Walked by this place as it had a really nice ambience, we figured sushi by the coast would be great! Overall would say this experience was a bit of a disappointment. Here's the rundown of the food:
- Miso soup: I actually quite liked the miso soup, it was a touch on the salty side but I didn't mind that too much. However it was very overpriced for what it was.
- Salmon roll: was decent quality fish, nothing special, but cut of salmon was very small
- Spicy tuna roll: was also decent, would've been better with one whole piece of fish instead of minced fish
- Rainbow roll: this one was mediocre. The tempura shrimp inside was fine, however the cuts of fish on top were so thin you could barely taste them, and the avocado was underripe (shouldn't serve that avocado to be honest)
Overall would say this is an extremely simplistic sushi place, with hardly any selection of fish (only shrimp, tuna, salmon) and was quite overpriced for what it was. The fish was pretty fresh which was their one saving grace, however it was overall very average sushi, small portions, and quite high prices. I think this place has potential, but it's more of a spot for the vibes rather than the food - I would probably give it a skip. It's a sign of a disappointing dinner when you end up at McDonalds afterwards. read more
