After going through the process of interviewing our offerings in Castle Rock, we chose Tails Up. Now it books up fast so you really should plan ahead. Although calling them and begging them also works ;) They have a very good online scheduling site where you can book all of their visits. Enzo loves it there and I can vouch for him since I can go online and watch him through all of their cameras. This play does NOT have all day play, which I prefer since my dog would be exhausted if they did that. When I board him there for longer than a few days, I always sign him up for some extra play sessions or tennis ball day where they put out a ton of tennis balls and dogs can live their best life playing fetch, etc. I can't recommend them enough!

He has strict feeding instructions which includes nothing other than the food that we've provided him because he has had pancreatitis. He was there for 3 nights and we picked him up this morning and he is incredibly sick and has awful diarrhea. When we picked him up both him and his blankets in his room were covered in pee from not being checked in on or taken out consistently. He has medication that helps him with his anxiety that he was not given. It's hard to believe that after being given detailed feeding instructions and information about his medication that a facility could be this incompetent. We have to take him to the vet in morning to make sure his stomach and pancreas are okay. I would not recommend this place if it were the last boarding facility in Colorado. I cannot fathom why there are so many good reviews when we've had nothing but awful experiences here.

Once I realize they were a hands off type trading, no choking collars (which I'm sure have there place. Just not for what I need, and would be a trigger to me) I was paired with a very gentle, slow paced lady who understood quickly my needs too. My current service dog ‍ is getting ready to retire. So after a positive phone call. We made our first appt. $150/hr She arrived early, we sat out on our front porch and chatted with Bentley with us. She watched everything. And noted all the scratches on my arms (she called them 'new mom, puppy arms) When then toured our home, explained a typical daily routine with all three dogs. Toileting accidents that were still occurring. Then we came to the upper floor and our patio, throughout all of this she had begun to give Bentley treats with a key word. It was amazing how he calmed down. (Maybe she switched dogs??) We then went out back and she began to have me me do the same training. And when the ignore him. He responded instantly. (He cannot leave our property due to shots yet) So she gave us some homework for me and my husband, and then for the family. She will return in two weeks. My arms are almost healed. (They were really bad) He now also will sit. He still follows the main 'key' word. She has warned us about age (teenage) and we are getting him fix very soon. So there may be a bit of a back-slide. But the is ok. I'm not in a super fast rush to get him trained. His pace along with my pace. I am so grateful for this group. I've already recommended them to a couple with a big puppy. I hope they can help. Here is a picture of my boy. It's not current. He was 23 lbs in early March and he is 40 lbs now. The vet told us, "He's going to be a big one" Which is perfect for my needs.

After some research (and even looking into month long intensive training camps) I found Karma Dog. Karma Dog believes in positive reinforcement and patience- with your pet and yourself. I can say that our private sessions were always amazing! Katherine was patient and kind, gave advice and little tips and tricks geared toward my dog's age and breed, and turned my little terror into a well behaved one year old pup that other people want to be around. I would 100% recommend Karma Dog to others out there- and if you are lucky, you will be paired with Katherine!

I have used many kennels, in my many years of having fur babies in my family, all over this state…read more I have used Hallcrest Kennel since July of 2010, nearly seven years. This is a wonderful kennel out in the country. Yes, this kennel is on the property of the owners. Their home is here. They are here with your pets. Wide open spaces surround this kennel. My dog has separation anxiety, and has been boarded from a few days to several months when I was moving. He loves it here. During the last month of my move, I had six critters...three dogs and three cats boarded. All of them were well cared of and loved in my absence. If you want a yuppie kennel that has spa treatments, swimming pools and 24/7 video surveillance, this will not be the kennel for you. If you want your pets cared for by a wonderful family in a kennel that is at their home, I highly recommend Hallcrest. Marilyn and Bob are the best. Located just east of Elizabeth, plenty of room for the dogs to roam and play. I researched about 7 kennels before deciding on this one. The other places just seemed cramped and well, kind of dirty. Not the case with this kennel. Virtually spotless when I arrived, nice size individual runs, great beds, and very nice staff. I think it cost me $25/day to board and this kind of piece of mind is well worth the investment. They have been very flexible in the past - when I needed an extra day or two on a trip. Even if I didn't live so close, this kennel would still be my número uno choice. Thanks you guys!
