Though the establishment inside is pretty small, they do have seating available! It's a cozy-vibe, but I've never dined in- usually just get takeout! Special shout-out to Ivy- she's super friendly & truly the best

It turned out to be a great choice. The restaurant is a bright and inviting spot in a small plaza where most other businesses were already closed for the day. It's a small space, with just 4 or 5 tables, but it felt cozy and welcoming. We were seated and looked after by (what we assume were) the owners' children, which added a personal and charming touch. The menu is extensive and varied, with reasonable prices. Our food arrived quickly and was absolutely delicious! Lovely people, great food -- we'd definitely come back.

I stopped by Nippon Sushi to pick up a Maki Platter to take to my parents' place to supplement the other food that was going to be there (for an early Father's Day celebration). It was 48 pieces for $60. It was a huge hit. Everyone enjoyed it. I liked the variety of rolls and my parents liked that it had a lot of rolls without raw fish, as they don't eat raw fish. The rolls were mostly filling with not too much rice, which I like. The rolls could have been rolled a bit tighter, as they did fall apart a bit when they were picked up. This is my only critique. We got 8 pieces of each kind: California, spicy crab, spicy salmon, spicy tuna, crispy spicy shrimp tempura, and Green Dragon. Service was courteous and efficient. I was told it would take about 30 minutes for my order. I left and came back around 40 minutes later and it was ready for me. It's in a little strip mall. There's free parking available in the strip mall. It's also close to many hotels around the Ottawa airport. So if you're staying in a hotel by the airport and are craving some takeout sushi, I would recommend Nippon Sushi. (105)

I am a big salmon fan and Mac's has all sorts of great sushi only combinations with avocado, masago, and other wonderful flavours. Pro-tip: they have a loyalty card but sometimes they forget to offer it, or offer to stamp it - keep it handy if you are a Bayshore regular!

You almost don't want to eat it for fear of ruining the look - almost.. The owner Naronge can customize your order for spicyness. Don't like spicy - no problem.. Now I usually come to Khao Yum for their lunch specials and often don't look at the menu. I just order the Pad Thai. Recently I asked Naronge to suggest something different.. OMG am I glad he did. The light curry chicken is very nice. I had it served with noodles instead of the traditional steamed. rice. Now I have two favourites... The restaurant is small with perhaps seating for 20 people but that adds to the atmostphere. It is very clean and pleasant. I suggest trying it for lunch but they offer Take-out as well. Some vegetarian, and a few vegan, options were possible. We ordered: -tom yum goong soup; -satay appetizers; -eggplant and beef dish; -mixed vegetables; and -rice. If you're sensitive to heat (spices), you'll want to ask them to add zero fresh chilies. They didn't add much to my dish, but enough to give it a kick. My husband didn't notice that. Nice decor.

I was having a real craving for Hunan Dumplings and they had it at Ting's Kitchen ($8.95). I also got an order of General Tao Chicken ($10.95) for my husband, as it's one of his favourite dishes. Both dishes had some spicy heat to them. The Hunan Dumplings were in a thin peanut sauce and chili oil. I would have liked a slightly thicker peanut sauce and less chili oil, but I still really enjoyed it, and it wasn't too greasy/oily. The General Tao Chicken had onions, carrots, mushrooms and green peppers in it. It wasn't crispy, but still tasted good. The batter was not excessive and the meat was not gristley, so I was happy with this. The food overall I would rate 3.5 stars, but I'm rounding up to 4 because service was good and I like supporting small local businesses. I called in my order and went to pick it up. I had requested no sesame seeds and they obliged. The lady on the phone was courteous and efficient. She said it would be ready in 30 minutes. I got there in 30 minutes and it was waiting for me. There's free parking in the plaza.

Much better than grocery store sushi, but obviously not as good as those fancy Japanese restaurants. For the price though, and for what it is, I'd say it was excellent. I feel that the quality is similar to Kiramaki Sushi in Old Ottawa South and Sushi29 in Blackburn Hamlet. I called in the order for pickup and was told it would be 30 minutes. I arrived after 40 minutes and it was ready waiting for me. I asked for no sesame seeds and that was no problem at all. Service was courteous and efficient. The Maki Combo B had 6 pieces of each of the following: California, Cucumber Shrimp Tempura, Salmon, Spicy Tuna, and Cucumber Avocado. The sushi rice was a good texture, not too dry nor too mushy, but could have used a bit more rice vinegar seasoning in my opinion. The rolls held together well and did not fall apart when I picked them up. The rice to other ingredients ratio was satisfactory. Not too much rice, but not just the thinnest amount of rice (which is my preference) like Shinka Sushi (mind you Shinka Sushi is so much more expensive, lol). The Cucumber Shrimp Tempura roll was my favourite. The tempura shrimp was crunchy and the cucumber was fresh. The California roll was good, but rather unremarkable. The Salmon roll was really boring, it literally only had salmon in it. The Spicy Tuna roll had tempura bits in it and was drizzled with a spicy mayo. I liked the texture and mildly spicy kick. The Cucumber Avocado roll was literally just cucumbers and avocado, so another boring roll. However, the avocado and cucumbers were fresh. No black spots on the avocado and the cucumbers had a good crunch to them. Combos come with Miso soup. The miso soup was good, not too salty and had some wakame seaweed and cubes of soft tofu. It came in a plastic container though. I would have preferred a paper bowl. There are a few seats inside to eat, but it's really more a takeout joint. Decor and ambiance are very casual. If you eat in, expect a lot of food couriers and people picking up takeout hanging around. The restaurant is in a strip mall. Plenty of free parking in the strip mall parking lot.
