I will have one of my associates call you. I gave him my name and number. I could tell he didn't write it down. Today in Thursday August 8th. No return call. If this is the way you treat your costumers before you get there money I cannot imagine how you treat them after the job and payment. No thanks Tiger Roofing Inc. Moving to my next estimate.

Jesse and his crew were responsive and eager to coordinate directly with my insurance provider, which helped move the process along--but not without some concerns. To start with the positives: Jesse is communicative and aggressive about pushing the claim through insurance. Once work began, the repairs were done relatively quickly. He clearly wants to keep things moving and keep the client informed. However, the full process--from damage to completion--dragged into early April. A lot of that delay falls on the insurance company, but not all. CRE can be a bit too eager to upsell or stretch the scope of work to fit what insurance might cover, and that added some complexity and delay. More importantly, the execution left a lot to be desired. The fascia and trim work ended up dented, scuffed, and uneven in places. Nails were bent over instead of properly seated. Cosmetic flaws that shouldn't be present after a professional repair. And the biggest issue: the roofing subcontractors were extremely sloppy. They left debris scattered across my yard and nails in my driveway--one of which ended up in my tire. That kind of carelessness really undercut any goodwill. In summary: Jesse is responsive and energetic, and CRE will push your claim hard. But expect to keep a close eye on the job, especially the subs, and don't expect perfection on finish work. Solid in some areas, disappointing in others.

A couple of things: 1) Bad Scheduling and Communication - the original work was supposed to be done in 2 days, but they said they needed a third day to complete the job. Sure, no problem...except they never showed up on the third day and didn't tell me. This is very unprofessional and inconvenient since my tenants set aside their day to make sure they were available to let them in. 2) Unprofessional-ism - As we scheduled to get the job done, more of the ceiling cracked so I made a mistake by asking them to fix the additional spot and see if other spots needed to be fixed proactively. They said yes, they can fix additional spots and paint the entire ceiling and the job will take 3 days. The worker comes to do the work on the first day, and never showed up on the following day. Again, no notice that they weren't going to show up and again, my tenants had set aside their days to let them in. This is the second time now so I was about to ditch this contractor, but they said they will absolutely finish the job on the next day 3) Bad Quality/craftsmanship - I posted before and after pictures. While the ceiling is "repaired" -- it looks horrible and I'll most likely have to get it redone. I had this done by another contractor 10 years ago on another spot and the finished product looked smooth so that you couldn't tell that the ceiling had been damaged at all. Not with this finished product though. I would have let #1 and 2 slide IF the end result was high quality of work. But the result is unacceptable to me and I worry that the more of the ceiling will crack since I have no confidence in their skills in this area. Beware other yelpers -- they don't have many reviews for a reason.

Also important was knowing that Southernwood has a local office and that we would be able to find/contact them (if necessary) after the job was completed. Our first experience with Kate, who fielded our call and answered many questions, started the adventure with positivity. Next was our roof inspector and estimator, Geddy Fuller - who was fantastic! He conducted a thorough assessment of the roof/exterior of our home to provide an accurate, competitive quote. He made recommendations when we asked, and was very patient as he guided us through the process. He met our insurance adjuster at the home to answer any questions they had, which helped moved the process along quickly. There were zero high pressure sales tactics, and zero gimmicks - a breath of fresh air! The company was well represented, the paperwork process smooth, and also important to us - the quote was competitive and reasonably priced. We next visited the show room in La Plata, MD which had material samples and colors available for us to review and compare on site. The offices are laid out nicely with many items displayed around the room so you can see the actual colors in person, not just view on a computer screen or in a book. Next was Kirsten, the scheduler, who patiently worked with us to establish a date for install while taking into consideration the weather, our schedule and their schedule. The material arrived on time and the job was completed on the scheduled day! The area was cleaned well afterwards and our property was treated with care. The follow up care we received was also a breath of fresh air - they checked to be sure we were satisfied with the work which included shutters, gutters, fascia board, and other items that helped bring our home up to date, all priced well and of good quality. We received our warranty information to file - and in our case it is transferrable if we decide to sell our home - what a value-added bonus! Price was fair and work was completed to satisfaction next two working days. Enjoyed working with them and they did a really nice thorough job. No need to worry about this roof for another 20+ years.
