Can't say anything good about this company. We had a wedding in my back yard on Saturday. All of…read moretheir equipment was old and ragged including the tent, tables and heater (that had to be reset again and again). The 20x40 tent was poorly set up. they only put 3 stakes to hold it in place. I had to install 4 of my own stakes to hold it down due to pretty strong winds on Friday. It also leaked during a rain storm on Friday, luckily it didn't rain on Saturday. They also did not review the equipment inventory and get a sign-off for it. Thank goodness there wasn't a discrepancy, but they did take one of my personal propane tanks. I had to call them to ask that it be brought back, which the owner has promised to personally do before Thursday. That said, the worst part for me was that there was very little communications on when they would install and remove their equipment. They just showed up and didn't have the common courtesy to let us know they were there. I could hardly believe it when they showed up unannounced in my back yard before 10:00 am Sunday morning and began removing their equipment (remember, the wedding was the night before). When I confronted them they complained that all of the decorations were not removed from the tent and that the tables and chairs weren't properly stacked for them. Very unprofessional business in my humble opinion.

We planned a wedding in a little over 3 months, and began working with her 85 days out. She was incredibly responsive, even to my barrage of emails late at night! She was always kind, super comprehensive, and was a steady force throughout all the planning. She adapted to our changes in requests, even all my last minute ones the week of, and even one change the night before! Even with our quicker planning timeline, she stayed incredibly organized and on top of it all. She even helped consult us on some vendor advice, and took extra time out of her day to do so. Our family and friends LOVED her too! She was wonderful during our rehearsal and during the day of! Everyone said she was running the show amazingly, and handled various random issues that popped up, such as someone getting sick, so swiftly and smoothly that I didn't have a worry at all the whole day. She even made sure we had our custom cocktails and cocktail hour apps waiting for us at our sweetheart table since we didn't get a chance to have much during cocktail hour! Every time we reflect on the day, we always mention Samantha and how she was literally the lighthouse in a storm for us. We probably talked to Samantha the most out of anyone in our lives during those 85 days, and we seriously miss her! If we had to redo it all, we would literally plan around her availability to hire her. Her industry knowledge is incredible, and she has such an eye for design too. Samantha and her team made wedding planning so much more enjoyable! :)

About a month or two after we signed. She Took my money and refused to send anything back. I'm not saying she didn't earn something like 100... but not 600... Due to the contract.... that was in Feb 2016.... My mother in law to be, DIED and my father has cancer and had a quadruple by pass in November 2014, so I had to cancle my wedding to help them with money (which is devastating all in itself ) and she held my feet to the fire. No one else did. The hall, photographer, cake baker, etc... everyone gave me even the deposit back to help me with our families medical bills. Which they so didn't have to do because they actually did work... Except her she met me once and had 2 phone calls... oh and some emails. Which 90% of the conversation was about canceling because of our families situations. .. she didnt plan anything or do anything. Oh no wait she put a post on facebook....woopie.... She wouldn't even give me half of my deposit back. She told me she couldn't because of the contract that was 2 years in advance and she could only give me something back when someone else booked with her.... what?! Are you serious. It was 600.00 down payment and seriously she did not do anything near that amount of work. I am so sorry I ever did any type of business with her. Wolf in sheep's clothing. Talks so sweet but yet... yes, we did have a contract but not until 2 years and she knew everything that was going on. She has no heart. Do yourself a favor don't do business with her. She's so desperate for money that she kept all of mine and did nothing to earn it but sign a paper... at the end if the day it was morally wrong. My dad almost died, my mother in law to be died,.... that's why I had to cancel my wedding.... She should be absolutely ashamed. I don't give a shit about the money anymore. Now I'm just warning all brides not to trust her because she has no morality or heart.

Although I did not use her as a wedding planner (didn't hire one at all) I did use her website (and subsequently, the discount) on my invitations. She must have contracts with a lot of the vendors because she offered the best discounts I saw in all my searches. Her customer service is top notch as well. When I sent in my order, she emailed me a question to clarify what I wanted on my RSVP cards. I had omitted something and she suggested I change it, which I did. I was pleased that she contacted me personally for that clarification, and very happy that she helped me improve the cards! I used her services on my invites, then advised my sisters-in-law to check out the website for their weddings. The only drawback I can see is that I think she only works in Michigan, so she may not be able to get discounted invites for people who aren't residents of the great mitten.

Pick up and drop off was easy - we got married over a holiday weekend and ended up working with our venue to put the linens on ourselves which was easy for us. Ultimately, we want to have the reception we dreamed of, safely. When I first booked with Luxe, I was really excited and thought their product was beautiful. It was exactly what I pictured for my reception. However, due to the pandemic, continuing with our original date would put our family, friends, and vendors at risk. We made the decision to push our date back to 2022. My venue, DJ, photographer, and florist moved our date without any issues or fees. Luxe informed us that they were not legally obligated to move our $850 deposit if we moved it another year, so we would be losing our deposit if we went through with moving it. We heavily considered not changing our date because of this, but ultimately, we want to safely have the reception we dreamed about. When I emailed Crystal and Colleen to let them know our date had officially changed to 2022, they never even bothered responding to me. I would rather give my money to a company that runs on high ethical and moral standards instead of a company worried about the bare minimum they're legally allowed to do.
