So great! I was trying to figure out what to do with the linens for my wedding (buying is cheaper…read morethan renting but colors are limited and then I'm stuck with them / my table rental place had some to rent but they were expensive and also limited in colors) when I came across the "Linen Hero" website in my searches. I was so excited because they had cheaper prices than anywhere else and a wide variety of colors to choose from. I was hoping to do something more than a white table cloth so I was excited at the possibilities they offered. Plus, since it was a rental, I wouldn't be saddled with laundering everything myself after then storing a couple dozen large tablecloths that I'd never use again. Best of both worlds! I was hemming and hawing between a few colors and saw that they had a showroom in Madison Heights so I figured I'd stop by when I was in the area next to see how they matched up to the online photos. I stopped by and sadly saw a sign on the door that said "by appointment only" but I figured since I was just looking at a color I might be able to just take a peek. The woman who greeted me, Devonna, was amazing right off the bat. She was already with a group but said that I was welcome to take a look then gave me her card to schedule an appointment later if I wanted to discuss more. We chatted a bit and she was so friendly and helpful that I decided right then and there that I would book an appointment to come back and work with her a bit more in depth. The shop itself isn't huge but it's nicely organized by color and they have a wide variety of textures, shades, and styles to choose from. They also vary in price point too from the lowest (a basic solid polyester which is what I was looking at) to more pricey (textured roses and patterns). They also carry other items to make your tables as fancy as you'd like (chargers, overlays, brooches) plus napkins and chair sashes/pads/covers. And the staff is there to help you put something really lovely together (hence the appointment requirement). Life got a bit busy so it was a few weeks after when I emailed her but she remembered me and what I needed right away. We booked a time for me to come in and I stopped by. Again, SO helpful! I was having second thoughts on what I had decided so I asked her for her expert opinion based on our centerpieces/flowers/decor and what I wanted to do with the tables and she gave me her opinion ("I like colors!") which is was what I was leaning towards as well. I was just nervous that it would all look too monochromatic with my flowers and such. She said, "I hate to have you come back in again but what if you came back with a mock up of your centerpieces and we could set a table to see if you like them?" I actually didn't mind returning since i'm in the area so often for meetings and such so I told her that would be a great idea. Just to be safe, though, she put in an order for the linens I was thinking of using since they were running low on them for my date. That way if I decided to use them I'd already have them and if I decided to go with something more neutral it'd be easy to secure those (since they have an abundance of white and ivory). I put my deposit down and left feeling so great about the whole experience. I go back next week for this "dry run" of sorts so I haven't 100% nailed down the order and of course I haven't had my wedding yet to comment on the delivery process but I will update this when I do. For the time being though, I couldn't be more happy and secure re: my choice to use them. And I can't wait to see what everything looks like all put together!

We sought a wedding photographer who had a unique sense of style, great usage of light and composition and experience in urban and natural settings. Additionally, we were looking for a photographer who was flexible and could produce non-traditional wedding shots to match a non-traditional wedding format. After looking through a lot of websites, we decided to go with JR. The experience could not have been better. JR arrived early to the venue to scout, was fun to work with and worked so long into the night we had to tell him to go home. JR brought his wife as a second shooter. Despite being a less experienced photographer, we were also impressed by her pictures, her warmth and professionalism. JR's has phenomenal attention to detail, and is a talented editor as evidenced by his post production work. JR not only captured the moment, he captured emotion and great beauty with his lens.

My experience with this photographer is that he wasn't attentive to the brides needs, he didn't communicate via email in an efficient manner on many occasions, he provided poor customer service and he broke his contract. In regards to my needs on my wedding day, I would expect any photographer to take control and have some sort of direction, but he didn't. As a bride, you want photo's for memories, but unfortunately, I barely have any photos of my side of the family from beginning to end on our wedding day. JR primarily took photos of my husband and I, and focused on my husband's side of the family, which is unacceptable since our wedding was small and intimate. He also does not appear to be creative editing or does not edit at all. In regards to him breaking his contract, his contract states that we would receive our edited photos within 90 days after our wedding, but after a couple emails from me, we finally received them 127 days later after our wedding. Although JR captured several special moments in his photographs, they do not encompass all the opportunities he should have provided as a professional wedding photographer. For any bride, you want or hope to have a great experience with the vendors you choose for your wedding day. My only regret is choosing JR since many of the special moments caught in photographs cannot be recaptured.

The ceremony will be all of 15 min, why so expensive??? I learned two things: 1) I'm in the wrong profession and 2) I needed to find someone more affordable and reasonable. Since I was striking out on The Knot, I went old school - yellow pages! I know...why didn't I just look at Yelp? Who knows! I think I was just getting discouraged and frustrated. Anyways. The yellow pages turned up Dream Wedding Ceremonies. There really wasn't a whole lot to choose from honestly. I called & he answered. Talking to Wayne made me feel like I was talking to my Uncle Johnny in Dallas. I felt so comfortable and at ease with him. His personality & character definitely came thru in our phone call and I knew this is the type of person I'd want to officiate our wedding. I've said how I think he's great, but here's why - he's thorough. Where are you getting married? When are you getting married? Oh you live in this county, well this is where you wanna go to get your marriage license. Don't get your marriage license too early cause it's only good for 30 days - 2 wks at the earliest is when you should get it. He tells you not to worry about anything, and if you have any questions at all to give him a call. He's great at communicating and I never felt like there was a lack thereof. Which is super important when you're a bride-to-be because everything worries & stresses you! Another thing that sets Wayne apart from other officiants is he doesn't require a contract. That made me a little nervous, so I sent him the payment in advance to ensure there was some kind of exchange. And as far as payment goes - he tells you he doesn't collect until the event date cause he doesn't want you to have to worry about it. Who does that?! After the ceremony, he takes the completed marriage license and takes care of filing it for you. See? He's really a great guy and I wish there were more people like him in the world. He's honest, trustworthy, helpful, friendly, caring, and fantastic at what he does! And if all this isn't great enough - he's affordable! If you're getting married and need an officiant, do yourself a huge favor and give him a call.
