We also love supporting small businesses when we can, so this felt like the perfect stop. Right when we walked in, we noticed how clean, organized, and well-stocked the shop was. There's a ton to choose from, which could feel overwhelming, but the two women working behind the register immediately stepped in and made the whole experience easy and actually really fun. They took the time to understand what we were looking for -- something beginner-friendly that the girls could enjoy without it being too advanced. One of the boards the girls were drawn to was actually more high-performance, and instead of just selling it to us, they guided us to a better option. Honestly, they saved us money and probably saved us from a frustrating first experience. They walked us through how to properly size the boards, explained what to look for, and even set everything up at checkout -- attaching the leash and showing the girls how to use it. They also gave a few quick tips that made us feel way more confident heading to the beach. That kind of service is rare. We also picked up a rash guard for my husband (great quality, he loves it) and a cute little shell bracelet that was perfect for the beach vibe. Is it the absolute cheapest place you'll find a bodyboard? Probably not. But the quality, the guidance, and the customer service more than make up for it. You're not just buying a product here -- you're getting help from people who genuinely care that you have a great experience. We'll definitely be back next time we're in Del Mar.

This can was also opened and about 3/4 empty. SurfRide in Solana Beach doesn't have this issue. The cans are always sealed and 100% full. Do better guys.

He did half day surf camp for three days. 9-12. I took the days off work to be with him and watch. They provide wetsuits, so helpful. The Surf teachers were all so attentive and I felt safe having him there. It was 4 teachers for 11 kids. I loved hearing the teachers surf lingo. And just hanging out for the mornings with the kids and surf friends. Teachers did a morning stretch and then got them out on the water. My son was catching waves right away. Mid-day they had snack break and made sure to reapply sunscreen. Last day they had a pizza party at the surf shack for all the girls and boys. It's a short walk to La Jolla Shores shops, bars, and restaurants. The Park is one of my favorite places for enjoying the waterfront in San Diego. The are public restrooms at the north end of the park, and more just south of Kellogg Park. The Park tends to be crowded on weekends and most days in the summer. Plan your visit for early in the day or later in the afternoon.

They have a lot of variety which makes it such a great surf shop to check out. It's really easy to find parking on the side of the building in their lot and/or street parking. Their customer service is great as well as they always greet us, ask us if we need any help, and also help when we do have questions. Everyone is really kind and helpful honestly. There is some free parking, including 2 and 3 hour, but if it is all full there are some paid parking garages down the road. There are some stairs to get you down part way, with a little jump at the end. The beach is not that wide, and you have to watch the tides and for rogue waves, or your stuff will get taken out to sea by the ocean.

As you journey through the beach, you may even see some sea lions too! Wipeout Beach is the sandy beach south of the Children's Pool Beach in La Jolla. During the winter, the sand is rugged from the storms. At low tide, there is more sand to enjoy the tide pools and caves in the rocks! Free parking spots are available along Coast Blvd. We saw several people visiting and painting pictures! It was such a wonderful experience! There are several stairways you can climb down to go to the beach. Watching the waves crash into the beach was so beautiful. The smell of the ocean was wonderful!
