During the conversation, he also provided helpful and professional advice regarding my other tech-related concerns. Overall, I felt that he genuinely cares about both the service he provides and the people he helps. Because of this follow-up and support, I am revising my overall experience to a 4-star review. I also hope the company's culture continues to reflect this level of care and professionalism and continues to support both customers and staff. --------------------------------------- Previous review -I brought my MSI laptop to this shop for a lid repair. At the time, there was a small crack on the left side near the hinge, and I was worried it might get worse , but the screen bezel was intact. I was initially told that once the part arrived, they would notify me to bring in the laptop, and the repair would then take about a full day. The part arrived on December 30, 2025, I dropped off the laptop on January 6, and picked it up on January 9. -After I got home, I turned on the webcam to prepare for a meeting, and noticed that the screen displayed a blue image. I contacted the shop immediately. I was asked to bring the laptop back for further inspection, but no explanation was provided regarding the possible cause of the issue. -Since the shop is about an hour away, I asked whether a remote diagnosis could be done first to better understand the situation. I was informed that there would be a charge for that service. At the same time, I looked into common causes of this issue and found that it can result from a protective film not being removed during repair. However, this possibility was not discussed. -If a likely cause had been communicated, it would have helped me better understand whether an immediate return visit was necessary. Without that information, the situation was unclear and required additional time and travel to resolve. -More recently, about four months after the repair, I noticed that the bezel near the hinge has cracked, even though I have been handling the laptop carefully. This area was not damaged prior to the repair. Given that the hinge area is a high-stress point, I am concerned that the repair or reassembly may have contributed to this issue. Overall, my experience was disappointing. While the initial interaction felt welcoming, it was followed by a noticeably self-protective approach when issues arose. Although the repair was completed, I encountered additional problems afterward that required significant time and effort to resolve. Based on this experience, I strongly recommend that others ask detailed questions about the repair process, confirm what testing will be performed, and ensure the device is thoroughly checked at the shop before taking it home. In general, I believe that clear communication and transparency are important in building trust with customers over the long term.

I can quickly spot great or poor customer service and professionalism. My work was extremely high profile focused on live event production. Very stressful. The staff is sharp, professional and articulate in their communication. I can honestly say I've found "my premier vendor" to service both my personal and professional needs without any worry.

    The most absurd situation -- after waiting for over three hours this morning and canceling plans…read morefor an 8-11 AM technician to service my cable box and router and several other issues that I wanted to discuss with them, Optimum customer service sends someone who could not speak any English -- only just Spanish -- just Spanish! This is a business where, even when you call technical support-- although it can be challenging to understand what they are saying and clearly you can tell they speak another language -- they can at least communicate with you. Granted, the tech that came was late, but appeared cordial -- came with all his equipment, probably is a decent person and a hard worker, but you're not delivering me an Uber eats drop off meal or just delivering something to me. I need to discuss with you my issues, not have you call customer service to be a Google translator! Customer service got upset with me for questioning why on earth would they automatically assume that this was one of their better ideas! How would I be able to explain to him the issues I had? And please don't try to call to find out what's going on. You'll be met with an automated robot or waiting on hold for a lifetime. It got to the point where I was asking to please transfer me so that I can discontinue my service! First of all, not only are you providing high prices with substandard equipment, you want to convince your customers that actions such as this are OK and should be tolerated. Did they assume this part of the Bronx is primarily Spanish speaking? I can't imagine what they were thinking -- but it wasn't common sense. To top it off, they never sent another technician today, but took it upon themselves to not try to call for this discrepancy, but instead just changed my appointment to two days away without asking me!
