I have been going to this salon for years and have been very disappointed lately. I was in on Saturday with my mom. Kim, the nail tech is great and very polite and professional. However, the owner was so rude, again. Today, she was so loud talking behind me as I was getting my manicure. I'm not sure if she was having a staff meeting, but it sounded like she was yelling. I have not had a bad mani or pedi yet. It can be hit or miss at salons depending on who does your nails, but here, each tech has consistently done a decent to great job. It may not be the most luxurious salon, but it's clean and they have comfortable massage chairs ... also thankful there's no offensive chemical odor when you enter either. There are usually chairs open or just a short wait, but you can also reserve services, which comes in handy for time crunches or if you come in with friends or family and want to sit together. Tried this location based on reviews. It was very crowded for a Tuesday late afternoon (445p). Parking was scarce. The walls could use some mirrors to make the place not look so cramped but it would also take the removal of pedi chairs to assist. Approx 15 pedi chairs take up every wall space there is. The ladies are extremely pleasant and welcoming. I was happy to see a price list for transparency at the front counter. They do accept tips on card payments. Only suggestion I would make is to place the color palette (polish choices) in the front instead of walking through cramped aisles to get to the back to pick out nail polish. This place does major volume in south Tampa-- but that doesn't guarantee a good or a safe experience. I am the latest among my friends to be physically damaged by one of the young staff at this K Nails. So far there's blood, but no infection. I'm still having burning pain when I walk. The staff is uneven in experience and there is no supervision. There also don't appear to be any standards for how things are done. One visit the Polish is applied with a lecture about how "Essie polish doesn't need a base coat" and the next time it does need a base coat and they leave unpainted strips up the sides of all the nails. Of concern is that there is ZERO sanitizing equipment in sight, and you will see that NO ONE opens sanitized instruments before doing your manicure/pedicure. NO ONE! The complete lack of sanitation is shocking. It doesn't help that most of the women do not speak English, so when you say "do not cut my cuticles" or "please don't use the sanding block" you need to repeat yourself 3-4 times so they will stop doing what you asked them not to do. This week the person who did my pedicure scraped off so many layers of skin from the bottom of both feet they started to bleed. Bloody and burning. All they did was give me bandaids when I brought it to their attention (!!!!!!) and then they asked for my credit card. No apology, no expression of concern. Has fear of litigation driven all common courtesy and humanity out of human interactions?? I could barely hobble to my car. It was days of wearing thick socks and padded insoles before the pain began to lessen. A friend reminded me she once asked for eyebrow waxing, and the wax was so hot it burned her forehead and when the scab cleared she still had faint marks. Needless to say she is not a client now. Another had gel tips applied, and each nail was a different length and shape! There are plenty of nail places out there. Get another recommendation from a trusted friend and avoid this place like the plague. read more

They are always busy but find ways to get you in right away as a walk in (can make appointments). The shellac on my daughter's nails came off after one day. We were on vacation so couldn't get back to see them until day 7. Shellac is supposed to last longer than a week and they refused to repaint them. I spent $250 for several of us to get our nails done when we were there. This was my go to nail salon. BUYER BEWARE! I've been going to this nail salon on and off for 10 years now, and I've been waiting a while to write a review since I recently started returning, and I can't regret it enough. It used to be (6-ish years ago) a decent salon. Going now feels like a chore: INSANE loud/crowded atmosphere that is anything but relaxing. Prices change as you sit in the chair and make the should-be-relaxing event into one that feels like a scam. Once I asked for a different color for each nail, and the price increased $25! (keep in mind they said "5 extra for the design" when I showed this design at the beginning). I've watched their prices rise over the years with a clear decrease in customer service and quality. I hit my final straw at being charged to fix an acrylic with gel that lifted over half the nail's length in about a week (which cost $75 originally!), a service the salon had not previously charged me for if the incident happened within a 2 week period. When questioned, the woman essentially said the poor quality was "my fault" when i asked why pay for gel if it doesn't last the 2 weeks they advertised...So, I've now paid $80 for acrylics, without extensions, simply painted with a gel color...that lasted 1.5 weeks. Not to mention that you never see anyone pull out a sterile tool or clean theirs. I've seen residue from other people's nails on many of the files and OTHER PEOPLE'S CUTICLES on clippers used. Gross, and can cause diseases, which I know some customers have complained about. These employees are rude to customers as well, even as they try to scam up the prices - so save your money, time, and headache, and start exploring other salons in Tampa, because I know I will. read more

I recently moved to the area and tried K nails and spa. I have now been back 3 times total. I've had different technicians every time and get the same great service with everyone. I decided to completely change the shape of my nail and try a new color and Benny was so nice, accommodating and helped with suggestions. Hope gave a KILLER leg/foot massage. I had a wonderful experience at K Nails today! I went in for a pedicure and a little me time relaxing. At first look I thought the spa pedicure was a bit pricey at $25 but again I was looking to treat myself so I decided on the deluxe spa pedicure for $35. I wish I knew the ladies name who was giving me the pedicure. I told her that I was in need of relaxation and wanted a massage more than a pedicure. She was so sweet, she massaged my feet and legs every time she got a chance with each different product they put on during the deluxe pedicure. My nails looked fantastic too! Multiple nails have peeled off and the rest are either chipped or beginning to peel off as well. My pedicure is chipped, but I didn't expect much with the regular polish. And a passable manicure. Instead of making my fingernails even, they were all chopped off to nubs. Two procedures that typically take an hour were "completed" in about 45 minutes. The last time the staff member spoke to me was to request payment. The salon seems to be clean, the prices seem to be reasonable but there is nothing memorable about the service. Why would I want to go back to get more sales pressure? This was a middle-of-the-road experience for something that is more of an indulgence than a necessity. This is my favorite nail salon! They've recently made some cosmetic changes inside and they are lovely. They also, replaced all their massage chairs and they are fantastic. They have an extensive selection of nail polish. Including Opi and Essie. They offer 3 different types of pedicures and manicures, that are incredibly priced. They do a fantastic job with gel. The nail techs are all very personable and nice. The nail salon is able to accommodate allot of customers and The owners recently got all new massage chairs. The pedicures and sitting in massage chairs are the reasons I keep coming back.I can't comment on much else since that's pretty much the only service I go for. So I can't comment on anything else. I love getting a deluxe pedicure here because they do the works. You get to wiggle your toes in a warm jetted spa, sit in a great massage chair while someone rubs your feet and legs before painting your toes to perfection. Their prices are reasonable and the paint on my toes seem to last till my next visit. Not to mention, My feet feel silky smooth. I also like that I don't have to schedule an appointment since they always have allot of ladies ready to work. I have a hectic work schedule and I'm spontaneous.
