Brides - do yourself a favor and book the Hellenic Cultural Center as your reception venue!! The space is warm, inviting, and beautiful. The food is incredible, and weeks later, our guests are STILL talking about it. There was also a bridal suite and groom room on site, which was the perfect place for us all to convene for hair and makeup during the morning of the wedding. Best of all, the staff is incredibly kind and accommodating! There's so many details that other venues told us they would charge for, that the Hellenic Cultural Center included for us, which made the process so seamless! From providing decor (like hurricane vases and plate chargers) to working with outside decorators to create the space of our dreams to having a professional serving/bar staff, the Hellenic Cultural Center had everything we needed. We held our American Business Women's Association (ABWA) major scholarship fundraiser - the Autumn Brunch With Auction - on Saturday, October 19, at the Hellenic Cultural Center. We had 130 guests and 200 items up for auction. The room was great, the facility is beautiful, the food was fabulous (REALLY!!), and the staff could not have been more accommodating of all of our special set-up needs. They also kept the Mimosas flowing! We'll be there again next year on October 18, 2025, and are looking forward to another great event with the help of the Hellenic Cultural Center. I just wanted to update you on the wedding we had at this venue!! Everything went better than we could've imagined as far as the venue goes! Lisa, was do great and kind and helpful!! She was there most if not the whole time!! She was awesome'!! She did too many little extra kind things for me to even mention them all!! " Looked Nice Inside " We went to see the Hellenic Cultural Center to see if it would be a good place to have a wedding. The inside of the Cultural Center has a modern and clean update to it, and is a good size venue. It looked like a great place to have an event, party, concert, or educational lecture, There is plenty of parking, and there are many local restaurants that can cater your event. I found this venue on the knot. I knew this was the place I'd use for my wedding and reception. Everyone there is extremely nice and want to make sure everything is just the way you want it. I especially love Nikki. She helped me with so many fine details. Even to just listen to an emotional bride to be and reassure me that everything will be alright. I highly recommend this venue. Beautiful rooms, hallway fountain, gazebo, staircase for pictures or ceremony. The food is delicious and the customer service is great. The accomodations you can't beat. Attended a wedding there and as you enter the hall, it does look a little plain and basic. There isn't much character given in the hallways, however once you enter the event room, it's a total transformation. Restrooms are up to date and clean, and the hall from one end to the other was modern and updated. The reason for taking one star off the rating scale was due to the food, frozen meatball taste, salty dried chicken and the veggies were bland. Kudos to the staff because they were amazing. Judy was assigned to our section and she was excellent in making sure we were serve/cleared promptly. One thing I hope for in the future is to have an assigned smoking section, there must of been at least 20 people standing in front of the entrance blocking anyone from not inhaling the smoke. At least post a sign requiring so much feet needed to smoke from the entrance, or a little courtyard on the premises. You can't get no reception within the building that you have no choice but to go outdoors and feel as you are part of the smoking team. read more

I've attended a few functions here and it's always been a nice space to have them. My first introduction was going here to vote when I first moved to the area, and it was clear and easy to see where I needed to get to. More recently there have been community meetings in another building. Although it was harder to find the small conference room I was supposed to be in, the space was very nice and I was able to hear the meeting from out in the hallway when I had to step out and entertain my fussy daughter. We also ran into some other people there for a religious instruction class and everyone was friendly and forgiving about my daughter walking into their class unexpectedly. I do have to say, though, if you're ever looking for the building, it's the ugliest one on the street. Whoever thought poured concrete would be a good architectural look was wrong - especially in the middle of a residential area. read more

In hindsight if I could redo selecting this as my wedding venue, I would do it in a heartbeat. I write this so that for those who are looking to book at this venue know about my experience and can plan accordingly. I hope that you will learn from my mistakes. A few months ago, I came in with my father and his friend to discuss potentially booking this venue for my upcoming wedding celebration. The venue manager Kathy was completely rude to them. We get an apology email from her saying that she was wrong about the prices. I thought it takes alot for a person to apologize so we gave them another chance. We told her up front that Golden Harvest would be our caterer and she said we would make it work even though Kathy said they had issues with them in the past. Golden Harvest has to cook some items so food will be fresh and hot and she said that as long as Golden Harvest turns off the gas before they unhook the gasline then it can be hooked to their wok. From Kathy's unsolicited negative feedback of the owner/cook Kelly (Golden Harvest) and vice versa, I should have know it would be a literal recipe for disaster, but I thought these people are professionals so they can put their differences aside and work together. I dealt with Kathy for the 2/3 months of planning and last month was with Mona. At first, Kathy was helpful: she gave me names to a backdrop vendor and tried to find me a vendor who would put on my chair covers and sashes. This was very helpful and I appreciated it. In last month, my interactions were mainly with Mona since Kathy was on vacation. Mona was pleasant, but as expected the communication and handoff between her and Kathy wasn't so seemless. Now, if your looking for a full service venue where they'll tell you everything they can do for you that's included this isn't the place. I felt alot of the times I had to ask about things or just find out they have certain things (table number holders and table numbers, easels, tv for ppt). Three days before my wedding, I get a voicemail from the caterer saying that they called the venue to just double check and make sure they are all set. The caterer said that they spoke with Kathy (apparently she is back now from vacation) and she said they could no longer cook at the venue and they would have to cook outside. I'm thinking okay there must be some misunderstanding because she told us as long as they turn off the gas before unhooking and hooking the gasline it should be fine. My little brother and I go to see Kathy in person the next day and she said she never said that and that she could get fired. She has no empathy and is irrate for no reason. I stayed calm as I could since my little brother was with me and told her I needed to step outside. I was in tears trying to gather myself and calling my caterer to figure out what to do TWO days before my wedding. My husband goes to speak with her and she ends up yelling at him and calling him a liar. She said well I'm not even going to be there, so Mona will deal with you. My husband and I are two professionals that work very hard. We've dealt with many types of personalities, but never in my entire life have I ever encountered someone like Kathy who could be so unprofessional and cruel. I spoke to Mona the day of about Kathy's behavior and she said althought it is not an excuse that Kathy may be going through some personal things. Regardless of what was going on in her personal life, we did not deserve to be treated that way. Kathy told us things that ended up not being true. If she told us from the beginning that they did not approve of the caterer then we would have booked with a different venue! Then it gets worse, the lights were broken on one side of the hall and yet no one told us until we got here to set up. Why wasn't that fixed for us? The tables were set sloppy. Spoons crooked and a few times I walked past I had to adjust them. I had to remind Mona about the table numbers that were given to Kathy and about the presention. The presentation did not work and they didn't even bother to fix it. The staff they hired chugged down beers, ate our food and cake before it was time to serve and grabbed candy and desserts that was for our guests off of our dessert table. My guests snapped pictures as proof. That is unacceptable. When my husband went to speak with them about this, Mona's response was that this is standard practice. Really? When asked to speak to their head person to give feedback we are told that these two ladies are the managers and we cannot speak with the Priest. And we are told well you guys left the place in a mess and walls damaged but we didn't tell you? Really? I'm trying to directly give you feedback instead of blasting you on all social media platforms and that's the response we get? Thanks for nothing. My host ordered me a vegetarian plate which I never received. When asked about it, the server said they would make something. When she was asked a second time, she said the chef was working on it; the third time, it was something to the effect that it was a closed menu, and they would have to make something special, meaning she lied when she told me that it was being prepared; of course, meanwhile everyone has nearly finished their meals. MAKE UP YOUR FREAKING MIND; a simple "f.u." would have been more polite and then I could have simply left and not waited to receive my meal that was promised and never materialized. Glad I didn't pay for any drinks at the cash bar so they didn't get my money. Oh, husband said the fish was dry, as was the beef and that it really was not quality food. What I did have (salad, roll and some vegetables) were ok. Dessert was passable. Gave one star, as the salad was decent and the restroom was clean. To my veggie friends out there: don't waste your time, actually go somewhere that appreciates your business and doesn't treat you like crap or worse than that. read more

You know how people say that something will always go wrong on your wedding day, but not to worry about it because no one else will notice? Well absolutely NOTHING went wrong on my wedding day! And a BIG reason my day went so perfect was because of the outstanding dream team known as Mona & Kathy at the Hellenic Cultural Center. I had a lot of requests with my wedding reception. A LOT. And with 530 guests, a double wide stage that needed to fit two bands, several guests that were a bit demanding with seating, and many Greek and Serbian traditions that were done throughout the night (I am Greek and my husband is Serbian), Mona & Kathy handled everything calmly and professionally. I was regularly in touch with both of them for several months leading up to our wedding, and they could not have been more pleasant to deal with and attentive to any questions I had. Also, the food was OUTSTANDING. I heard no complaints from any of my guests, NONE (and like I said, some of them were demanding). Before the wedding, I actually could not decide which type of chicken I wanted to serve at the reception. A few months before the wedding, I got a phone call from Kathy who said that they were having a baby shower that day and that a type of chicken was being served that I had not tried before and that would be excellent for the wedding. Kathy saved some extra chicken for me from the baby shower so I could try it. She was right, I loved it and decided to serve that chicken dish at our wedding. This extra level of personalized customer service is not something that always happens at banquet halls. I HIGHLY recommend the Hellenic Cultural Center for your next event, big or small. We just wanted everyone to know how amazing the Hellenic center was and how awesome Lisa was to work with! We had my sisters wedding shower here and everything went off perfect, The food was GREAT, we had a salad bar with grilled chicken, a couple different salad dressings, and a bunch of toppings. Man do those Hellenics know how to cater a traditional Greek Orthodox funeral. I've been to a few of these shindigs and the food is always quite good. It's not easy turning whitefish, peas, potatoes and salad into a great meal, but somehow they pull it off. The service has always been exceptional each time I have been here and they do a good job of spacing the tables out. The decor is modern and updated, so if you haven't been here in a while check it out. New paint, trim, carpet, etc. If someone you know is Greek and dying you should peg these guys for the after party. (Get it?) read more

Recently went to a lenten fish fry at the Hellenic Center, it was probably the worst that I have encountered, all the food was cold, portions were very skimpy, and some of the food was not properly prepared, soda pop machine was not working properly, as a result the beverage provided was water or coffee, The price was $8.95 however if you wanted a piece of salmon it was $2.00 more, desert $2.50 more, they are running an add in the observer paper going against other businesses that are charging a similar fee for an all you can eat buffet, yes the Hellenic offers a Buffet however they have someone who serves you. I conveyed my concerns to a woman who appeared to be in charge but she took it to personal to be of any help and said that she would to talk to the father. Nice place to hold an event. You definitely need to bring in your own spot lights if you are having a trade show but otherwise very nice. This is a great choice. I am not going to be having any of the food they offer but the facility itself is perfect. Good parking, easy to find and lots of local restaurants and hotels. read more

I just attended a Fundraising event at the center. I was so amazed at the elegance and ambiance of the dining area and entrance area. The bathrooms were spotless and the marble floors shined. The food was hot and fresh. Veggie and cheese tray served before dinner was spectacular. Pasta, veggies, chicken and beef were yummy. Patricia Drew greeted her guests with the most warmest hospitality. I am thinking about booking this place for a shower or wedding! Way to go Hellenic Center. Kathy and Mona were so accommodating, the package fit our budget and they saved us time and money in other areas like the decor. My husband and I got married a little over a month ago, and we had both our reception and bridal shower at the Hellenic Center. All I can say is that they were both absolutely perfect, thanks to Patty and her staff. Patty went out of her way to make sure everything was exactly how we wanted it, from the size of the dance floor and the layout of the room, to making sure our signature drink was perfect and coordinating with our DJ and Photobooth. She took a TON of weight off our (my) shoulders, and made it everything we ever dreamed of. I'm a perfectionist and normally hard to please, but Patty went above and beyond anything I could have ever imagined. Patty made us feel like we were part of her family, and made us feel like we were the most important people on the planet. We are still receiving compliments on how nice the reception was. The food and drinks were great, the hall was spacious and clean, and the staff was spectacular! We would recommend the Hellenic Center to everyone....And when it's time for us to have a baby, we'll have our baby shower there too, because we know we'll be in wonderful hands. read more

I even got that impression when I called to set up the appointment. I guess I shouldn't have expected a lot, as I attended a wedding here a couple years ago and they screwed it all up. I hate to even give this a 1 star. As ben T. wrote it was the worst meal I ever had. Buffet was served by ladies that were afraid to put food on your plate. The rolls were stale, the fries cold, calamari rubber, the fish so-so and the pop was so watered down it tasted like tea. I don't know how they can get away with this. We had our wedding reception at HCC in September 2015. I don't think words can express my gratitude and satisfaction with the Hellenic Cultural Center! Both Liza and Lauren were so professional, helpful and accommodating throughout the entire reception planning experience. Both the planning process and night-of were stress free! Liza and Lauren took care of details that I hadn't even thought of. We had two ballrooms and we were able to use the outside gazebo as well, which was really nice. The weather was great, so we were able to keep the door open to the outside gazebo area. Also, the food was fantastic. I had many comments from my guests about how much they loved the venue, food, and service. The HCC prices are so reasonable, especially for the quality of service and experience received. i've been to the hellenic center fish fry twice this year and we will also go next friday. the salad bar was huge last time i went and included fresh fruit. the calamari was good, they also had two other types of fish that my husband liked. $20 for 2 people's unlimited food & drinks and tip. we didn't get dessert but it was $2 or $2.50 and not unlimited. staff & manager were friendly, short wait in line. we asked for a pitcher of pop and they brought it to us. love it! read more
