When coming over for the initial quote he offered some design tips like putting a colored tile stripe in the shower which really made it pop. The tile work they did on our shower and floor looks fantastic, as well as the rest of the work they did. Their price was very competitive with other contractors. Ultimately we choose Carlson because Chris went into detail about how he would seal up our shower that was leaking behind the walls, the materials he would use, etc. When other companies just threw out a number. Chris and his crew went above and beyond to make sure our bathroom was done right. I would definitely recommend them.

It's a little difficult to find a good remodeling contractor north of the river but we found an excellent one when we hired Artisan Construction. We called Artisan Construction as they now have a home repair specialist. Artisan sent out a man who not only completed the project perfectly (after a few trips to the local hardware store), but was very detailed and cared about what the end result looked like. He wanted to paint the trim he had replaced, but my husband did not know where to find the paint swatch for the new paint. (The window guys- At Windura) not only took some paint off the house while replacing windows, but they never offered to correct it afterwards! ) I will call Artisan for our next house repair project as I know they will take care of whatever we have for them with the same expertise as they did replacing our shingles.

HORRIBLE! Aaron told me his company has over 20 yrs…read more experience restoring and building decks. I soon found out he's the only employee and lacks knowledge and skills working on decks. I have weeds growing out of my deck boards that sits 5-6 feet off the ground! My deck frame/support boards measure 3", he put a board 2 1/4" on top leaving a large gap for dirt, debris and water to collect and sit on top of my deck frame/support boards underneath resulting in weeds. This will also cause rotting on my deck frame/support boards. Railing boards were cut short and uneven too. He was cussing throughout the whole project replacing deck floor joists, floor boards and rails. He couldn't lift the joists and had to wait for a friend of his to come help him lift them, it took him 4 days to remove the wood screws in my existing floor boards grinding away at screws using the wrong bits or stripped bits. He said it was due to his battery on his drill being low but this happened everyday. I asked him a few time to make sure he picked up all the wood screws so I wouldn't get a flat on my riding lawn mower. I ended up finding almost 20 screws he left around my deck and yard and had to buy a magnet sweeper to make sure I picked them all up. It took him over 2 weeks to complete, a job that should've only taken 3-4 days. I know because I've had this done twice before. He spent a lot of time on the phone answering calls and returning phone calls to people while he attempted to work on my deck. When I told Aaron about weeds growing out of my deck, his response was it will cost me to come fix it and he sent me an invoice. He expects me to pay for his mistakes??? He proceeded to tell me he was a one man show and he has no retirement (his words). Like this is supposed to make me feel sorry for him and an excuse for shoddy work?

Matt Jensen came out right away, checked my attic, got on my roof, and said I had a laundry vent that needed repair. He cleaned and sealed my laundry vent. No more leaks!!! This was 08.2021. Cost was $100. NOTE: Two other roofers wanted $400 to fix the problem!!! Fast forward to 05.2025. I noticed several black spots up high on my ceiling. Matt came out to check the spots. I wondered if it was mold...It was also cleaning day. It was determined by a long handled duster, that the black spots were just dust! Matt said "No charge" !!! This was a four day job and they arrived exactly on time each day and efficiently worked to accomplish what they needed to (then left for the day, so probably only in the house about 4 hrs/day) - two days of prep/ painting, a day to dry and final day to ensure everything looked great and reassemble the island. They were meticulous about ensuring anything around the painted area wouldn't be damaged (ie: counter tops, floors). They also took our cabinet to be paint matched so we didn't have to worry about it. The team was incredibly kind and so professional, would absolutely hire again!

Other two levels on top are 10' ceilings. It's tall, it's tough to paint. From the paint crew, there was virtually no paint prep beyond pressure washing the house before spraying with paint. The caulk around the windows has already failed three months later, nail holes are clearly visible, our metal roof is dented everywhere they stood and put ladders on it, our agreement that they would remove and replace all rotten wood amounted to the crew taking out one board and leaving enough shrapnel of that board on our roof to clog the gutter twice. They did take out another board when called back out. I think we need to completely repaint the house. Incredibly disappointed. We called them out I think three times to fix damage and re-caulk nail holes and still.... it just looks crappy. I should have turned back when I found out there was no contract to sign.

When his team came out, they left a huge mess after the job was done, and every time the temperature changed for the next five years, pieces of siding would fall off the house. Charlie said it was no longer his responsibility. When I threatened a bad review, he came back out with the original team. The installer took me aside and said he had no experience installing siding, but Charlie had told him he would figure it out. After 8 1/2 years of warping and loose panels, I called another siding contractor. They pointed out gaps in the corners, and said the siding was cut too short to cover normal expansion and contraction. I am now replacing my siding one wall at a time, less than a decade after having new siding installed. Charlie does not seem to care about doing a quality job. So far, we're out $2,400 and are looking at a good $12,000 more. We should have sued.
