I have nothing but AMAZING things to say about them. We found them after a long search to cater our wedding in June 24. They jumped to accommodate our brunch catering request, and did so flawlessly. The guests were extremely impressed with their ability to serve and maintain breakfast foods buffet style, and raved about the options and taste of all the food. Zero! That is my review. I asked Katherines Catering to host an event. I did not realize that I was paying $186.00 per person for sandwiches that were 1 inch by 1 inch. The servers did a great job helping set up everything, but this event left all the guests hungry. They actually went home and ordered pizza. I am still trying to untangle what the heck cost $4,656.13 for 25 guests. We did have flowers and tables clothes but my goodness. First time I used them they did sandwiches which were full sandwiches, I had no reason to believe that this was going to cost more money and that a cocktail sandwich for lunch did not mean a full sandwich but the finest of sandwiches I have ever seen. They were also supposed to have brie on one of the sandwichs and it had absolutely no Brie! There food signs were bigger than the sandwiches. I will never ever hire them again. Buyer beware with this group. I see all of these posts that say they did a great job and I am wondering, did they run out of time for our event - what the heck happened? Just don't do it. My club and I decided last minute to change caters and venue location to Katherine's Catering at the Summit on the Park location, and we're so happy we did. Just a few weeks before the banquet was supposed to take place, Laura from Katherine's Catering was more than accommodating to our needs. She responded quickly to all of my emails and almost 30 minutes after our phone conversation, she had a proposal ready for us. The banquet hall at the Summit on the Park was amazing. There was free parking, all of the tables, linen, napkins, and forks and knives were placed for us. They also cleaned the venue for us as well. This was a huge plus for us, because if we were to have gone with the catering company at our school, we would have had to done this set-up and tear down ourselves. The food was great! Usually, banquet food is dry, bland, and just not something to write home about. Katherine's Catering gave us an array of options at a very decent price. We ordered the vegan pasta dish, grilled herb chicken breast and beef tips for our entree and redskin potatoes and veggie blend for our sides. The meal came with garlic knots and a house salad. We also opted for dessert, choosing half ice cream and half sweet assortments of cookies and rice krispies. While the food was off of their "school/sport" banquet menu, the food was laid out buffet style. I regret not getting a second plate! The head of the team working our event, Dylan, was also amazing. All the workers were super kind, experienced, and a pleasure to work with. Katherine's Catering did a fabulous job on our catering needs for a recent meeting. Our meetings during the week ranged from 20 to 400 people. From set up, to presentation, to tear down everything was perfect. The service staff was very friendly and accommodating. They showed up on time (or even early) and made sure everything was exactly as I wanted it before they left. For our large meeting they stayed and kept the everything refreshed and tore everything down without leaving a trace. The food for our breakfasts and lunches were all delicious. We had a variety of different items each day ranging from sandwiches and salads to chicken breasts, orzo, and roasted veggies. Plus drinks and afternoon snacks. We had our Thanksgiving dinner catered by Katherine's. It was a meal serving 8-10 people. Everything was delicious and plentiful! The meal was packaged professionally with sturdy containers and reheating directions. The turkey was carved making it so easy to serve. The pumpkin pie with real whipped cream was a delicious treat. This meal was an excellent value for what we got. I would use Katherine's again for any party or event. I also utilized the delivery option and I am so happy I did! From beginning to end it was so easy placing the order and then serving the amazing Thanksgiving feast. read more

Kathy constantly fortified the fact that Katherine's wanted our day to be special and they intended to be part of making it so. From working with the venue to ensure all the details were in-line and answering our last minute questions up until the day before the event, their on-top-of-it quality removed a lot of stress from our plates. The day of the event was seamless. The staff was efficient and friendly. The bartender was organized and knowledgeable. AND the food was phenomenal. I heard nothing but wonderful things from our guests. I could not recommend a caterer in the Ann Arbor area more emphatically. I recently engaged Katherines Catering for a small graduation reception for my daughter. Due to the complicated Covid restrictions, I also worked with Katie on planning the event and I couldn't be more grateful that I did- Especially since I am in a different state and she made the whole party planning process completely stress-free -- keeping in mind all Covid safety guidelines. Katie was professional, calm, detail-orientated, creative and her added touches such as balloons, flowers and labels were all beautiful and beyond my expectations. I attended a dear friend's daughter's wedding last night at Lyon Oak's Banquet Center. I have experienced Katherine's Catering a number of times over the years, always receiving a 5-star experience. Last night was terrible. There was no visible supervisor or manager on duty overseeing flow of service, the venue or quality control. The bar was not staffed properly making service frustratingly slow and delaying the bridal entry and foodservice. The food servers, while friendly, were not properly trained and were painfully slow. The salads were limp, the rolls cold, chicken & beef were overcooked & luke warm at best. The ice cream was never served; left to melt in glass racks around the ball room. The wedding cake was cut up and placed on a table with no announcement from anyone that it was served...same with the pretzel station (also luke warm). The FOB's table was served last, 1.5 hours after the head table was served. Little Caesars pizzas appeared on their table. I am not sure if they ordered them themselves or if it was a botched pizza station that arrived before dinner service was even complete. The dinner dishes were left on tables far too long, so long that the family actually cleared their own tables. Bathrooms were not cleaned throughout the evening; running out of paper towels, toilet paper and trash overflowing. ALL OF THIS was not acceptable. A wedding is a once in a lifetime experience. Many years of thoughts and dreams from the wedding couple and their families go into the planning of this day. Weddings are made up of a thousand details, many of which were missed. I know how frustrated and disappointed the Mother-of-the-bride and many others were last night. There is no amount of money in a refund or an apology that can fix or compensate all of the wrongs that occurred that took away from this service and F&B experience. I absolutely adore Katherine's, having worked with them on a number of work events. They absolutely saved the day recently, when a different caterer I originally lined up had to back out at the last minute before a major board meeting. If memory serves correctly I called in a panic on a Tuesday for a Friday meeting (breakfast, lunch, and coffee service), and they pulled together a proposal in about 15 minutes and it was just about perfect. Our guests loved the food, and the only thing they couldn't provide was rental china/silverware because as amazing as they are, they aren't literally magicians/time travelers and it was actually impossible. The food was great, it met all of our needs, and our guests enjoyed it. And as an added bonus, I was able to stop worrying about my blood pressure and focus on the meeting. :) Katherine's rocks! I'd recommend them to anybody. read more

For being so well known in Ann Arbor I thought they would have more of a wow factor. Food was not flavorful, decor seemed dated and staff seemed to not really care. It was very frustrating to work with the wedding coordinator and not easy to get ahold of her. In Oct 2020 she had been very difficult to get in touch with regarding COVID and would not tell us what our options were for canceling. Finally we got the okay to cancel with a full refund so we went with that and made other plans. We had to call back in December and speak with another person about getting that refund which she said we should again receive soon. We had to call back AGAIN in Jan and this time the boss of the first two employees said we would not get our full deposit back although we were already promised it by two employees. He said we would only get half if we chose to get money now. But if we waited until the day of the wedding and they couldn't perform we would get the full deposit back BUT if we waited and they could perform, they would charge us the full contract amount. However, they would probably somehow figure out a way to charge us rather than refund us due to the nature of them not honoring TWO of their employee's actions. HEAVILY disappointed. on their website it states "Katherine's knows the single most important piece of your wedding is trust." Well if they don't back the promises of TWO employees then there is no trust. This business is crapping on the little man. Nickel and diming during a pandemic is not going to help a struggling business, but good service could help pull you out of trouble afterward. I'd be willing to take this down IF you return the rest of my deposit you owe me. read more

I love Katherine's. They've catered both my 21st birthday party and my baby shower and the food was great both times. I got numerous compliments from people asking where the food was from because of how good it was!! It doesn't taste like catered food and the people working both parties were so nice. The event planner that helped me decide what to order was very attentive to what kind of people/appetites would be there and helped further organize table cloths, center pieces and decorations to make sure both of my parties came together nicely and were organized. Coordinating events from a distance can be tricky, but working with Beth at Katherine's was seamless from start to finish. We booked Katherine's Catering for our first annual hospitality tent at the Ann Arbor Summer Festival and they made planning a first-time event in a new city very easy. They are experienced and knowledgeable about the festival and catering at it. I liked that Katherine's has a diverse menu that allowed us to choose bite-size passed hors d'oeuvres and hearty buffet appetizers. Beth was flexible and patient, while we added to and subtracted from the original proposal. I was even able to add florals last minute! The service staff was professional and incredibly friendly on the day of the event and the best part is the full service set-up and tear down. I gave four stars only because this was my first time working with Katherine's, but I'm sure after a few successful events, they would deserve 5 stars! read more

We had Katherine's Catering for our wedding this year and they were absolutely amazing. My wife and I usually don't look forward to wedding food (dried chicken, overbaked pasta, etc.), and what we got through Katherine's couldn't have been further from that. From the planning stage through to the big day they helped us pick out a menu that fit exactly what we wanted. And during the wedding my wife and I had every single person we spoke to tell us how amazing the food was. In addition to the great food, the service staff was incredibly polite, helpful and hard working and even helped tear down our wedding at the end of the night.
