About a month or two after we signed. She Took my money and refused to send anything back. I'm not saying she didn't earn something like 100... but not 600... Due to the contract.... that was in Feb 2016.... My mother in law to be, DIED and my father has cancer and had a quadruple by pass in November 2014, so I had to cancle my wedding to help them with money (which is devastating all in itself ) and she held my feet to the fire. No one else did. The hall, photographer, cake baker, etc... everyone gave me even the deposit back to help me with our families medical bills. Which they so didn't have to do because they actually did work... Except her she met me once and had 2 phone calls... oh and some emails. Which 90% of the conversation was about canceling because of our families situations. .. she didnt plan anything or do anything. Oh no wait she put a post on facebook....woopie.... She wouldn't even give me half of my deposit back. She told me she couldn't because of the contract that was 2 years in advance and she could only give me something back when someone else booked with her.... what?! Are you serious. It was 600.00 down payment and seriously she did not do anything near that amount of work. I am so sorry I ever did any type of business with her. Wolf in sheep's clothing. Talks so sweet but yet... yes, we did have a contract but not until 2 years and she knew everything that was going on. She has no heart. Do yourself a favor don't do business with her. She's so desperate for money that she kept all of mine and did nothing to earn it but sign a paper... at the end if the day it was morally wrong. My dad almost died, my mother in law to be died,.... that's why I had to cancel my wedding.... She should be absolutely ashamed. I don't give a shit about the money anymore. Now I'm just warning all brides not to trust her because she has no morality or heart.

She must have contracts with a lot of the vendors because she offered the best discounts I saw in all my searches. Her customer service is top notch as well. When I sent in my order, she emailed me a question to clarify what I wanted on my RSVP cards. I had omitted something and she suggested I change it, which I did. I was pleased that she contacted me personally for that clarification, and very happy that she helped me improve the cards! I used her services on my invites, then advised my sisters-in-law to check out the website for their weddings. The only drawback I can see is that I think she only works in Michigan, so she may not be able to get discounted invites for people who aren't residents of the great mitten.

From the first email we shared, I have never waited more than a day for a response. Even when she was on her own honeymoon, she managed to send me a "Ack, I am out of town! But, when I get back I will send you the pricing info! " email. That is so helpful to a bride who is planning at all hours of the night (because, honestly, what bride doesn't plan at 2am?) - Alison is organized and thorough. I got all the information about pricing, albums, expectations and requests up front. Our initial meeting with Alison left us feeling completely comfortable in her hands since she was on top of her game. I never had to worry once we decided to utilize her talents! - Alison makes the pre-wedding and day of wedding run so smoothly. She helped me craft a pristine wedding schedule of events and was an expert at keeping us on track during the actual wedding without being bossy or pushy. She arrived on time and ready to shoot and kept the mood light and worry free! She even reminded me to eat (thanks Alison!) so I wouldn't pass out when walking down the aisle. She brought snacks with her, in case I didn't have any. During the day, she blended into the background and I barely even noticed her stealthily snapping shots during the ceremony and dinner. - Alison got my proofs back to me in a month and boy, are they STUNNING! The final product from our day is exactly what we wanted -- relaxed, candid, bright and thoughtful images of the best day of our lives. She caught every detail, every smile, every bouquet of flowers and edited the group down to 550 of the most beautiful pictures. I've just been skipping through them for the 5th time in a day and I am completely in love. Thrilled doesn't even begin to describe what I am about these pictures! I can't wait to pick out the photos I want for our album and work with Alison to create that heirloom piece. She's great at making you feel like you are sooo lucky to have her as a photographer. She charges $5700 for an engagement photo shoot, 8 hours of photography on day of with 2 shooters (herself and a friend). We were traveling from out of town for the engagement photos. It took multiple emails (like 5) to get her to respond to a date that could work for us so that we could buy our flights. Our engagement photos weren't great. She tends to shoot from below, which wasn't the best angle for my husband or me. There's very little direction from her (I.e. put your hand on his chest). She does do a good job of feeling like the photos she's taking are fabulous during the shoot. On the day of, she likes to claim that she "takes charge" which I thought I'd like. She's not lying, she takes charge but doesn't pay attention to the schedule. She made me 30 min late to my own wedding bc she was taking pics and not paying attention to the time. My family actually said they thought I was getting cold feet. I kept giving her the benefit of the doubt but we finally got our photos over 3 months after the wedding. I cried when I got them, and not for a good reason. The photos are terrible. They're unedited.....there's trash in the background of my bridal portraits that she chose to not edit out. She put a filter on all of them but it just washes us out. I do not have a single one of my mom and me that's in focus. She took a million of my husband and me but I can't find one that I like. It is truly disappointing. I don't have a single photo from cocktail hour, no photos of our signature cocktail signs, no photos of our beverage napkins. It's like she was just shooting random things that aren't in focus. To top it off, multiple people came up to me and asked who my photographer was bc she was so crabby during the day. I will be asking her to edit our photos...tbd. I would never recommend Mishelle.

I don't think it's always been this way with Mishelle but I believe the quality of service/work has gone downhill and it should be noted for the prices being paid. Non responsive up until wedding day and multiple ignored messages. When we did talk I could barely get a word in or share our vision. Showing up late/distracted on wedding day. Didn't get many of the family portraits that were outlined, odd angles/lighting/bad editing/blurriness in photos that doesn't seem normal for a 15+ year experience photographer. While I will say there are some good photos, overall we were disappointed in our experience and the delivered work for the amount paid. There are many many anecdotes I could share that reflect our experience but overall, the day and 'edited' images reflected a lack of passion, care, or attention to detail. I try to give the benefit of the doubt but for a once in a lifetime event, the photographer experience is very important and unfortunately Mishelle missed the mark.

When we got to hers, our minds were quickly made up - her work was everything we were looking for. The booking process was super smooth; we got to chat with her via Skype (as we were out of state) and work through all the little details. She really listened to what we were hoping to get out of the experience and worked with us to create a plan that fit us. We checked in with her in person a few days before the wedding to make sure all the details were set, timings were correct and to go over paper choices. I love speaking with Amanda because she is so professional and obviously a top notch photographer - but talking with her just puts you at ease. She is so warm and friendly, it makes the whole process so totally comfortable. The photos of the wedding itself were incredible. Amanda and her assistant captured all of the standard wedding shots, but all of them are distinctly done with the lightness and ethereal quality I was so hoping would be present. Amanda really did an absolutely stellar job and we could not have been more pleased with the whole experience. I am STILL getting people commenting on our wedding photos and wanting to know about our photographer. (Going on 2 months later!!) marcie of pink moon photography captured my hard but redeeming vbac experience from beginning to…read moreend and also did a maternity shoot for us a couple weeks prior to the birth. she is very personable and was such a pleasure to work with. my husband and i were a little leery about having someone we didn't know capturing such an intimate experience. but when i initially spoke to her on the phone i knew she was the right person for the job and meeting her in person before the birth to go over the process put me and my husband totally at ease. marcie documented every emotion of the labor and delivery process. priceless looks exchanged between me and my husband. the support of our doula. joy, exhaustion, pain, setback, perseverance, accomplishment. our daughter crowning and being delivered from my body and placed onto my chest, something i had not had the privilege of experiencing during my first birth. i will forever treasure these moments marcie so beautifully captured that make up my redeeming vbac experience. our maternity photos were taken at the botanical gardens in ann arbor. i love outdoor photos but didn't think they were possible in january in michigan. but marcie informed me the impossible was definitely possible! the greenhouse of the gardens was like a balmy bit of florida in the middle of winter. marcie made this 36 week pregnant mama feeling like a whale look like a goddess! i can't recommend marcie highly enough. i loved working with her and plan to continue to do so in the future.
