It is a small place, but the meats are fresh and tender. We had the bulgogi, galbi, and pork ribs and they were all delicious. Our favorite meat is the marinated rib tips. It has the best flavor when grilled. This restaurant is the best Korean barbecue in Northern Virginia. We like it better than all the other Korean BBQ places because the marinade is excellent and the place is smaller than most places , but service is good. They prefer to grill everything for you. We will definitely come back and refer others. They do not take reservations. You need to come get on the waitlist and wait...most of the time it's over an hour long. They will call you when your table is close to being ready. Highly recommend getting the marinated bulgogi and a marinated rib tips they are super flavorful!

You see, sometimes the quality does matter and quantity is something that is overrated. Meokja Meokja demonstrates that at times quality trumps quantity in Kbbq. The cuts of the meat were all very fresh. I especially enjoyed the beef brisket. It was very tender. A lot of the times at AYCE Kbbq, the beef brisket can be quite dry. Not the case here. The waitress cooked all of our food, which is something I haven't truly appreciated in a while. It does make the food a bit more enjoyable when I don't have to do all the work. This restaurant is not super big. It was already borderline packed despite that we went there right when it opened. My friend told me there is one time they waited almost an hour at 9PM. So I would definitely get here early to avoid a long wait. While I had always been a loyal fan of AYCE Kbbq, I have found myself over the recent years slowly being tipped over towards the a la carte territory. Meokja Meokja has been the tipping point that finally swayed me over. The price here is about the same as AYCE, but with better quality, and I don't feel like trash after finishing the meal. Overall, AYCE Kbbq can be a messy affair, but I felt very clean and satisfied after eating here. A very solid Kbbq meal that I haven't had in a while.

My party of 6 frequents another AYCE kbbq restaurant so we were reluctant since this place does not offer all you can eat, but the Marinated Combo and the Pork Combo with sides were plenty to feed the 6 of us. We ordered one additional appetizer, the tteokbokki was a generous serving making it worth the $16, and it was a mild spice level. We were left very satisfied with the meal and service and have plans to return! We visited at half past noon on a Sunday and were seated right away with no reservation. No issues with parking.

My partner and I were seated quickly, but it took about 20 minutes before a server came over to greet us. The restaurant wasn't busy at all, and we repeatedly tried to flag someone down but were ignored. Meanwhile, we noticed other tables receiving almost immediate service after being seated, which honestly left a sour taste in our mouths before our meal even started. Once we were finally able to get a server's attention, we placed our order and everything else came out pretty quickly. From there, we received consistent service while our meats were being cooked on the grill. Still, the initial experience of being ignored for so long was frustrating and really took away from the overall experience. The menu is also pretty pricey for the quality, and unfortunately, I don't think it's worth the price. There are better KBBQ options in the area, so I wouldn't recommend this location. Definitely disappointing, especially as someone who enjoys their first location in MD.

We ordered jjampong sujaebi, dolsot bibimbap, and the classic tteokbbokki. I cannot find a thing to complain about. Bibimbap was on-point delicious. The waitress said jjampong sujaebi was her personal favorite. It was my first time having that soup. It was really good. Tteokbbokki also taste great especially since we shared all the dishes. By itself it may be overwhelming because it's soft in texture overall and flavor can be in a single profile. Other dishes will complement it. The staff were really friendly and helpful. It's not a high-end restaurant and I like it that way. It's familiar. All those fancy decorations will jack up the prices. All the dishes here are reasonably priced if not cheap for the area. The quality and taste of the food, however, are punching way above their prices. I will try their kimbap next time. There's a lot I could come back to try for. Plenty of parking spaces out front but the traffic roundabouts on the way there can be mind-bending. The seats are designed to seat 4 people max, FYI.

The red sauce brought had a spicy kick, and the noodles were chewy and flavorful. Both were delicious. The restaurant has a casual, no-frills vibe, which makes it a nice spot for a quick meal. Everything we tried was flavorful, and I'd definitely come back to try some of the other dishes on the menu. There is limited seating so keep in mind if you come with large group. Overall, a solid spot for Korean food and worth checking out if you're in the area.

As you come in, they'll ask if you are wanting kbbq- grill or regular food (which you can get kbbq but they will cook an entree and bring it out). Vibe is alright- kind of small but works. I got the spicy galbi tang and dad got the Al tang. Both were alright- not bad. It took a bit of time for us to get food- and the side dishes were served with the entree so nothing to snack on while waiting. The side dishes portions are small, which isn't bad but they said they "ran out" of the bean sprouts and spinach when asking for a refill and it was only 7:00pm- they close at 10. Then we saw it being served to the table next to us- which I get if they are worried about running out for new customers. It was also super cold in the restaurant. Overall, felt like the experience was average... dad thought subpar.

We used to pick it up from the restaurant inside H Mart, but for around the same price point, you get a much fresher and better-quality soup here. It was seriously so good. Our go-to is the spicy galbitang, and we usually bring it home to share as part of our meal. A Korean-style meal usually consists of a protein, soup, and side dishes, so it's perfect for that. We've also dined in before and tried their marinated ribs with cold noodles, and we were thoroughly impressed. Everything tasted fresh, comforting, and authentic. Their service was great and people were very kind. Hope this place stays open forever. They absolutely deserve to.

All the servings are huge - I honestly wished we skipped the appetizer. My bibimbap was delicious! The sauce wasn't as spicy as I expected which I loved. My date loved his order as well. The service was fantastic! The aunties were very hands-on with all the guests. The prices are reasonable for the quality and quantity of the food they offer. My favorite thing is they don't just serve water, they serve bottomless hot tea! Yes the food is good, but how often do you get served unlimited tea? Entrees are the typical prices between $15 to $20 with the special dishes being more than that. The 4 star is mostly because of the prices, but the experience was good. The service is great and everyone is very attentive and ready to recommend dishes and provide refills.

Ordering required interacting with an iPad to place our orders, but we still had to go up to the counter to pay afterward. Since this restaurant is known for its Korean-Chinese options, I decided to try a pick-two combo so I could sample two different dishes. 콤보메뉴 COMBO - PICK TWO: BOK JJAM MYEON - 17.99 The food was incredibly mediocre. The fried rice was okay and well-seasoned enough, but it didn't reheat very well the following day as it was dry and clumpy. The jjambbong contained mainly vegetables and noodles with very little seafood, and the broth was a bit bland. One of my friends ordered the Combo - Pick Two: Tang Jja Myeon, while the other ordered a Mool Naengmyeon. They both thought their dishes were mediocre at best, and the tang su yuk that came with the combo was soggy and uninteresting. I don't mean to be harsh, but Il Poom Hyang is probably on the bottom of my list when it comes to Korean-Chinese food. Everything was just so underwhelming, not just for me but for my friends too. With so many better options in Nova, I don't see myself coming back.
