This place is a scam. My group went on a Thursday afternoon and it wasn't busy at all. First, the registration process in the beginning takes so long and the employees explain that you have to "sign up for an annual membership" with a minimum of 2 races for about $50, you can't just race once. Second, you end up waiting an hour + to drive and once you finish your first race, you're made to wait for your second race...our group ended up waiting over 2 hours just for our 2nd race that we paid for because they took "reserved groups" over us. No one ever mentioned that we would be waiting over 3 hours to drive 2 races because of the other reservations, they had us sitting there looking dumb until we finally decided to leave because we had to make dinner reservations elsewhere. When we asked for a refund for our 2nd race, the employees claimed we couldn't get a refund for the 2nd race we never did because we did the 1st race??? Yet they had us waiting there 3+ hours and still never got to our 2nd race! So they made an extra free $130+ on us! Very unprofessional and misleading, skip this place if you don't want to get scammed! read more

Tried to make a reservation as a returning customer with one less in our party this year after 3 days of trying to get ahold of someone with corporate e-sales. We were told no exceptions with reservations since we didn't meet the required party size and basically sorry- no options were given or help - we feel very in important to this business and they must make enough without annual customers or caring about birthday parties- we were willing to pay the difference for lack of members - so money wasn't an issue. Driving over 1 hour to the faculty with a group of kids to wait for who knows how long ( each set of 3 races @90 minutes) matters. read more

My husband and son love this place. Yes it is pricey but it's a unique place to go that gives you an adrenaline rush. The races go too quickly, according to my son. But the thrill was there every race he did. His time kept improving and he got the hang of it right away. I believe the maximum speed of the cars is 45, but indoors on a tight track, that's a rush! Very unprofessional staff. Failed to let my party know that there were 3 large reservations ahead of us & had to wait around 3 hours. Raced the first time but took a while to register... ended up waiting 2+ hours just to do the second race. We were told 2 groups were ahead which ended up being 4 groups then 6. Went in today 02/22/20 and was told it would be a 2 hour wait. After about a 3 hour wait and still not being called to our races we decided to go up and ask how much longer, and we were told it would be another 2 hours! After asking why we were told it was because "they had larger parties show up and they get priority" when we were told it was first come first serve. Only good part was the manager and how understanding he was and gave me my money back. Thanks to him. But I wouldn't recommend this place unless you want to wait 6 hours for a race. read more

Literally the only good thing I've experienced here was the AC and the bald guy at the food stand. We waited almost 2 hours for our first race- mind you we paid $105 for TWO people to sit there for hours before even one race. The food- pretty good. The bald guy- awesome but I asked for a manger 3 times and no one ever actually came and talked to us. We finally raced- back to back races. Just saying- tiring. The two tall dudes didn't have the best attitude but weren't rude. Those were the two I asked for mangers. I'm just saying we got there around 7 and now leaving at almost 11. When we got there, there was almost 30 people or so and we were the LAST people in there. Like they were literally folding up chairs and closing doors on our last race. Went for my sons birthday on a Friday afternoon. Parking might be a little confusing for some people but follow the signs and you will be just fine. There were only a few people in line so the wait was really short, 5 minutes at the most. Racing was awesome! For electric go-karts, these things fly! Track is fun, well lit and fast. The facilities are nice. Ample places to sit and a lounge area with couches. There is a little snack bar. Bathroom floors were kind of disgusting. It's a bit expensive but that seems to be the norm for this kind of activity in the area. We paid roughly $140 for three people and two races. That included a $6 membership for each racer but you do get a free race for your birthday month which we were able to use that day. Great for kids and adults alike. All the employees were kind, attentive and great to deal with. My son lost his hat while we were there and the employee helping me really did do a thorough job looking for it. If you like formula 1 racing go kart style this will be right up your alley. While I will be the first to admit this is more on the pricey side ($22.00 for one race or $40.00 for two races) of entertainment it's definitely a blast. I would definitely suggest paying for the two races as after you finish your first race with your adrenaline pumping you'll be eager to get back in the car. Racers will be given a hood (which will be allowed to keep) and allowed the chance to pick out a racing helmet best suitable for your head. After completing your race, be sure to go pick up your times and how you faired in your race not only among your fellow drivers but also overall against the all-time records. Horrible ! Tried twice to race once on the weekend and second time on a week day. Both times we had to wait . Second time was outrageous! I called and was told they had a black out event but if we arrived before 1:30 pm we could race...well we arrived before and were told they were closed until 4! We explained the phone conversation only to be told we were liars and they just opened. Their website is misleading , as it says walk ins are welcome . They are not! Came here with 10 very excited kids to do a team building experience before their hockey game. When it was time (after waiting over and hour and a half to sign up register and pay) they split our group in half so they didn't all get to race together which was the whole point!! We complained and asked they race together and they said they'd have to wait two more hours!! How stupid is this especially noting we asked to race together when we came in to register. It a great place to go if you like to race karts but don't want to spend an absurd amount of money to buy your own kart or if you don't go very often. This location can get very busy if it is a weekend or a holiday week waited around 45 mins- 1 hour for the first race when I went but after that it was in fairly quick succession from each other. Maybe it's just the kid in me, but this place is fun. Have made this place into a date spot for me. Fun and exciting with a little nerdiness. The karts are surprisingly fast. Im a bigger dude and even with me, they still hauled some butt down the track. A little on the pricey side when compared to the time you actually spend racing but still worth it. Good cart racing for beginners. I brought 2 boys, ages 10 & 11. We arrived shortly after opening at 11am on a Friday. The boys raced on the smaller junior carts by themselves on the track. Came here this afternoon with my family because we had a gift certificate from a few years ago. At 4:30 pm we were told that he could get us in at 7:30pm so we decided to bite the bullet and I went back with my sisters tonight. While checking in, no one welcomed us and as first timers it was very confusing to understand where to go. We had to ask a few people where to go but ended up in the right spot. After everyone got into their carts and a 15 second lesson on flags the entire session had to switch carts. After getting on the track is where the real problems started. Multiple carts had issues and we had to keep stopping which resulted in max 2 laps without a few minutes of a cart switch out or getting fixed. At one point a women's cart stopped in the middle of the track and my 14 y/o sister tried to stop but inevitably ran right into her. After the most stop and go race I have ever witnessed we found out that the woman placed a formal complaint that my sister ran into her "on purpose". After the session ended, the following party had cancelled so we were able to get right back in the carts and were on our second race. That race went a little smoother but near the 8th lap my other sister was turning and the kid behind her was going so fast that he ran over her cart and his tire was touching her hand. She ended up with an injured wrist and unable to finish the race, but the kid behind her who I overheard had received multiple warnings for reckless driving was able to finish his race. Some employees were nice but overall it was an awful experience besides the actual racing. read more

A very lovely staff!! The environment is welcoming and the manager Steve was super friendly. He coached me on how to get a faster lap and I improved over all 3 races. Definitely made me want to buy more races. My friend, Mike, and I were talking about fun things to do and he suggested we try K1 Speed. K1 SPEED K1 Speed is electric indoor go kart racing that is known for high performance 20hp electric karts that can reach speeds approaching 45mph and the professionally designed tracks with a high-grip racing surface which allow maximum speed through the corners. Then we were called for a safety briefing and got to get into the karts. Once everyone was ready to go, we were off! Then it's up to you! A group of us showed up ready to have a great time! I pretty much spent $60 to get talked down to by the high school kids that work there that are obviously too cool for school. My bad, I came here to spend $$. It was about $56 for two people to drive one race and the silly licenses that they give you, then another $5 for a Gatorade and a water. Make sure you take a second to get something from that concession stand, because when you do, you'll need to walk up to the counter while the person looks at you from behind it as if you're a complete moron....wanting to spend money at a business establishment. You won't even get a "hi, what can I get for you guys". We were told that it would be an hour wait, no problem! We can hang out in the meantime, there is a pool table, games etc...but wait, the pool table is out of order and the games only take quarters, and there is no ATM in the building for you to have the opportunity to give them even more of your money. I would rather spend my money elsewhere....especially somewhere where the main area doesn't smell me pee.....unless you're into that kind of thing. read more

I brought my hubby here on one of our date days because he absolutely loves racing and go karts. We hadn't been to a go kart track since we lived in San Diego and Speed Circuit in Miramar was one of our absolute favorites....so I compare K1 a lot to SC in my review. The track here could have been better...there was only one straight away and it was pretty short, so you can't gain as much speed because of only being able to zip around pretty tight turns. I did prefer their electric karts over the gas at SC since they were so stinky. What I didn't exactly like was their control they had over my kart. It makes sense though since some go karters don't like or don't know how to follow the rules. I sadly got their pass flag waved at me many times since there were about 5 guys on the track who had clearly been here a ton and knew the track better than me. They had to stop our karts just when I was finally getting a handle of my kart and the track because someone's kart crapped out. It was a bit annoying. It was kind of hard to hear the guy that was giving the instructions since he was right up against one of the turns in the track. At SC, they have the person who does this far enough away that you can hear. A lot of Yelpers mentioned rude staff, but we didn't experience that. They also claimed the wait is terribly long, but we already knew this about spots like this because that is how it was at SC. Thankfully, because we came on a Sunday, we only had to wait about 5-10 minutes before our race. Oh and because we checked in here on Yelp, we received $5 off our race. read more

The need for speed I have never tried go-kart racing before. However, I always wanted to give it a try because it looks like such a fun activity, and K1 Speed is definitely a fun activity. My friends and I went to K1 Speed on a weekday around lunch time, so it was not crowded. This was our first visit to K1 Speed, but it won't be our last. To start your racing expeirence, you will have to purchase a license and a racing package. Each race is 14 laps around the track, which goes by fast. Initially, I didn't know what to expect. I mean how fast can a go cart really go. Well let me tell you, there is enough acceleration and speed in these karts to give you the thrill of racing and established safeguards the to make sure no one gets hurt. I would have never thought that go-kart racing would be so much fun or bring out the competitive nature in all of us . All of us had so much fun, it was truly an adrenaline rush. read more

Very clean, nice facility. Went at noon on a Sunday, and it was not very busy. There was a group racing before us, and a group after, so not dead, but not enough junior racers for my duaghter to race with anyone. I was bringing my nearly nine year old daughter for her first "race" so was initially disappointed, but later happy. My daughter crashed on her first race into one of the medians, confused by the waving of a green flag. She was a bit near tears, but braved it out, and only had one more minor bump. She didn't go super fast, but it was outstanding driving practice for her. It's something like 12-14 long laps... 8-12 minutes depending on how fast you drive. Nice track, nice seating inside a fully air conditioned booth, and even "outside" in the giant warehouse building with the track where it is warmer but still not unpleasant. I was really happy that the staff let her continue, despite the rules that you can get booted if you hit dividers or other cars... this is NOT bumper cars, but supposed to be like a professional race track. I would NOT recommend this for anyone under the age of 8-9, and frankly, think it's probably most appropriate for 10 years and up. It was really nice that the staff was good, calm, respectful, serious, and yet friendly. Quite honestly, it felt like it was totally worth the money. I got 4 races, so she'll be back another time. I do think you need to prepare your kids in advance, about all of the flags, what they mean, and how they will exit the track after they see the black and white checkered flag. It's maybe a bit overwhelming for kids because that is their only communication from the staff, just like a real race, and they are already so focused on the different pedals, controls, turning, etc. As for adults, it seemed like a blast... the adults were going super fast, sliding around curbs a bit, and having a great time. So I think this is great for anyone from mature 9 year olds on up to full adults. Great find. read more

We did a work project outing here and had a lot of fun, and I would recommend it to others who are looking for a place to host a team event. We went on a Wednesday night and basically had the whole place to ourselves. The mexican food they provided was pretty good - soft corn tortillas, really great salsa, average mexican rice with canned veggies in it, cheesy beans, and then some meat stuff that looked good but I don't eat. The racing part was so much fun and their indoor track is nice and doesn't smell like cars. The people working there were really helpful and nice and they print out individual race score cards for everyone. We all ended up with bruises in the weirdest places the next day, though nothing hurt while racing. This place is horribly hard to find in the dark - yes, you should turn into that almost unmarked warehouse parking lot and keep driving to the end. We all ended up getting lost, even with GPS, because in the dark their few signs are pretty hard to find. read more

Somewhat off the beaten path, you have to follow a sketchy-looking path to find this place. But, it's worth it. Loads of parking. Facility is clean and spacious. Staff are friendly and helpful. The focus here is on fun balanced with safety. They REALLY emphasize your safety. No horseplay allowed. The cars are electric so you have no noise or fumes to offend you. A nod to green! They cars are heavy but handle well and allow for a range of driving abilities. They're quite zippy and are remotely regulated to limit top speed. We had a group of 10 with the track all to ourselves. Paid for a 2-race day: 1 preliminary race, 1 finals race. Top 3 were recognized with ribbons and stood on the podium for photos. Can I give zero stars? I came here with my two younger siblings for a fun day out. During our second race I attempted to brake, but the brake screw was undone and I had no option but crash full speed into the wall. The employees rushed over and saw that the screw was fully unattached. It's highly upsetting that the brake, one of the most important parts of the vehicle and the driver's main safety feature, wasn't examined before the race. I was lucky that I was able to finish the race and walk away, but another participant may not have been so lucky. This place is being run by young kids with no concern for safety. It's run down, expensive, and unsafe. I reached out to the company as well as corporate and have yet to get a response. Which is unbelievable considering I had a full on collision I could not avoid due to their negligence. Do not give them your business or you may get seriously injured! Robert K. read more

Girl who checked us in clearly does not like her job and was not friendly at all. They told us the wait would be 1 1/2 to 1 3/4 hours. Been here for 2 hours and they just told us it would be another 40 minutes. Bought 2 races and they screwed up our group and wanted me to do one of my races without my sons and friends. Their systems are terrible and their scheduling is as poor as their customer service. Wasted afternoon for a lot of aggravation. Went here for my first go-karting experience last weekend for my 30th birthday with the hubs. I agree with the previous reviewer - this place seems to draw mostly teens and adults. There were some kids but these karts go fast (up to 45mph), so I'm not sure how appropriate it would be for children. I was scared whipping around the turns and I've been driving for 14 years! Be prepared for a wait on the weekend. It takes about 25 minutes from load in to load out for each race, and each race takes about 8-10 cars each. So we were forced to wait around for about an hour behind two large groups, which was fine, just wish I would have known in advance. There's tons of comfy couches, video games, TVs, and snacks to keep you occupied. The location is super sketchy - run down warehouses next to the freeway. Our GPS was having issues with the address as well, but once you're there, the inside is very nice, brand new, and well air conditioned. $20 a race with some specials if you buy multiple races. read more

Went to K1 Speed with three other people. Signing up was very easy but the carts are extremely unsafe. A member of our parties cart brakes failed and her cart collided with another racers and mounted on top of another women's neck. The staff had to lift the cart off of the other women's body so she could be freed. A staff member admitted that he saw her carts brake fail (stomped on the brakes without deceleration). We left after the women in our party had serious bruises. We decided to return a few days later in hope of a better experience but our last race ended up only lasting 6 out of the 13 laps because of cart failures. A serious disappointment especially for the high price we paid to race. read more

Love the large layout and the max speed is very enjoyable. They have arcade games while you wait for your party. The only downfall is the price, because it's pretty d*** expensive. Always get the 3 races instead of the 1 package deal when you're there, it's a MUCH better deal. I made the mistake of only buying 1 race and since regret it and have yet to go back because I have no casholla. If it's helpful, I think each race is about 8-10 minutes long and the wait time for my party was 40 minutes. Have fun! read more
