Del Cerro Tennis Club and Pickleball Hub - Pickle back courts on the right

Del Cerro Tennis Club and Pickleball Hub

My first time playing Pickleball here and I don't think I'll be coming back due to the unwelcoming…read morenature of the staff and excessive rules. Not even 30 seconds to a minute walking onto the court and my group was already being snapped at by an elderly woman on all the policies at Del Cerri Tennis Club and Pickleball Hub. The many rules include placing your bags on very specific designated spots - certain courts don't have a bench, certain courts share a small bleachers area, you can't drink water on the court. Etc etc. It's totally fine to have standards and rules but it's not fine to be rudely condescending literally SECONDS into showing up our FIRST time. All of this condescending and uppity attitude and they charge $20/hr for a court! I much prefer Barnes for their ample parking, better weather, and welcoming attitude.

I heard about Del Cerro pickleball from some other people I had played with and decided to check it…read moreout. Note that you have to sign up for open play online and it appears to fill up quickly. Their Open play is convenient for people with day jobs since it started at 6:30pm. It is relatively easy to find but the parking lot was smaller than I expected (although there were open spots when I arrived). As i was new, the check-in person was very nice and explained the format, where to find the bathrooms, etc which I especially appreciated. I was pleasantly surprised at the number of courts, ranging from beginner to intermediate (majority were there) to advanced. They're in a long corridor with courts on both sides and have decent seating areas and good lighting. However I do wish the bathrooms were closer. Overall I had a good time and was able to play quite a few games with friendly people.

I've been here on several different occasions…read more I came here about 5 years ago to take my first swimming lesson over be summer. The price of the classes was reasonable & the instructor was great! Recently, I brought my 7 month old son for a group swim class (parent and child). The cost, again, reasonable ($45 for the week with 5 half hour classes included). The instructor was amazing! Happy and interactive. We did songs and free one playing with toys as well as skills such as getting in and out of the pool ("jumping in" and holding the side of pool and gettin out). The facilities themselves are amazing--Olympic sized pool, hot tub, small pool for kids where you can wade in to get them acclimated, etc. I dock a star because I still am upset about he cost of parking here. It's too much! $3 if you pay at machine and if you pay on app $3.35. Sure, you can buy a permit or drive around aimlessly trying to find a street spot, but it's kinda crazy (especially during college session!) But overall, the place is great and I will be back!

No street parking in all neighborhood on weekdays, permit required unless you go on weekends (no permit required on Saturdays and Sundays). I like that they have a tiny little spin drier for swimsuits in locker room, also SiriusXM music playing in all facility and vending machines available at the pool... I'd easily put 5 stars if they offer free parking for their visitors. The pay parking is actually going to limit my visits to them to weekends.
