste. The falafel sandwich today was also fantastic...we'll be back often. The place is nice and clean. Good atmosphere with very friendly guys who are happy to explain the food and/or preparation. There are s lot of good middle eastern options in/around Peoria. Kabab G is my favorite - not to dismiss the fine quality available elsewhere, but more to the point that Kabab G is a standout! Best place I have ever eaten! Food is authentic (I'm Lebanese) and very tasty. I would recommend the shawarma plate. Ask for tabouli instead of salad if you want a truly unique experience. Mohammed, the manager, is a very nice man! I would also recommend the kubassi (Gulf dish) it has a great kick to it and isn't too spicy. This little gem tucked away over next to the Great Plains Ortho offices was a hit for me! Very clean and well decorated with a tv & remotes out on the table for the customers to change the channel. Free refills on soda! Tried the kabob trio of kufta, beef and veggies, came with rice, salad and hummus. The beef chunks were very tender and juicy and the veggies were sooooo delicious. Grilled with some kind of spices, they were my favorite. The kufta was just okay. The hummus is lemony and very creamy, served with olive oil pretty heavy on top- would ask for that to be left off next time. The pita bread is very thin which is nice so you can fill up on the good stuff and not bread! The rice was very plain, just regular white rice but the salad was so fresh and zingy, thanks to a lemony/olive oil vinigrette! They have some other unique items on the menu that I haven't seen before at Khoury's or any other Lebanese places. The cook gave us samples of a really yummy potato kibbe that is not on the menu but I hope it is soon! The prices seem very reasonable and you can get small and large containers of the hummus and baba ganoush for like $3 or $5 which is cheaper than the pre-made containers at the grocery store. Also, the baklava was TO DIE FOR! So buttery and syrupy-I nibbled it to make it last as long as I could! This would be the perfect unique dessert to take to a dinner party! read more

I had an afternoon to myself and wanted a little lunch before I began the grocery shopping so I played a little Yelp Roulette and struck Kabab G. I may never hit the lotto because I use up all my good luck finding outstanding places to eat. :) It's an off time on a Sat so the place is empty. It is also spotlessly clean and cozy feeling. A nice step up from a fast food place, but still fast counter service. I asked what was good and the owner said "it all is" and after eating my lunch, I believe it! He recommended their gyro. Now this gyro is to what most think of as a gyro what a gastro pub burger is to a hamburger. This is thinly sliced deliciously marinated beef and/or chicken, served on a bed of rice with onions and parsley, sauce on the side and the most lovely little warm packets of pita. The plate comes with hummus (outstanding) and a simply side salad dressed with oil and vinegar dressing. That salad really rounded out the plate. This plate was huge and a steal at $12. I ate most of it and I was full at the halfway point!! Lol. This could easily be split among two so you could order other tasty things. He also gave me falafel to try. Lightly crispy outside, lovely and moist inside and very flavorful. But hands down, the meat took the trophy home. This was so tender and richly flavored that I found myself almost powerless to stop eating it. I really wanted to try dessert but if I eat one more bite, I'll explode. The baklava looks wonderful. I may have to eat it first next time just to make sure I taste it. Because I fully intend to work my way through this menu. This place is tucked back in the little mall next to Great Plains Ortho, just off Pioneer. Google Maps led me right here. Whatever you're eating right now, put it down and run here. Loved Kabab G! Went here today for the first time with a fellow nursing student. He got the shwarma sandwich and loved it. It looked delish! I got the falafel sandwich. The falafel was made fresh in front of us and it was soooo good! We also split a small order of the hummus and that was yummy garlicky goodness...also it was a good size tub so I still have a bunch leftover. My only gripe was that I wish they gave more pita with the hummus but thats no big deal. Great place. Friendly, fast service! We will be back without a doubt! read more

Good food. Big portions. Friendly service. I had the kafta kabob plate. The seasoning was excellent. I couldn't believe how much hummus was on my plate. Since it was our first visit, they brought out an order of falafel. Wow. Crunchy on the outside, soft on the inside. Great texture. The restaurant owner is so kind and after only 2 visits, he remembered what I typically order: a falafel sandwich. And that sandwich is always so good. At my last visit, I asked for hummus on the side at the last minute. My order had already been processed, so I said "no problem" and just figured I'd get hummus next time. When I was given my order, I was told they added hummus, at no extra charge. I was so grateful, and of course, the hummus was delicious. We returned for another tremendous meal. Very big lamb chop special. Added an extra chop incase, it was more than two could finish. Very delicious, very tender. Also ordered the fattah with beef. The only problem with this dish is that it is too big and it tastes so good that I eat too much. They now serve Turkish coffee with a little cardamom. This is the best Mediterranean food that we have found in Peoria. We went to get some takeout on a Monday evening. The place was not crowded. The gentleman who took our order was amazingly nice. He helped explain some of the unfamiliar items and had no problem with my request for substituting more hummus for the rice. Oh the hummus. So delicious. Wanted to lick it off my plate (and I may have...). Seriously, get the hummus. The portion size was nice as well. We both got platters, which include the meat, rice, salad and hummus. I had the beef kabobs and my fiance had the mixed beef and chicken shawarma. We both agreed that we like my beef kabobs better. It was very tender, cooked almost perfectly (just slightly overdone but I prefer medium-rare), and had a nice interesting spice to it. Both meals were quite delicious. We are very happy to have stumbled upon this hidden place. It's in the middle of a shopping plaza, so it's probably easy to miss. I'm sure they do a great lunch business. read more

Found this place while I was biking the Rock Island trail and decided to try it out. Couldn't have made a better decision. I got the cheese kabobs and it was just wonderful. The hummus stood out terrifically. The spices they use on their dishes harmonize very well. The best part was that they brought out some complimentary falafel and it was the best I've ever had in Peoria by far. The people were very nice and made it a nice experience. My wife and I really really enjoyed this place. The food was fresh. I don't know enough about Lebanese/Mediterranean cuisine to say how "authentic" it was but that hardly matters--this is the best food of this type that I've had in the Peoria area. She had a cheese kabab and some falafel and they were excellent. I had the cabbage rolls and they were amazing. This is a family restaurant and the whole place feels like it is run with love and care. The only thing I would recommend is they should open another location and have it be more formal--the food is worthy of a nicer setting. It's not just thrown together fast food. What I mean is they should have a fast food branch and then a dressier branch. Anyway, we'll be going back, there's more things to try! read more

Found this place on Yelp! and decided to try it since it was close by to where we were and has great reviews. The food taste and quality is superb. My wife, 2 year old, and I ordered the plate Shawarma, sandwich Sharwarma, and the beef Kabab playe and I tell you we ate them all. We also had some Falafels courtesy of the restaurant and they were delicious. The Humus was good too (I normally don't like it but I finished the sercing of it) I love Mediterranean food and this place is now on my list of favs when we visit Peoria. read more
