Toward the end of the winter storm, all I wanted was a comforting hot pot, so we ventured out to K-Town BBQ & Hot Pot and it was worth it! We loved the wide variety of meats and vegetables, and the prices felt reasonable for how much you get (definitely good value). The different broth and sauce options were a big plus and made it easy to customize everything to our taste. The veggie selection was extensive, though it was kept inside a fridge and I wish the labeling had been a bit clearer so it was easier to tell what everything was. I also wish the dessert options were more appealing, since nothing really stood out to us. The staff was friendly and attentive, checking in several times to see if we wanted to order more meats and making sure we had everything we needed. Loved that they had lots of seating and that the space was clean and organized. Overall, it was a satisfying meal and definitely a place I'd like to come back to. read more

K‑Town BBQ & Hot Pot is an exciting and much-needed addition to Hendersonville, and we genuinely loved being part of its soft opening. We visited on November 25 for a date night, just the two of us, and while the restaurant was still working out a few early kinks, the overall experience was great. Having both worked in hospitality ourselves, it was actually fun to see the team figuring things out in real time and inviting the community along for the journey all while serving some really tasty food. We decided to do both the BBQ and the hot pot, and it was absolutely the right call. The setup is thoughtful and interactive, the food was delicious, and there were tons of options. There were several vegetables, mushrooms, and sides that I don't recall seeing at other hot pot spots, which made it feel fresh and exciting. One feature that really stood out was that you control the heat of your hot pot at the table. In the past, I've always had servers set the temperature and leave it there, so having full control was both a little intimidating and surprisingly empowering. There was a brief "wait, I have the power?" moment, followed by "okay, I've got this." It ended up being one of the most fun parts of the experience. Our server was beyond excellent friendly, attentive, and incredibly knowledgeable. If you're brand new to hot pot or Korean BBQ, they break everything down step by step in a way that feels approachable and pressure-free, almost like a paint-by-numbers experience. If you already know what you're doing, they're just as happy to let you lead and jump in when needed. Everything felt clean, organized, and well run, especially for a soft opening. The space itself is beautiful, and the pricing feels very reasonable for the experience and variety. A couple of very minor, personal preference notes: the reusable metal chopsticks were high-end and clearly clean, just a little slick if you're used to disposable ones. Also, the hot pot sits on top of the table rather than recessed, which wasn't an issue for us, but is something I'd keep in mind if bringing a toddler. These are small details and didn't take away from the experience at all. Overall, this is exactly the kind of place Hendersonville has needed. We used to live closer to downtown where hot pot was easily accessible, and I've missed having something like this nearby. From the moment I saw the sign go up, I was counting down the days and being part of the soft opening made it even more special. We're already looking forward to coming back very soon. read more

4.5/5 This is a new Korean BBQ and Hot Pot spot that opened just a couple of weeks ago. It's AYCE, and for an extra $5 per person you can do both options--which we did. Our 2-year-old wasn't charged (they start charging at age 4), which was appreciated since all he ate was edamame. lol. KBBQ: We ordered brisket, pork belly, pork cheeks, and bulgogi. While the pork cheeks didn't look like the exact cut I'm used to and the bulgogi was on the thicker side, everything still tasted really good. The prime brisket was fantastic! Overall, I'd rate the BBQ about 3.5/5. Hot Pot: We chose the Thai Tom Yum and Szechuan Spicy Peppercorn broths, both of which were impressively close to authentic flavors. We added sliced beef, pork, lamb, fried tofu, and a bunch of veggies, and everything cooked up deliciously. This part was a solid 5/5 for me. I hope they add something like a pork bone or miso broth in the future! Dipping & Banchan: For KBBQ, I mixed sesame oil and salt since they don't offer a brisket sauce. The banchan was about 3/5--the kimchi was good, the radish was okay, but the cucumber was bland and a little mushy. They have Chinese satay sauce--labeled as Shacha--which is the traditional dip for hot pot. Give it a good stir, ladle it into your sauce dish, and it's savory with just a slight sweetness. They also offer peanut and sesame sauces for traditional folk and BBQ and some other ones for variety. The only thing that would've made the sauce bar perfect is if they had ponzu. Service & Ambiance: Service was top-notch--super friendly, attentive, and helpful. Thanks Siska! The space itself is spacious, clean, and thoughtfully designed. I liked the added privacy in the booths compared to the previous restaurant in this location. TVs were playing local sports, which was a nice touch. Overall: Delicious food and a really fun experience. Next time, I'll probably choose either KBBQ or hot pot since juggling both was a bit tricky and easy to overcook. But overall, this is a great addition to the area and we'll absolutely be back! PS they have free ice cream for dessert! read more

Like others who've posted their reviews, I took my family there for the soft opening. I've been to the prior restaurant that occupied this space, J. Street, so I was curious what they did to change it. All in all, it's still the same with the massive LED screen on the back wall, but it was powered off. Not much was changed except the center area behind the hostess stand is now where you get appetizers, sauces, and vegetables. Obviously with the soft opening, there were kinks that needed to be worked out. The most apparent was the service. It took about 15 minutes after being seated before we saw anyone. Once our waiter came, he took our drink order but even then, it took a while for our drinks to arrive. Once they did, he took our order and explained how it worked. I've been to many Korean BBQ/Hot Pot combo restaurants before, so I get the gist of it. Here, the entire table has a choice of Hot Pot or Korean BBQ, or a combo (for both) is an upcharge of $5. The caveat is *everyone* must order the same thing. One person can't just do Hot Pot and another Korean BBQ. Since I wasn't about to pay $5 extra for both (my kids didn't want the Hot Pot), we just did the Korean BBQ. When you order, you can order as much as you want on the initial order (so I'm told). I assumed that an order of 2 Korean short ribs, 1 beef bulgogi, and 2 pork bellies would be a lot of meat and should tide us over until the next order. We also wanted some appetizers (edamame and crab rangoon) but our waiter directed us to the appetizer station at the front of the restaurant. In this station, you can get all the vegetables, sauces, with a small appetizer and dessert bar. The sauces and vegetables are mostly for the hot pot, as I saw limited options of what I wanted for the Korean BBQ. They did not have the edamame, but had chicken wings, rangoon, spring rolls, and fried rice. It took us about another 15 minutes to get our meat but I didn't expect the small portions. Each order of meat was very small. The Korean short ribs were just 1 strip of meat, the pork belly and beef bulgogi was 2 strips per plate. We cooked it all and once done, we downed it immediately. Then it was another 15-20 minutes before we could place another order. On our second go around, I ended up ordering a massive quantity of meat because I knew it would take a while before we got to cook it. Overall, I think this place is good but they have some kinks to work out, mainly the waiting. Our waiter was nice when we saw him. Throughout the evening, we didn't get some of the things we asked for (lettuce, extra white rice, refills), but like I said, nobody is perfect for soft opening. read more

I was here last week around 9:00pm. There was only us and party at this moment. They took almost 15 minutes to take are initial order and food did not arrive past 15 minutes of that point (so now it's 9:30pm). We placed a second order by chasing down the waitress and similar experience when getting the food while she also states "I'm taking care of the party". So order of food didn't arrive until almost 9:50 and third at 10:15ish. The food was hence the two stars. I wanted to talk to a manager since the service yet my wife decided to just pay the bill even tip 15 for again "terrible service". Well visited the restaurant between lunch and dinner. (This was an excellent time to come) Right now this is Hendersonville's back door secret. Kate is our server and she is no newbie. She very knowledgeable, patient and friendly. I get that rushed feeling from her when servers get a little impatient. The ambiance is excellent. The facility is very clean and sufficient lighting. The bathroom is clean and well maintained. The only thing I would change would be the music to more a soft rock or Asian style music. Well here is the good parts, the food is top notch! EVERYTHING I looked at or ate was very fresh. We ordered the Hot Pot and the Bbq. There is so many options and choices that I was a little overwhelmed but extremely satisfied. I would highly recommend that you check it out. Promise you won't be disappointed even if you are a vegetarian. Hands down! This place is going to do well in Hendersonville. I will say the food was pretty good, but the menu online is not how the food actually looks. I was really trying to go to k Town for Korean fried chicken because they sold chicken and they just sold regular chicken wings instead of korean fried chicken.And the online menu photo clearly looks like Korean fried chicken with sauce on the outside . Korean cuisine is my favorite cuisine partly due to loving the banchan side dishes. I saw on their website that both the hot pot and BBQ had a lunch for seniors for $16 so i drove quite a while for the experience to learn that the website was wrong and it would be about $30 -more than I want to pay for lunch and I can't eat that much. SO, they like so many other restaurants don't keep their websites current and I would take 1/2 star off for this shortcoming. But they showed me their menu and I chose the seafood soft tofu stew for $12.99. I felt I got good value. They served soup, 3 banchan dishes, and rice with it. All were delicious. I will be back the next time I'm in the area. The ambiance was good, I'd even choose it for anniversary dinner. The service was excellent. The waitress checked on me intermittently without being annoying. I recommend you try it, even if you never tried Korean before. read more

My husband and I visited on Friday night 50 min before close. I knew exactly what I wanted before I got there because we came with a purpose. When we got in the host informed us last call was in 20 min. The host was a shorter young woman with long hair and a hat. There was 2 large parties still eating so not a big deal. She sat us at a dirty table with a dirty grill and crumbs all over. I hand wiped it off and sat down. She said sorry we had a busy night and walked off. The host told the server we were sat. I could already see her face being annoyed as she was trying to clean up. The server a tall woman with very short curlish hair came over, she was friendly but not attentive. She said they were closing in 20 min. Not true because it was 50 min to close but we already knew what we wanted. I told her spicy beef bugolgi, marinated pork belly and a couple short ribs and two starry sodas. Very simple. She brought the food over for us to cook within 5 or so minutes. We didn't have any utensils to eat or cook with so we had to wait for those. At this point I start looking at the meat none of it is marinated. It was dry with a few pieces of chilli pepper on top. I didn't want to make a big deal so I mentioned it to her but ate it anyway. She said it must be a new batch and that they must have just put it in the marinade. It had no sauce what so ever was just meat with chilli flakes thrown on top. At this point we are more than half way thru our meal. The server is off doing who knows what and I finally track someone down to tell him we never received our drinks. He was super nice and brings them over right away. We never saw our server again until I flagged her down to close out. We left at exactly 1030 on the dot after I neatly stacked all the plates etc as I know how annoying it is when u want to go home on time. I still tipped 15% because I've been in the industry for 10 years. However it was awful from the beginning to end. I tried to call to speak with a manager today. The same host answers the phone as I believe they have a small staff and I've been there several times so I recognized voices and faces. Anyway she informed me that me the manager wasn't there until later in the week. I asked for a district office she said they didn't have one because they were a small business. I asked when I should be calling back and asked for the managers name. She wouldn't give me a name and put me on hold. She came back and said the managers name was magic and that I could ask for her because she will be in in a few hours. I said ok give me a time to call she then said well she's speaking with the owner right now so maybe later tonight. So which is it? The manager isn't there, then she's there, then she's busy. I'm not sure why the terrible service. Why the host was lying multiple times. Seems very sketchy and weird and I've never experienced anything like that with a business who rely on customers to stay open. I wouldn't have made a big deal or even made this review but my entire experience during and after has been ridiculous. The staff is lacking tremendously in customer service. Im sure all of what I said can be verified on cameras. This was 940 or so pm on Friday the 24th. I won't be returning but unless you want to keep losing business I suggest the staff be trained on when the business Is open it is still open and customers need to be treated properly. We spent 100 dollars for 40 min of terrible service. Unacceptable. read more

Hendersonville doesn't have a restaurant like this. Very nice building with plenty of seating, including private dining areas for large groups. Friendly staff, and the owner Joe was very welcoming. What a fun experience for everyone at the table. The hot pot was flavorful and delicious. So many choices for the soup and BBQ. This place is absolutely amazing. If I could give 10 stars, I would. We went during their soft opening. Service was beyond expectations. Atmosphere was amazing. Food was exquisite. It happened to be a few days before my birthday and I got the First birthday song. Made me feel quite special. This is the place to go if you're looking for food and fun and just an overall dining experience. One thing I will add is if you are allergic to mushrooms, they recommend that you get the gluten-free broth. Went last night for the soft opening. Had a few minute wait to get seated, but was nothing major. The service was amazing Vince answered any questions we had about the way it was ran or the food in general. We ended up doing the hotpot and grill and the food and sides were great. Usually we go to shabu shabu, but i do love how this place doesn't use mat over the grill actually letting the meat get a char. We ate at the place that was in this establishment before (j street) and it was totally opposite bad food and bad service for us, but we will definitely be back soon and so happy to not have to drive downtown for this experience anymore! The Egg rolls, Rangoon, and fried chicken wing appetizers were terrible, cold and soggy. Gross. Fried rice was cold. I complained but the manager never showed up. Food was not great and for 40$ dollars a person, it's way overpriced for the quality they deliver. this place will be closed in less than a year, just like the last Korean restaurant that was in that location. Quick notes - They don't really cater to KBBQ, the sides are for hot pot. When they bring you out meat it's a slice at a time unless it's brisket then it's 2 very thin slices. The wait time (after being seated) to get acknowledged by a server is ridiculous. The wait time to get your meat when ordering needs to be remedied. It took our server 15+ minutes to come by our table to order meat and another 15+ minutes before the meat does come out and then when it does, it's a literal slice of meat. Service is slow. They give you 90 min to sit and eat but most of the time you are waiting on services for drinks and or your meat. The meat portion is small and plain, the side dishes are not good at all and not much to choose from. Kimchi seems like it's been sitting out for weeks. There is no Korean sauce. I would say the only thing that was actually good was the crab Rangoon. I was very excited when it was going to open up, only to be disappointed. I rather go to Sapporo in Gallatin. read more
