I went for my Canadian passport picture and it was super quick. Bring cash and I believe prices vary but mine was $27. They speak English, Mandarin and Cantonese here. Plenty of parking and they took great care to make sure I looked good for my picture. I appreciate them and will be back. read more

My first review of the year goes to this small local business. It is own and run by a grandpa himself. He's very straight to the point, efficient, and nice. I went for my passport photo to be taken, he let me know the price first which is $21 tax included, for 4 pictures. He did mention different countries' passport photos cost varies, so let him know first where is your picture for. He prints them out immediately, the whole process only took about 10 minutes. He offers a selection of photo shoots, mainly official documentation types. I hope everyone who's in the area can support his business anytime possible. read more

While preparing to obtain a passport years ago, I visited K-Photo after searching for places to get a passport photo taken. As I recall, the service was excellent and speedy. The quality of the photo was good, and the price was reasonable. Highly recommended, and K-Photo is located in the newer Chinatown on the West side. read more

Highly recommend, K-Photo is the only place we will go for Canadian passport photos. The owners are very sweet.

The only place I go to get passport photo for 30 years. Always speedy service. No waiting. They know what they are doing.

We've had Multiple passport and ID pictures taken here and have never had issues. Always quick. Just remember to bring cash.

My family has been coming here to get our passport photos taken. He knows the specifications for exactly what you need and the photos always turn out great quality. He is very professional and I've never had any photos be rejected. read more

Use them for my Canadian passport photos. Well done and approved photos. Highly recommend

Mom and Pop business. VERY quick passport photo. We walked in the door and were Immediately greeted. We were asked if US passport photo. Said, "Yes, U.S. passport photo." My son, Chris, was immediately ushered to the photo area. Within 30-45 seconds, Chris was done with his photo. He came out to the waiting room and said it would be about 5 minutes. Photos X4 ended up ready in 4 minutes with GREAT quality!!! I should have come here for my earlier passport photos. Live and learn. I will DEFINITELY be back and promote their business. They are AWESOME!! read more

I went in to take a passports picture for a Dutch passport and they knew immediately what to do. The lady photographer was really nice and had lots of patience with me. I'm not a photogenic person but the photographer made my picture look beautiful. This is our place to go for my family to get our passport pictures done! read more

VERY RUDE AND UNPROFESSIONAL. I had to retake my photo because my first photo didn't meet all the requirements (I was wearing colored contacts similar to my eye color and I didn't know they weren't allowed). I was told during my first visit on 7/18 that if there's any problems and the photos were rejected then they would retake the photos for free. So I went in today 7/25 asking them to retake my photos and the guy in the front greeted me with a bad attitude and let out a big sigh then proceeded to yell at the old lady in front of me reading the pricing on the wall in Chinese "stop reading this, this doesn't concern you, go sit down". I was shocked by his rudeness towards the old lady. And then he told me to go inside to take the photo. The lady inside was no better, she first told me my eye lashes were too long that's why my pupils appeared darker in the photos and I told her that wasn't the case, the embassy did not mention anything about my lash extensions, only that I could not wear colored contacts. And she started arguing with me saying it's because of my lashes and told me to take them off. But I told her these are extensions and I couldn't take them off on the spot. She then told me to sit down and took 3 quick photos and said "you can't have earrings on either but it's okay I'll photoshop them out" and I told her I was wearing the same earrings during my last visit and she didn't say anything the last time and the embassy also didn't say anything about the earrings. But I said I could take them off to retake the photos and she said "no I'll just photoshop them out". When she printed the photos my ears looked crooked and blurred. And she also photoshopped my hair without letting me know. I told her that passport photos shouldn't have any edits, I don't want my photos to get rejected again. She insisted that they were fine and said that I had to pay for the new photos. I went and talked to the guy in the front and said I was told by him last time that retakes would be free if the photos were rejected. And he started slamming on the table and yelling at me and said "it's your fault you were wearing colored contacts, so we are not responsible." And the lady said unless you return the photos from last time I'm still charging you for the new photos. I said the photos have already been submitted and I no longer have possessions of them plus why would you want my photos back when you have no use for them? She then stomped her feet and said "I want them back so I can destroy the products I sold to you. If not, then you have to pay for the new ones." I was shocked by the bad attitude and all the yelling. Upon reading all the one star reviews, it seems like they are never willing to retake rejected photos free of charge. They shouldn't have a "guarantee" for free retakes if they weren't going to honor them. I also think everything could've been better communicated instead of yelling at me while slamming the table and stomping their feet. They also lack the knowledge of the requirements of passport photos if they didn't tell me the first time that colored contacts weren't allowed or if earrings weren't allowed. Anyways, after the repeated yelling by them and the overall bad attitude, I decided to walk out without my pictures because I also didn't want to risk submitting a badly photoshopped photo. read more

Have used them for the last 20 years for our Canadian passport renewals. Service is 5 star. Never had an issue with the photo. Always impressed with their level of quality. Kids were a bit nervous the first time we went there, but not to worry, you will have no concerns. read more

made me look so weird. they had me open my eyes wide and clean my hair off of my face and forehead, which i'm already self conscious about. probably personal preference, but i dislike it very much, read more

Don't get intimated by the sketchy appearance of the building! The inside is clean and professional and I'm very satisfied with the service here. I came for a Chinese passport photo and the lady was so friendly. Clearly she's very familiar with the requirements of those passport photos - told me the color of my shirt was too light and offered me a darker colored one to wear for the photo. She even helped fix my hair. I only had to wait 2-3 minutes for my photos. They turned out really nice, so much better than the low quality but expensive ones at CVS/Walgreens. Pricing is $18 for 4 photo printouts. $30 for photo printouts + CD. Cash only. read more

The store decoration is out of date, but the service surely worths the 5 star. Professional, fast and much much cheaper than the other photo shop nearby. Will definitely go back! Note: they only accept cash(preferred) or check. read more

Needed a new passport photo and did not want to look at another awful one for the next 10 years. Based on previous reviews, I tried K's (this is the name on the odor and on their card). They were right! The kind lady taking photos took great care to take a flattering, well lit photo. She took quite a few to get my glasses right and I was able to pick the best of the group. Paid cash and even bought a couple of extra prints. I had the address but drove right by it. It is on the south side of Bellaire and west of St. Agnes School. In a complex of old white apartment bldgs., it is on the ground floor of the building just east of the Ranchester light. Parking at the door. I'm happy!! read more

After so many other places gave me photos that got rejected for my Canadian passport this was the only place that got it done perfect and for a great price. It's not a popular place so theirs never a wait. Also had my wife's French Visa photo done here within 5 minutes. Great place that I would recommend to anyone. read more

Really nice people. Came back after 2 months as needed to reprint picture since it got damaged by us while submitting to embassy and they found it and reprinted it for no cost read more

This place is Five Star for a reason!! They had great service and are very friendly people. When you walk to the front, it made me feel questionable, but when you get down to business they are very very professional. They knew all the specifications for the Canadian passport (in which there are many) and showed us all the things they were looking for. If they mess up or the photo is not acceptable, they will give you a free re-take or a complete refund. I STRONGLY recommend this place! (P.S They only accept cash) read more

If you drive by to check this place out and have the urge to keep driving don't! It's not much to look at but we got great service and very good quality photos. We went for Australian passport photos which have strict requirements, but the photos met them easily. The whole process happenned fast and felt a little rushed (I think it's an Asian culture thing) but they're very professional and knew the Australian standards well. They only take cash so be aware of that, but they were more than happy to let us go to the ATM down the road and return to pay. read more

Showed up last minute on a Monday right before they closed and got my 2 photos for my US passport renewal in 15 minutes for less than $15. Cant beat it! read more

The lady who takes the photos is very nice. However, I gave K Photo 4 stars because I had a bad experience with the older man who works there. I expressed to him that I wasn't satisfied with the passport photos that I took there and that I ended up taking passport photos somewhere else. He proceeded to yell at me and told me I could only get a refund if the photos were rejected by the people who process the passport applications. I calmly accepted his answer and left the building. I was in the parking lot when they called me back in and the lady decided to return my check to me for which I am very grateful. Again, the lady who works there is very nice and she is the reason I didn't leave K Photo a bad review. read more

I walked in Saturday morning when they opened to get a photo for my Canadian passport application. Took about 15 minutes, they knew the specs (and it sounds like they know the specs for more than a few countries), and it was just such an easy process. I just got out of the passport office in Mississauga (yes, I flew to Canada to get a new passport, don't judge) and was in and out in less than an hour - no issue with the photo. read more

This place looks so sketchy on the outside and there's no AC but you definitely get what you need quickly and with no frills. This is the ONLY place I will ever go to to get Canadian passport photos as their requirements are strict. Why Canada must you make your photo requirements so specific?? You'll get in and out quickly and the passport agency has never turned down my renewals/applications when we use this place. read more

Needed to take a passport photo to renew my Canadian passport. The specifications are different from CVS/Walgreens so I couldn't get it done the regular way. These guys are recommended by the Canadian Club of Houston so I went here. Took around 5 minutes. The lady knew what she was doing and was very nice. Pictures turned out great. Charged $25 for 2 photos in Canadian passport size. Only reason why I'm not giving them 5 starts is because they do check or cash only, and come in its 2014, no one carries checks or cash on them anymore; there's an APP for that! Other than that, great service, decent price. read more

Don't waste you time here!!!! I don't know why those other reviewers would say anything good about this place. I went there last week and it was a dingy, old, dirty looking shop. The owner/lady has an attitude problem. I wouldn't have my photos taken there if it was the last place in Houston. You can find much better deals online and cleaner, too. She gave a bitchy look when I went in the inquire about photo developing from a CD-ROM. Instead of being pleasant toward customers she was giving attitude and an ugly face if you weren't getting your photo taken there. GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!!!!!! read more

I went to K-Photo yesterday to get new passport photos. I picked this location because of the other Yelp reviews and had a great experience. The business itself is a small hole-in-the-wall type operation so I was shocked at how well my photos turned out--- much nicer than if I had gone to CVS or Walgreens. The woman who helped me didn't speak much English, but we were able to communicate without any major glitches. She knew exactly what the technical requirements were for the photos so I just let her do her thing. If you like to be completely control, this might not be the place for you. If, however, you are willing to just "go with it" you will be very pleased. I received 4 physical copies of my photo for $18. Bonus: There are multiple boba tea cafes in the shopping center across the street! read more

I had an excellent experience here. K Photo was recommended to me by the folks at the Australian consulate, and they did not disappoint. I was in and out of there in a flash, with photos that perfectly fit the requirements for Australian passport renewal. They even powdered my forehead a little so it didn't glow in the flash. Very professional. I'd go there again. read more

I went there two weeks ago to get my China passport photo. Unfortunately, the picture doesn't work. So I was heading back to request the full refund. Because I noticed there was a board said if your photo doesn't work, they going to take full refund or retake the photo for you. When I talked with the lady to request a full refund, she refused my request and told me she only gave me half refound. That's means I have to pay 13 bucks to get a low-quality USB driver. My personal review for any people who plan to take the photo for China passport, go to the Consulate General of China, they have a photo machine in there, you only need to pay $10 to get four pieces photo instead of two in here, and download your electronic photo online. "DON'T WAST YOUR MONEY AND TIME IN HERE." read more

I highly recommend K Photo, I did not have to wait and service was exceptional! I showed a coupon from the web site and was given a discount. If you need a passport photo go to K Photo they are awesome! read more

I went to K-Photo. Met the owner. For 4 passport-sized photos at roughly $18 including the 10 % discount, I highly recommend this place. It took him less than 5 minute to finish preparing the photos. Why does the map look like it's located in downtown? I wasted half a day because of this map! ;(

Agree with the other reviewers. Super nice couple and they knew all the requirements for my Canadian Passport which is more stringent than US passport. Hope they will still be around in 10 years when I need another renewal. read more

took a passport pic at walgreens, but it was so shitty, i decided to go get another one done. a great idea it turned out to be, because the difference is amazing. due to the fluorescent lighting of walgreens, that pic looked horribly grey and their crappy digital camera must've been set to a really low resolution, because even in a pic that small, i could see pixels. i don't know that this hole-in-the-wall family place has professional photographers or amazing equipment, but it is STILL leaps and bounds better than walgreens. AND, it's cheaper, too. skip walgreens. seriously. doesn't accept credit cards, tho, so bring cash. read more
