If you're against the way they prepare the meats or even as little as the smell here, then you simply don't have to walk in. Those who come KNOW what they come for and that's why this establishment exists. Now on to the review. There's not many live/fresh poultry markets around anymore that still take pride in their quality and service of what they sell. I know that poultry markets aren't everyone's "cup of tea" or their preferred method of buying chicken or other meats to cook, BUT there are still many that appreciate the fresh meats and this is just solely speaking for those who do eat meat of course. HK Live Poultry has been a long standing business with loyal customers for YEARS and there's a reason for this. From the kind and generous owner to the hard working employees in this establishment, everything you get here is what you expect to get here. That being said, you get great quality meats that are ordered daily and great prices at that. I can't say enough good things about this poultry spot and I will be forever coming back all the way from Queens!

Along with these choices, they have salads, sandwiches, chapni kebab, and biryani. With your purchase, you can also get a free soda. Their food is consistent in quality and their service is great. This is a great halal spot for the neighborhood! Rice: cooked al dente, mild seasoning (tastes like cinnamon, cloves, cumin seeds, turmeric). The mild seasoning of the rice compliments the extremely well seasoned meat. Meat: I love how the meat is cut into large pieces (unlike the typically smaller pieces from some carts), adding texture while also having such a flavorful experience. There is also green bell peppers and onions with the meat. Salad: one thing I don't like about other halal carts is how little salad they give and how big the lettuce and tomatoes are cut. This cart gives a good portion of salad cut into bite size pieces. Sauce: they provide the white sauce/hot sauce option. Unfortunately, I don't think they have BBQ sauce (might not be needed given how well seasoned their meat is). They put on an ample amount of sauce where it's not too overwhelming and it's just enough to coat the meat. Portion size: great portion size for a meal. Good amount of rice, meat, salad, and sauce. This is a great place to try! I'm very happy to have it in the neighborhood! Here are a few pictures of when I got lamb over rice twice.

There are naturally times when they're busier, during the peak of the lunch and dinner rush for instance. But preparation has always been surprisingly quick, in my experience. Usually open 7 days a week, late morning until around 9:00pm. Never super late; 10:00pm on weekends, all times approximate. Guy's name is Mohamed, and he and his sweet wife are from Bangladesh; she only works in the daytime. He has kids, lives nearby, and he owns the cart license/ business himself. Super nice people, a valuable part of the neighborhood, a fixture! He's been on this spot forever, and apparently is also allowed to leave the cart there overnight, on the sidewalk. Since it's also his business, sometimes they just choose to close; be aware. But he's open 95% of the time, during expected hours. I took these pictures at his request. But my review is 100% sincere and genuine, and I've been eating there for a decade or more myself. They've kept me alive!
