Amazing food and friendly service. We came here on a Saturday and they gave us free sides with our food!

So this was my first time trying Korean BBQ. I've seen different places throughout the city but never had a chance to try them. Came here and grabbed a pork rice bowl for takeout. It was pretty good. Meat was seasoned well, cooked perfectly and had nice flavor with a mild spice to it that made for a nice meal to me. I like the Korean style of BBQ with thin pieces of meat cooked and seasoned, a unique twist to traditional American BBQ. The traditional Korean side dishes were different and nice to try. I would definitely return when in the taste for this again. read more

Good BBQ and great service. The hostess even gave me some terrific hot tea while I waited for my carry out order.

Amazing service, my parents have never been to a Korean Barbecue restaurant before and the staff was so friendly and helped explain everything! The food was fantastic, I really appreciated everyone explaining it us!! Thank you guys so much read more

We ordered for carry out and it was pretty good! I think the convenience of it being the only Korean restaurant in Palatine helps too. Hopefully more will open up in the future. They've only been open a month and I didn't see much online presence so I posted the takeout menu. What we ordered: Galbi soup - more garlic flavor and richer than other ones I've had. Pretty good but depends on your preference for garlic. Meat was not as large chunks or as tender as sansoo but I would order again. BBQ galbi rice bowl - I don't order galbi much since sweet and savory is whatever to me (don't @ me), so I don't have any useful insight except that this was less charred and I prefer a bit more char. Not sure if I'd order again, but that might just be my indifference towards galbi in general. Seafood pancake - I usually prefer more crispy and browned outside, and this was less so. BUT I also liked that this was more egg-y and less doughy as other ones so it tasted very good. Def would order again. Pan chan - they gave us 5 panchan for our order and we enjoyed them all. Since I don't speak Korean I was going to describe them, but it started to make no sense (onion and crunchy radish/daikon thing in brown sour sauce??) so I'm just attaching a picture. One negative thing, what I thought was "potato salad" was more like evil-apples-pretending-to-be-potatos-salad. Tl;dr: best korean restaurant in Palatine! read more

The food tasted amazing. So rich so flavorful so exquisite. The people there were so kind. If you're thinking of going here, you have to

Our table ordered the thin sliced brisket, boneless galbi, marinated galbi, ribeye steak, and seasoned fresh raw beef (tartar)! Taste = A+, pricing is good, plenty of seating, parking is ample, service is classy = highly recommend! read more

I love coming to this place like a lot. But for some reason this time around the experience was incredibly disappointing. We wanted an order of the bulgogi beef to cook ourselves. It was brought out already cooked which was very confusing. The beef looked different and tasted completely different, and to be honest it was repulsive. Usually the bulgogi beef is my favorite, but this time around it was so bad we couldn't finish and left. Just makes me so sad because I used to love that place. Now I'm very wary of going back read more

I dropped by 20 minutes before the kitchen closed with my niece, and the host/waitress still welcomed me to a table and attended me with great patience and hospitality. The staff were very nice and the food was amazingly delicious. I would highly recommend the restaurant as I have it 5 stars. Thank you for not just good food but a memorable experience. read more

This is the best Korean! You need to just go here and experience it! I have been reviewing so many Korean spots in the Chicagoland area and this is the best of the best! read more

Great KBBQ place, quality of meat was great. The service was also very good and had a nice vibe. We tried 3 other places before this one and they were ok but this one exceeded expectations. read more

Food was overpriced and cold by the time I picked it up and got it home. Probably need to eat there.

First time trying out kbbq with the family. Although the portions weren't as big, the quality is better than most you can find in other restaurants. You definitely pay for the quality here. Service was great! You can ask them for fried rice after your meat is cooked and you are finished with the grill. The cold mool-nangmyun was also delicious here! Can't wait to be back! read more

I feel their selection of meat is a bit less than other BBQ places, but quality is pretty good. Also like the set up of the tables which helped reduce the smoke and smells from grilling read more

My husband and I are visiting from the east coast, but after days of different cuisines we wanted a Korean spot to go to. Our friends took us to this korean bbq spot, and it was great! We were seated pretty much immediately even though it was dinner time, and the service was quick. We ordered various cuts of meat and the side dishes as well as food came out quickly. The chadolbaegi was probably the most tender I have ever had, and was delicious. The cuts of meat were high quality, cooked well, and tasted great. One of my favorites - Yukhoe, raw beef, with the raw egg yolk... was amazing. The seasoning was perfect and the meat was very fresh, and to top it off the portion size was great. At the end of the meal, we ordered kimchii fried rice - they cooked that directly on top of the grill to finish everything off, and that was also soo good. By the end, we were stuffed up to our necks. Definitely a great experience and would go again next time we are in town!! The only reason I give it a four star is because it definitely is a bit pricey, but if it is a special outing, not too bad ! read more

This place is not too busy, so our food came out fairly quick. The staff are very overall very helpful. The meat is fairly pricey but tasted great in addition to the sides. Would come back again read more

The service is great, the meats are highest quality. We just went and it was our first time at a Korean BBQ restaurant so I don't have anything to base it on, but the only thing that I could pick at was ambiance... it's kind of open and not very "intimate" we had a great date all the same. I feel ripped off for ever having paid for fondue previously... the Korean BBQ cooking at the table is waaaaayy better. read more

We love the Korean chicken. It has become our Friday night treat. The secret sauce is our favorite, but we have tried several other flavors as well. Fries are tasty and a side of rice is good with the boneless wings. Kimchi fried rice is little spicy, but good too. We usually do carry out, but nice tables available as well. read more

I really don't like leaving negative reviews for local businesses unless it's for something egregious. Today was one of those experiences. I had paid and received my change in cash and left a tip. While my party was walking back to the car a woman flagged me down. At first I thought one of us had left a phone behind and she was returning it to us. Lo and behold it was one of the servers (not one that ever came to our table) asking if we paid. I responded by saying what makes you think we didn't pay? She eventually had two other servers come out and they confirmed that I had paid and they apologized that the owner didn't mark it down? I don't even know what that means, but they confirmed it while the person that originally flagged us down (no idea who she was) was looking at me. She eventually didn't even apologize to me and turned around mostly because I berated her for being rude and lacking communication and courtesy to me, a customer who just spent over $125 bucks for a meal there and had left a tip on top of it! One of the most irritating experiences ev Updating review, nothing has changed. No apology offered, no attempt to contact me. read more

Everything is so fresh! One of my favorite Korean BBQ places in Chicago for sure. Owner is so nice too.

This little Korean BBQ place was absolutely delicious. We were greeted right as we came in and our waitress was the sweetest. She explained what came on the menu and explained every side dish that came out with our food. She checked on us several times and even chatted with us for a bit. Our food came out quick and cooked pretty fast as well. I highly recommend this place and I will 100% be coming back read more

Food was very good - got the marinated galbi and the spicy pork. The galbi was scorched wonderfully. The banchans were decent too. They are not yet staffed to full capacity since restaurants started opening m so we waited forever to be served. The staff was running around trying to serve everyone and it was chaotic. read more

There isn't a lot of KBBQ in upper Lake County so my husband and I are always down to try other places where we can find them. A friend recommended this one and I'd say it was pretty good! Comparing it to San Soo Gab San in Chicago, the chadolbaegi was less fatty and made it easier to finish between us. The service team was very friendly and helpful and every kbbq needs to get on board with having a button on the table, it makes it so much easier to get refills on banchan or the check. This place won't leave you smelling like smoke like some others if you're worried about that. Price is kind of on par with most other places so if you're used to them, it's not a sticker shock. read more

I have been to a lot of Korean BBQ places and this was one of the best places, if not, the best place I've been to!

I would say this place has become more of my go-to kbbq spot. I would say I go at least 2-4x a month. A lot of places don't do it the right way anymore. Good kbbq should have lettuce wraps, but that's just my humble opinion. The quality of the meat also seems to be very good compared to other Korean restaurants in Illinois. I specifically say Illinois because I know I've had better quality other places. I also love getting their yukhwe but I will note, they add radish instead of Korean pear and it really cheapens the experience/taste. The dish is not cheap, price-wise, so I really feel like they should splurge for Korean pear. The reason I still order it with the radish is because I like the meat and I don't care about the sweetness added by the pear. BUT the way it should be done, is with Korean pear. They give free single serving of soybean paste soup (dwenjangchigae) per diner which is nice but I wish the anchovy stock taste wasn't so strong. It almost only tastes like anchovy rather than soy bean paste. The service is decent, sometimes they're super nice and attentive but sometimes I need to ask for the same thing 3+ times. I still give the place 5 stars because, like I said, they do the kbbq part of it right and the quality of meat is good. read more

I have only had the chance to try a quick takeout lunch but it was fantastic! Love finding little local gems and I can't wait to be able to go and enjoy the full BBQ experience. The grill area looked legit and I think people are going to be pleasantly surprised as I didn't realize how big or nice it was from the outside. The kalbi lunch special was fantastic for sure. I will be back this week to try another lunch special! read more

Very solid Korean BBQ. Probably the best kalbi anywhere around. Wish there were more ban chan, but that's not a show stopper. Very, very good food. read more

I just ate here for the first time! They've been around for 3 years and are in the same plaza as Shinchan Ramen House and Sukho Thai Restaurant! I had the seafood pancake and popcorn dumplings for appetizers. For dinner entree I had the marinated galbi(short ribs) and the Bibim Naengmyeon (spicy cold noodle soup with sliced radishes and cucumbers and hard boiled egg)! All the food was absolutely delicious--fresh and flavorful! The banchan (6 little plates which each contained different kinds of sliced up, specially seasoned vegetables and tofu), were all delicious too! My server Vanessa was very attentive, pleasant, knowledgeable and efficient (as was her coworker, who also helped out a few times this past night)! The whole restaurant is very clean and has a more colorful and pleasant interior than most Korean bbq joints (which are usually dark, divey and make you feel like you're eating in a refugee camp or bomb shelter...definitely NOT this place)! The majority of the other diners were Korean, so I knew the food was authentically spot-on! Anyway, I do plan on coming back here again with my friends next time! read more

Not sure this a place that offers anything for people who have food allergies. The food smells delicious and looks amazing, I walked in to ask if there is anything that is Gluten free on the menu and I was told everything has gluten. Really? Guess that means not welcome here if you have food allergy or they are not interested in accomodating. I would think that some type of meat, vegetable or rice does not have any wheat based products? I guess GF soy sauce is too much of a hassle for these small shops. I will continue to support the Asian fusion businesses that offer GF options, such as PF Changs, BIBIBOP, Wok N Fire, and my local sushi shop. read more

This place is so clean bright and service is excellent. Kalbie is very tender and flavorful. Side dishes are limited but the meats are all very fresh cut meat . Went last week. Nice and clean inside. The meat quality was very good and the banchans were decent. but a few issues hence the 3 out of 5 stars. - It took over 15 mins to get our cuts of meat and it was only moderately busy. - the $79.99 meat meal was a bad deal. Would definitely not recommend it. Was a very small amount of 4 different cut of meats. Would have gotten 50% more meat if we ordered 3 meats individually. Definitely felt cheated out of the meal. - we ordered the fried rice at the end and we never got an egg with it. We noticed that all the other tables got an egg. I know they are new and have to work out some of the issues but pro samgyubssal is definitely a notch higher in overall service food and price. We will try it again in a couple months and reevaluate. Hopefully they work out some of these issues. Good luck. read more

High quality meat. However, service is slow esp rush hour but they are trying - I can tell - so I can't say too negative things about them. If you want service, run. For meat, highly recommend. Not a fan of other dishes (I can tell it's not their forte) read more

I'm no K BBQ expert but I stopped in with my girlfriend's Korean-American family for dinner. This place was a treat! We have been going to this restaurant since they opened and love it. My husband had a surprise party for me there with many couples of our friends and everyone left just raving about how great and filling the food was. None of them had been to a Korean style barbecue before and now they all love it as we do. We have ordered many things from the menu that were both delicious and satisfying. I really love their sides, especially the Kimchi and the tofu soup. One of my favorite things they have is the green onion pancake. Occasionally, I get the pancake to take home for dinner as it is enough for two. read more

K-BBQ = K-MSG We had Rib eye and Marinated short ribs. Good points: The staff's welcoming greeting Things to improve: 1. K-BBQ uses significant MSG in the side dishes and seasoned ribs. The excessive use of MSG needs to be reduced. I get thirsty after eating at Korean restaurants, depending on how much MSG is used in the food. After dining at the K-BBQ, the thirst intensified when I got into the car. Although sweet drinks or ice cream helped somewhat, the thirst didn't subside even after having ice cream. I slept poorly because I had to drink until late at night and make bathroom trips. 2. Sliced mushrooms & pepper were dried. 3. Giving the check to the man after finishing the meal. Why do they assume that the man will naturally take care of the payment? The woman who went together won't suggest returning to that restaurant to the man. 4. Appropriate eye contact: The person, whether an employee or the owner, stared at my eyes for an uncomfortably long time while saying, "Please come back" The person seemed to have eyeliner tattoos and was wearing a mask, making it difficult to tell if they were smiling or not; the unusual staring customer's eyes that long seemed intimidating and unpleasant. It was rude behavior. read more

Loved it. Dinner and entertainment. Prices seem high at first glance, but we ordered two entrees for three people and it was plenty because you get sides and soup and salad. They refilled the sides we especially liked. Fun to cook the meat on the table. Service was great. Very welcoming. (We were the only non-Asians in a full restaurant on a Saturday night.
