Wow. Just, wow. This place is amazing. With all the women in my family, we've tried out just about every nail place in the greater Hampton roads area. This one is the best. They take you for your appointments right on time and know how to schedule with accuracy, so if you want to use your time wisely, this is the place for you. It seems like everyone here speaks great English and is easy to communicate with. They have dip powder and know how to use it! Techs seem really knowledgeable about all the stuff they have going on, so if you're someone who's picky about the difference between types of acrylics, this is your place. They're easy on your nails, they don't clip cuticles unnecessarily, and they keep everything perfect. Fun fact: this is the only nail salon where I've ever seen someone cleaning a pedicure bowl independent of a customer. When I broke a nail and had one short one, my nail tech glued on a tiny extension so all my nails could be long and pretty while keeping my natural length without acrylics. Kevin goes above and beyond- and he's hilarious! For the services one receives here, I would be happy to pay slightly more than I would expect based on other places in Williamsburg. However, you don't have to, because the prices are still what one expects based on the market. I doubt I'll ever get my nails done anywhere else in the area, ever again. read more

I chose this place after researching them on google and yelp with good reviews. I Went there for dip powder as my regular nail tech was booked out. The guy who did my nails filed and buffed them well, then proceeded to apply dip powder. I figured he would do the cuticles after he finished applying dip, which I thought was strange. Nope! After he finished buffing and filing my nails , he put cuticle oil and massages it into my fingers real well and said I was done! One of the worst manicures ever. read more

Do not go here. I have cuts on every single one of my fingers. This man flooded my cuticles with acrylic. There are bubbles, the nails are crooked and lumpy. There is acrylic on the back side of my nails as well. The colors are old and do not come out as they appear on the bottles. The water for the pedicure was ice cold and my sister who also got a pedicure got an infection in her toe. The man who did my nails also did not act very professional and made me feel uncomfortable. Needed a filling desperately while on our trip so did a yelp search and this place seemed to have the best reviews. I have been getting my nails done for 15 years now so I know when a technician is good. Came here as the reviews said the business is family owned and friendly. I saw what seemed to be the husband and wife be very friendly to their customers. I guess because they knew I was from out of town, they didn't feel the need to try as much or really engage at all. Did a decent job. Wish my nails were longer and more coffin shaped but nonetheless; it'll suffice for the next week. Plus was the designs- actually looked marble like. Filling was $45. read more

This was the first time going to this salon. The technician was nice, however she kept looking out the door the entire time, making me feel as if my pedicure service was not important to her. She used utensils out of a drawer that I could tell had not been cleaned from the last person she used them on. The sink next to me looked as if it had not been cleaned in a long time. Lastly, the polish application was very poor. I could have done it myself for free. I actually used nail polish remover around my nails when I got home, that's how sloppy of a job she did. read more

I got a dip manicure here. They did a really good job on the manicure, but I was really disappointed in the lack of covid protections. They wore mask but not gloves and used a number of tools on me that came straight from a drawer, so clearly not being sanitized between customers. They didn't ask me to wash my hands before the dip mani, which requires sticking your fingers into a pot of powder. So likely these pots have had many peoples unsanitized fingers in them. If they had used the kinds of protections available out there, I would have been very happy with my experience. But instead I'm just worried my pretty manicure exposed me to covid, so I regret getting it. If they see this review, I hope it encourages them to take more precautions. I've been going to k nails for awhile and been very happy until they hired a new male nail tech. He was awful!! He scolded me about my nails coming off, kept telling me to loosen up my hands even after I told him I have arthritis and cannot help it if they stiffen, and then whatever I asked of him he ignored. I tried to tell him one of my nails was crooked but he kept saying " just wait til I use the machine." I then asked him to please fix it and he stormed off speaking in another language. I called in the morning and was able to make a same day appointment for my daughter and I to get pedicures. We arrived at our appt time (12:30) and we were greeted with a smile and asked to pick out our polish - yes I had them paint my nails blue - hey, it's what a dad does when getting a pedicure with his daughter. We were seated right away and we were socially distant from the other customers in the store. The tech started the chair massage which worked up and down our backs. After a 5 minute soak, the nail tech started and did a good job trimming our nails and getting them ready for polish. The pedicure included a sugar scrub massage on our legs and feet. The tech applied a clear base, then the polish and then a clear layer on top. We were in the salon for about 45 minutes - which included about 5 minutes for the polish to dry. The pedicure was $26. The tech my daughter had was pleasant and talked quite a bit while the tech I had didn't say one word. Overall, it was a good experience. read more

WEIRD EXPERIENCE! I wanted to try a new place to get my gel nails and found this on yelp. It started out normal - got my nails wrapped with foil etc. Then a man switched with the woman who wrapped my nails and used his OWN NAIL to scrape off my gel??? I was trying so hard not to vomit or squirm because 1) that's gross 2) it made the most horrible sound. It was the most bizarre experience. I was so shocked I couldn't speak up. I picked K Nails after seeing some not-so-great reviews of the other nail places off Monticello. It's your typical strip mall nail joint where you pick your color from the wall of polishes, settle into a well-broken-in massage chair, and dunk your feet into lukewarm water amidst the ladies chirping in another language. My kinda place. Maybe I'm weird, but I get pedicures for two reasons: to relax and to get the layers upon layers of callused dead skin off my feet. Having polish applied to my toenails is of way less importance. I found the service somewhat relaxing, despite the uncomfortable chair that I could not get to work, and my nails look nice. However, my feet need WAY more scrubbing and filing with the cheese-grater thing. Was it clean/sanitary? For the most part, yes. Could I get in for service without an appointment? Yes. Did I get what I paid $24 for? Meh. I unfortunately will not be back. read more

I walked in no appointment and was greeted right away even though all employees were busy with other quest. I sat for only 5min at the most. I got full set acrylic and spa pedicure. My nails were done In no time and they actually look almost real. I received lots of compliments all day. My pedicure was very professional compared to the last one I got at another salon. The water was perfect temperature, my feet & calves were massaged, heels were filed down and toe nails painted with precision. I sat under the fan and uv light for 30 min max and before putting my shoes on a drying polish was added to my toes with s protective plastic wrap to keep the polish from smearing. I was in and out in less than two hours with a job done right and very professional. I will continue to come to this salon. read more

I am very disappointed in the service I received at K Nails today. I have been going here for about a year and will never go back after my experience today. When I first got there I was seated for a pedicure and waited about 30 minutes, probably longer, which is fine, they were busy. One lady started my pedicure and another girl finished it. When it was over I asked to put my flip flops on as I had to leave I had been there for 2 hours for a regular pedicure. Usually this is not a problem at all. The young girl immediately moaned and attempted to slide me flip flop on, after a tine smudge she tore off the toe dividers then ripped off my flip flop and threw it on the floor. She then took off all the toe nail polish and redid them. Then put my flip flops back on and I paid, tipped, and left.
